We understand that it's Saturday and busy but that should not mean that compassion and standard of care should go by the way side. She was finally taken into triage and then into a room where she had to wait another 40 minutes before a nurse even came in to talk with her much less a doctor. We were sent over from an urgent care with discharge notes which were disregarded entirely and then a battery of tests were ordered. She sat there in pain for 2 hours before they even came to draw blood and take her for a ct scan. She then sat for over 3 hours waiting for those results. We're not unreasonable people but the lack of empathy, care, and service provided at this hospital is always lacking. The only reason we were come back is because there's no other option for miles. They have lots they could improve on!!

I could not wait for discharge so I would definitely recommend the emergency room, SICU and MICU...other than that I would seek emergent care elsewhere.

If you have an allergic reaction to something - it's safe to go here. If you broke a bone, it's safe to go here. If you have migraines, it might be safe to go here. But when it comes to your GI tract, go to Memorial Pembroke Pines, Memorial West or Memorial Miramar. For some reason, they don't cater to GI Tract pain. Think before you go to any of these hospitals. Some are better than the others. Staff is pretty nice here. You may get a nurse that's been on a long shift and she will speak over you or cut you off. Been there, done that. It's a crapshoot what you'll get. Have some grace - they are not your family and will not treat you as such.

I was there for less than an hour and had no tests done. I was given a prescription for antibiotics. I can get no answers from the Care Center or the doctor. I will be getting my lawyer involved and calling the local news so they can look into this scam center. Someone needs to stop this place. They are extremely thorough which reminds me of places like Boston Mass General. I ended up being admitted and they took the time to order tests that Memorial West ignored. They found things that I had no idea were going on, including pneumonia. The MRI showed a torn rotator cup from the fall. Knowledge is power. Now I can see the right specialists in order to get help. I'm very grateful that my primary Dr. Scott Edele highly recommended Memorial Regional. Otherwise I would have continued to tough it out at home. The place is clean, organized and efficient. My nurse, Merline was warm, helpful, and professional.

The doctors and other staff moved to HCA Florida University Hospital in Davie, FL. I'm writing about my experience in 2020 at the Labor & Delivery ward, when the hospital was still open. My OB had an office nearby and this hospital was affiliated to that office. Checking into the hospital was easy and quick. They assessed my vitals and everything was going good. Only two issues I ran into initially; the nurse was nice but the IV insertion failed because it was in my forearm. Secondly, the doctor on duty had horrible bedside manner; since I wasn't progressing with birth yet, he said, "what do you want to do?" He had Dr. House's demeanor. I was in immense pain and in labor, obviously I wanted to stay! Aside from that, the rest of the staff, birthing experience, and hospital stay was good. I had a much better experience at the new HCA University Hospital in Davie, FL.

I begged them to take him to another hospital because of the horrible stories I've heard about this place. They said they couldn't take him anywhere but here because it was the closest. The ER doctor was terrific. My FIL had to be admitted so it's been a couple of days now on the third floor. His nurse, Lisa, is a nightmare. The minute she saw me, she barked at me. He is in isolation and the room he is in has a marked door but when I opened it and she was sitting across the hall and yelled at me not to use that door and told me to go to another door, which I did. I didn't know she was a nurse because she was wearing a long sleeve T-shirt. My Brother In Law was here and stayed with me for a few hours then left. My FIL doesn't need much help because he sleeps a lot but was asking me about his catheter so I walked to the nurses station to ask for his nurse. After quite a while (maybe 15 minutes or half an hour - it's hard to tell since he didn't have the tv on so time goes by slowly) my FIL was asking again about the catheter so I told him to push the nurse button. A few minutes later, Lisa came busting in the door (the door she told me no one was allowed to use) along with a trainee and started yelling at me. She asked why I kept calling and calling so I told her I only asked for her two times and I don't consider that calling and calling. She said she was with another patient and this was not an emergency. I told her to go back to the other patient then and come back later and that we were just wondering about the catheter and his antibiotic. She had a bottle of my FIL's antibiotic in her hand and put it in my face and shook it violently at me. She began screaming at me now and said she was going to have me thrown out of the hospital by security. FOR USING THE CALL BUTTON! REALLY? Isn't that what it is there for? I am 66 years old and 5' tall, she was standing over me like she was going to hit me and I got scared. So, I sat down in the chair and starting texting my husband. I mumbled under my breath "Attitude" and she yelled at me that she doesn't have an attitude. After she left the room, I just started bawling because I was so scared. No one has screamed at me like she did since I was a child and my mom got mad. So, it was very traumatizing to be yelled at like that. I would not recommended anyone coming to this hospital ever. I'm sure most of the nurses are not as mean, rude and scary as this big girl, Lisa, but if they allow her to treat me like that in front of a trainee and no one discourages her then she will do it to you too. Maybe she trained the new girl to yell at her patients too since she got away with yelling at me. I called the hospital to speak to a Patient Advocate but had to leave a message. So, I am waiting to speak to someone about her behavior. Do yourself a favor and find another hospital and avoid being treated like an animal. I would like to take my FIL to another hospital but he is too weak and I don't want to put him through a transport. To let you know another thing...only one person has been in this room all day. I've been here since this morning and now it is 5:30 PM. One girl came in to bring his lunch and to take his vitals. I asked her for a toothbrush and toothpaste for him and she acted like she was going to bring it to him but that's been hours ago and no toothbrush or toothpaste yet. I'm afraid to go to the nurses station to ask for it but I guess I have to. Either that or wait until tomorrow to bring it from home. I see from other reviews that Lisa is an incompetent nurse. She treats all of her patients with rude behavior. If you get Lisa as a nurse, demand a different nurse or else your loved one will be treated with disrespect and you will be lucky if she even shows up to help. This happened a little while ago. Someone was supposed to call me after they spoke to Lisa but of course, no one ever did. That tells me how important it is to the entire hospital. The Surgeon, Dr. Alfredo Rego, visited me before and after the surgery, He and his colleagues, Dr. Subramanian, Dr. Kenigsberg, Dr. Chaudry, and Dr. Tache, (sorry if I missed anyone) comprised an excellent and professional team dedicated to my recovery. The nursing staff in the Cardiovasculat Intensive Care Unit ("CVICU") was just as amazing. They were professional, kind, compassionate, responsive, and dedicated. Particular mention goes to (and sorry if I missed anyone) Adriana C. and Lucnise A. from the night shift; and Elienay J., Christian N., and Aaliyah from the day shift. Although I don't wish health issues on anyone, if in fact you need heart surgery, I would most definitely recommend the team at Westside.

It was not until approximately 7:00 PM that another nurse finally brought me water along with my food. Around 6:00 PM, I used the call button because I needed assistance. My call was not answered, and no one came to check on me. My husband eventually went to find Nurse Racquel, who reportedly stated that she was too busy. After waiting approximately 20 more minutes without assistance, my husband tried to help me himself. During this process, a monitor alarm was triggered. Despite the alarm sounding and Nurse Racquel being near the doorway, no one came to assist or even turn off the alarm. As a result of the delay, I was unable to hold my bladder any longer and ended up urinating on myself and on the shoes of the staff when they finally arrived. This was humiliating and completely avoidable had assistance been provided when requested. Additionally, I did not receive pain medication until approximately 8:00 PM, despite being in significant discomfort. I found this level of care unacceptable. Patients should be treated with respect, have their basic needs addressed in a timely manner, and receive prompt assistance when requesting help. I ask that this incident be reviewed and addressed appropriately.
