G Force Architectural Conrete
DO NOT USE Paul Gaughan from GForce Architectural Concrete…read more I decided to use GForce following my visits to their other jobs provided by Paul Gaughan and reading the reviews on this site. It was mid-December 2020 when I agreed to proceed following the receipt of a quote from Paul. He asked about colours of concrete and booking a date as he had 15th January open. To do so I needed to pay him 10% deposit upfront which I did. He then asked if he could start work earlier, I agreed and as per payment schedule, a further 40% was paid. Works started on 8th January where the front of my drive was cleared as well as the existing front wall. Hard core rubble had been partially spread. From here on is when delays began to occur, with one excuse after another. Granted that bad weather also affected the timeline which I took into account however whenever there was decent dry weather Paul did not even turn up whilst working on other jobs. Paving work was done at the back of my property and eventually concreting started at the rear patio on 6th March 2021. My recently rendered white walls were left in a terrible state. Paul guaranteed that these would be cleaned once they are jet-washed. Clearly there are visible marks on walls from the colouring used as well as splashed concrete onto the rendered wall. A further 40% payment was demanded immediately and seeing the work progressing I paid. It was not until 24th March that he dropped Kevin (one of his employees) to start building the front wall. This has been partially finished, with the exception of pillars on 5th April. On this same day, Paul calls to demand payment for the wall claiming this was extra work not quoted for. Fortunately, I retained a copy of the quote and our exchanges via Whats App to confirm my version. Paul was trying to extort even more money from me. From then on, he came to collect his tools and equipment and only came to my property once to do some preparation work for less than 2 hours on 20th April 2021. Excuses have ranged from bad weather to staff not wanting to work as well as theft from his unit however it is now 18th June 2021 and despite multiple promises, Paul has not returned to complete the unfinished work. After paying 90% of the money to Paul, I have not see any indication of when he plans to complete the work as well as correct a number of items highlighted on the work done so far. Save yourself the stress/trouble/money I have been going through over the last 7 months and avoid G-Force Architectural Concrete like a plague. I heard so many lies (promises to finish the work, call me later/next day) from Paul that it is hard not to portrait him as anything other than a rogue/cowboy trader. He has forced me to take legal action to recover monies paid in advance (foolish of me to trust him) and employing a reputable contractor to finish the work Paul has left. I have now learnt that he has done exactly the same to other people in Leicester. Trading Standards will be informed of my case as well as other customers Paul has obtain money by deceit.

The Project Manager was outstanding, managing appropriately our requirements and the range of crafts (i.e. tanking, plumbing, electricals, decorating, etc.) required to complete the job. We were particularly impressed with the candor/clarity from the project manager for a job we were not familiar with and the quality of the craftsfolk he brought to site. All subsequent documentation/guarantees were supplied immediately upon final payment ensuring that we had continuous insurance coverage. I would thoroughly recommend the Dampco team to anyone looking to professionally convert their basement.
DAMPCO undertook extensive work at my property on the recommendation of my builder. At first the…read morepipe taking water away from the property was sited so that it gushed out gallons of water several times an hour onto the pavement. It is a very busy street and I was legally liable for damage to persons or their property, eg. a woman passing by with a pram on her way to the school opposite the house. The builder finally got the owner of the company to come and view after missed appointments. He said the pipe should be re-routed and that was done. I paid the bill - around the £6,000 mark - immediately after completion of the job. However it then took 6 months for me to get a proper guarantee for the work. The reason this was important was that I had been told that the water pump needed servicing every 6 months and I wanted to ensure that I maintained the conditions of the guarantee. The builder thought that this was rather frequent so I made many phone calls and sent recorded delivery letter to ask about the need to service and the cost from DAMPCO. No reply ever. The company has refused to answer questions and has clearly not shown interest or consideration of customers or aftercare of their products. This is a company which, once it has your cash, you may as well forget about. Damp proofing is a long term and expensive piece of work to undertake so do not take any risks.

He walked through the house with me and guided me through what needed doing. We went room by room, and answered all my questions in detail. Mace Electrical quoted and there was no pressure from them and gave me quotes for different options which was great especially on a budget. We had no doubt in the capability, professionalism, knowledge and approachability Simon showed us. Through the house rewire, Simon kept me updated and gave me options when small issues cropped up due to changes from other trades also working on the house, he had a great working relationship with other trades as well. We decided due to how Simon was, we went ahead and had extras done in terms of outside electrics to the garage, this was due to trusting Simon on his reasonable pricing. On the day of the rewire being completed, I had a walk through the house with Simon to have everything explained and shown the new changes, most importantly all certificates were sent direct to me by the end of the day. Simon went above and beyond my expectations and I would not be going anywhere else for electrics in the future. I would be happy to give Simon (Mase Electic) as a recommendation to anyone who needs anything doing electrical. Trustworthy, reliable, approachable and confident in the service he delivers

I was prepared not to hear anything for perhaps a few days, but they had the courtesy to give us a call and explain that they were still waiting for an answer but they would get back to us as soon as possible, this was much nicer than being left waiting with no explanation. From a buyers perspective I would highly recommend Spencers as they seemed very fair and professional in all our dealings with them.
