Service manager refused to do an alignment on my truck siting "we don't work on big jacked up trucks". After I pointed out that it was a stock size tire and pointed to a literally identical model with the same stock tire size for sale in their lot, he was completely flabbergasted and had no idea. I asked him how they do alignments on several models of trucks that Ford ships with same size ties and he said he didn't know and backpedaled saying their machine had a maximum size of 33" tires. So apparently if you own a Super Duty, Bronco, F150 or Ranger they can't work on it. Plus their service tech left all their tags all over the inside, grease marks on my console and just slapped a new oil change sticker next to the old one instead of peeling it off. I had cold air before taking my car to this mom and pop shop, now the green stuff I told them about in the grill WAS MY ONLY CONCERN, THE HEAT AND AIR WORKED! Jeff (an older man that wears glasses with 90% white/gray hair that sits and the service desk and is extremely sarcastic along side with a woman with dark hair who wears glasses and another man named Ryan who I mentioned earlier. James Collins Ford can provide the text I wrote in the box online when I booked the appointment as they confirmed the misdiagnosis along with a quote for me to pay what they misdiagnosed! I'm livid I paid 2k for an oil change, rotors & brakes & confirmed with Ryan that I'm paying to FIX EVERYTHING & I have absolutely no cold air. I'm a mom with 2 boys in sports and it's getting hot outside! I was adamant about getting my vehicle fixed fully before March and these people literally played with me & my money! I am very passionate about my money y'all these people didn't even diagnose my car the 1st time they had it because the charge is not on the receipt !!!! Reminding yall I confirmed with Ryan to FIX EVERYTHING FOR 2K !!!! BUT GUESS WHAT HERE I AM WITH NO COLD AIR WHEN THE INITIAL ISSUE WAS ONLY A GREEN LEAKING SUBSTANCE IN THE GRILL I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT, ROTORS AND BRAKES (tire rotation they blatantly did not do) and the oil change. So after the other Jeff( so so nice and diffused situation) wears glasses and has darker hair explained that if I mentioned this during my 1st appointment and it wasn't taken care of then it indeed will be their fault ! He admitted that! I left my car there because I needed to know why my cold air doesn't work after paying 2k to "fix everything" They tell me I have a leaking condenser and it'll be 1,028 to fix and I have $80 in my acct toward a service so it'll bring my total to 940+ for me to pay after I just payed 2k to fix everything. Look at my receipts below and don't let them play with you ! This is embarrassing and they should be calling me to fix my leaking condenser for free because Virginia Payne (get on their site to see her) looked me in my eyes and told me they misdiagnosed my vehicle and want me to pay for the misdiagnosis because it would still be the price if they didn't misdiagnosed. The salesmen do a great job of paying attention to what I need and customize the perfect finance package for me. I've also been bringing my vehicles here for service for over 15 years. I contacted this dealership as a recommendation from someone who' bought a few trucks from the,. The process was very smooth working with knowledgable staff as I had many questions. They were patient, addressed all my concerns and ensured that I order the truck that I needed, and got the best price. It took a little longer as I don't live in the area, so the truck had to be drop shipped out to my area. With the experience I had, well worth waiting a week longer. Multiple Issues. REALLY done with this place. We bought a vehicle at this dealership on a weekday. We got a good price, but we also paid for ALL the extra warranties and full prepaid service coupon books, including road hazard, everything. They cannot complain that they didn't sell a whole package to us - a dealership dream. The vehicle was 'delivered' dirty and no one went over the car with us at all. Not one iota. I still don't know how to work a bunch of stuff on the car and there is no manual. Also, the car is listed as another color on all our paperwork. Have to wonder if other info matches. Nonetheless, due to the delivery issues, we were gushingly granted rights to a 'free detail wash' on it. We were then offered another free detail wash for something else that went wrong at our first service. Still, they've never managed to actually DO THAT. I've now asked a few times to get the vehicle cleaned but we are always brushed off. Fast forward to my service this past week. We had a tire run over a piece of metal. I had to have the spare put on roadside and then come in for a new tire and my regular service, which was due. When I mentioned the tire on the phone the guy was like...ohhhh well...I dunno if we have that in stock - what type of tire is it? OMG dude - you've two days notice and all my info in the computer in front of you. The vehicle is not with me right now, you can't look this up and ORDER said tire before my appointment? I arrive two days later, another person is at the helm. I say I'm there for service and a new tire. "Ohh well I HOPE we have that in stock", he says! Awesome. I also point out that at my last tire rotation someone either forgot to put a lug nut on or didn't tighten it, as it was missing when I got home. Ahem. I mention the car detail to him, it's been nearly a YEAR now since I've been promised not one but TWO washes and he says WELLLL I dunno, we don't have time for thaaaat, you're going to have to leave the car ALLLL day - we don't do that here, we don't have room to do that here!!! We have to send that out to do that, you have to SCHEDULE THAT!!! WOW. Just WOW. This is the first I've heard of having to schedule what is clearly a game of customer appeasement. Something isn't done right and they promise you a free car wash detail - so you accept whatever crap just happened and figure it'll be nice to have your car cleaned up at least - BUT THAT'S JUST NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. And maybe it's petty, but seriously: DO NOT OFFER PERKS TO CUSTOMERS YOU HAVE EVERY INTENTION OF AVOIDING. It deeply pisses them off. And while I was annoyed at the time, I just let it go at the time (again) and said Ok. So, in the meantime I wait for the car to be done in the waiting room. I never mind waiting, except in this instance it is the most uncomfortable waiting room I've ever. The chairs must be built for Oompa Loompas. There is some weird arm rest ratio that leaves your arms hanging and you in an awkward forward position the entire time. It was murder. Others were shifting and complaining, too. I want everyone in their staff to sit in those chairs without getting up for an hour and then let me know just how great that experience is. NEVER AGAIN. Now Mr. 'We can't wash your vehicle' (and will never wash your vehicle) comes in and now he's all nice... weird... like now he wants me to suddenly have a good experience so I leave happy. Then he mentions I can take my service coupons elsewhere if I want. Oh really? What a weird thing to say to a customer whose business you claim to want to have. Is he talking about the car wash? Because I'm promised this at THIS dealership for things they did or didn't do - I'm just supposed to go to some other dealer and expect that or use other coupons? Geez, worst communication ever. But the best part is last. I pick up my vehicle and when I get to work I see that THEY LEFT THE DIRTY SPARE TIRE AND RUSTY RIM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. !!!!***INSIDE***!!!! Not hung back underneath the vehicle where it belongs. WHO DOES THAT? What am I, a 55 year old disabled woman, supposed to do with this? Lay on the ground and try to wrestle a heavy rusty rim and dirty tire up underneath a vehicle myself? I'm done. I call the dealership but no one answers in service. I call to talk to 'Mrs Collins' and I get the run around, and then I'm told she's not answering her phone. Perfect. I'll just tell it to Yelp and Google and on my Ford survey then: NOT LOVING IT. read more

This dealer is not as big as the others's, but they had what I wanted, and they were talking my language. Like big discount, I saved exactly $1700 more than the best deal at the bigger dealers. I got a really nice, clean loaner car , so there was no waiting.Picked it up the nexy day and with my Ford ESP it only cost me $50, since I bought the car there ,they pay half of the deductible. My salesmen ,Al Jones is a manager now, but he still goes that extra mile to make sure I'm happy. I made an online service appointment with James Collins Ford and included specific questions I needed information on before my appointment. I decided that I wasn't comfortable just leaving the questions in the online service request, so I decided to call as well. I called two different times the same day and could not get an answer. I never received a follow up email or phone call. I decided not to show up to my appointment and still no sign of life from James Collins Ford. We were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary on a trip to Louisville. We experienced some problem with my F-150 pickup. We called early Saturday the 21st of September to see if we could get an appointment . I talked to the service adviser John. He was able to fit us into their schedu le that morning at 11:00 a.m. We arrived and John and I talked about want was happening with our truck, They ran a code check, found the problem(throttle body ), were able to repair it in about an hour. I was very pleased with the service of this dealership and with the way we were helped being from out of town. I would highly recommend this dealership for service. I had an awesome experience with James Collins Ford and absolutely love my (new to me) 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid. I actually purchased the vehicle a few weeks ago, but wanted to drive for a while before writing a review. I was fortunate to work with Kristen who was very knowledgeable, assertive (not aggressive) and friendly. She set me up with a certified package that surpassed my expectations. Since the purchase date she has also followed up a few times to make sure that I was enjoying all the benefits and they made sense. (I've never programmed my car to connect with bluetooth for example!) Also Kristen made sure my car was detailed with a full tank before I pulled off the lot! :) I couldn't be happier with the Ford Fusion Hybrid. It's incredibly quiet (you don't even realize it's running!) I'm in outside sales and travel locally quite a bit. Took me over 2 weeks to need to fill up since I get an incredible 515+ miles on a full tank!! I typically don't do reviews but I just had such a great experience that I really wanted to share. I brought my Ford Ranger in for an oil change, have a transmission leaked addressed and for my brakes to be checked. Appointment made for a Thursday at 10 am and I called at 1 pm to check on truck. I was told after being on hold for awhile that the truck has not been serviced yet. I explained that I expected to know something by 1 pm since I dropped the truck off at 10 am. I heard from Ford service at 3:35 pm and was asked to leave the truck over night so his mechanic could look at the transmission leak first thing in the morning. I called Friday morning at 10:30 am only to be told the truck has not been looked at yet. I had to again explain that I agreed to leave the truck overnight because I was told it would be looked at first thing in the morning. At 1:30 pm I was called by service and told the transmission leak required a gasket that they did not have nor could they find one in the area. Good news given to me was that it was covered by warranty since this leak was first fixed in Aug 2019 by them and would be covered. So now they needed the truck until Monday to get the part from Indianapolis. Monday morning I was called at 9 am to say the truck was ready. I picked the truck up at 3 pm and took it to another Ford dealer to have the brakes fixed. James Collins Ford never returned my call from 11 am to get a firm price on the brake job they recommended so I decided to try another dealer with the brakes. CH read more

Very honest dealership. I brought my car in for full service. Having problems with the brake light coming on. They could have taken me for a ride with a large bill. They were very honest. All it needed was fluid. In the process a small part was broken and they were straight up said they damaged it and will replace it. It is nice to find a repair shop with such integrity. read more

Dirt bags, stay away! I went there to look at a 2022 Ford Maverick. No sales reps would give me the time of day and their showroom holds maybe 2 cars. They had a few Mavericks in stock offered at top retail prices plus 10% due to the low availability. I get that, so here is where the shenanigans really start. They have a few "executive" cars that were slightly used(under 8000 miles). They had a base model front wheel drive Maverick with 7700 miles(used car) I was interested in. MSRP: on the Ford website for a base model is $19,995 NEW. This Maverick was base model/stripped and in used condition by anyone's definition. It should go for $17,000 on a good day. They wanted... get this... $37,000 for it! I started to laugh. They said you'll have to wait 10 months if you order one, and that is when the order window opens. If you want one now, that's the price. By the way a fully optioned AWD XLT is listed at $38,000 on Ford's website. Talk about gauging the market. NO SALE WITH THESE DIRT BAGS... EVER. read more

Downtown Ford is the only place I will take my Ford vehicles for service. The service department is excellent and Phill never steers you wrong. Not once have I ever been pressured to do service that was not needed and on several occasions they recommend that I wait on some service since it was not really needed at the time, I have been taking my vehicles here since 1999 and will continue for as long as I own a Ford product. THE MOST AWFUL EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!! My husband and I went to look at new and used cars. We were greeted on the lot by a salesman who seemed pleasant enough. We found a car we loved and decided to purchase it. Once we were in the office starting the paperwork, the salesman became VERBALLY ABUSIVE when we pointed out a discrepancy on the carfax report that he had not mentioned. The salesman jumped up from his seat and began screaming at my husband "THIS IS BULL! EITHER YOU WANT THE CAR OR NOT!!!". We asked him numerous times to please calm down and talk to us like a decent human being and he just became more rude and irate, yelling and flailing his arms in the air. Again my husband pointed out that he was very interested in the car and would like to purchase IF the salesman could calm down and not be so adversarial. I have had nothing but bad experiences with this dealership and service center. It started with lies from the salesman. There were a few chips on the car that needed to be touched up by their paint department, but instead of scheduling that properly and making sure it happened correctly, the salesman chose to poorly touch up the spots with paint that wasn't even the right color, requiring me to bring the car back and get it done in yet another visit. Then, the car that I ended up purchasing has been subject to numerous recalls. For one in particular, the part was backordered and I was left hanging for months. When I eventually brought it in, they told me it would be about a week. I didn't get my car back for almost a month and never received updates initiated by them. I had to call them to find out what was going on. This morning I was scheduled to take my car in for yet another recall. They always tell me to come in at 8am, which is very inconvenient for me. Then after getting through traffic get to the appointment, the man tells me with a smug grin that they are out of the parts. I got no warning of this and would have loved to have known this was a possibility. He did nothing to apologize or make it right. Do not shop at this dealership or go there for service. I would NOT refer this SORRY service department to my WORST enemy. Dropped car off in AM for minor repair. Later ONLY AFTER I CALLED MYSELF did I learn that the guy (I guess they only had one trained in replacing door handles) would probably not get to it today. This AFTER I got up EARLY on a day off, called first, to get it there early enough to get the job done. IF I had not called MYSELF they would have closed and left me wondering what happened (and without a car for work). THEN had to wait some time for them to "pull my car around" Not calling is part of their mantra. My 80 year old parent has an old Ford she got new years ago. She got a recall a few months back. SHE wanted it taken there. They said they did not have the part for the affected recall but would call and let us know...did they ever call or let us know? Hell no. Never again. Purchased my Taurus from them with about 27,000 miles and was talked into an extended warranty. I encountered a leak in my front tire that I had inspected thinking it was a nail. They found that the aluminum rim was cracked. I discussed on the phone with Downtown Ford and they said to bring it in and they would inspect it to verify it wasn't caused by improper driving or a collision of any sort leading me to believe it would be covered. I knew it had not been damaged and this had to be a faulty rim which I felt confident would be no issue considering I payed for the Ford ESP extended warranty. The service department was rude upon arrival and when I showed them the rim which was perfect with exception of the crack they advised the extended coverage does not cover the wheel and they would do nothing. After some more questioning from me and them saying that this or that could have happened and it was not a defect, I left and advised I would not be back for service or sales there again. The employee in the service department just gave me a smug look and opened the door for me to leave. This is the way they treat a customer that purchased the vehicle from them and has continually serviced there for almost 2 years.
