I chose to have conscious sedation with versed (highly recommended) for the procedure. The procedure went smoothly. My recovery was uneventful and by the 2nd week post-op date my mouth looked like that of a movie star. In fact the procedure went so well that i decided to write this review and am scheduling an appointment to have the tori removed from the other side of my mouth. Dr Spivey took procedural and post operative photos so be sure to request a viewing of them if you are planning to have this treatment. Additionally, Dr. Spivey and his entire staff treated me with professionalism, kindness and a dash of humor. I see Shannon for tooth cleaning, and Dr. Lamoth for tooth fixing. I've often felt you can judge a dentist by the hygenist, and that is certainly true here. Shannon is AWESOME. I have had other tooth cleaners absolutely shred my gums in the process, but Shannon is always so gentle and manages to clear the crap off my teeth without making me bleed. She has a really great personality and is fun to talk to. Also, she has the CUTEST dogs. OMG! I also totally heart Dr. Lamoth and his assistant Patty. I'm a basket case in the dentist chair, totally freaked out about pain. He never hurts! and administers novacaine with minimal discomfort. Patty is his right hand man, and is great to deal with. Both of them have terrific senses of humor, and I always spend way more time laughing than worrying. Deb is the red haired check-out lady and she's always really friendly and helpful. She's very knowledgeable about dealing with insurance, which I totally appreciate. The other front desk/administrative staff I've dealt with have also been really friendly. Finally, the office it's self is really beautiful. Cheerful colors and white beadboard cabinets give it a laid back, beachy feel. I like how homey it is, rather than cold and clinical like so many professional offices. What led me to choose PDS initially is they don't do any mercury fillings. I realize this is a controversial topic, but personally I prefer to avoid the stuff and am glad I never have to argue about it. What has kept me as a patient is the awesome, good humored staff and their gentle work. The ONLY thing I don't like about this place is their logo. Sorry, my first career was as a graphic/web designer and clip-art logos rub me the wrong way. Otherwise, these guys can do no wrong!

His calm demeanor is wonderful, absolutely, then couple that with his skill, knowledge, and inventive nature makes him a "miracle worker". I had an emergency on a Friday night (as my front tooth decided to leave), and of course, during after hours. I left a message on the Doctor Vitali's emergency number, but told him not to hurry in, as the emergency was mine, without pain or blood, and wanted him home with his family. Sure enough his Office Manager, Leanne, phoned me first thing Monday morning and scheduled me in that afternoon for a consult. After the consult it was decided that a bridge was needed as both front teeth were in turmoil. This was shocking to hear, but I have faith in this man, from past experiences; yes, was a bit frightened, Both teeth were removed on Holy Thursday and the Monday after Easter, I had a bridge with beautiful teeth. PAINLESS and secure. It had been a long time to eat something with such comfort and normalcy. I forgot what that was like and so very thrilled beyond understanding how he made this happen, but it is truthful. I am so happy., Dr. Bondar's staff has to be commended also, just has to be. Leanne works her magic with running the office and accommodating their patients with regular appointments and those with emergence. I feel really comfortable with her at the helm, always wanting to help and please in a sincere kind and caring way. Federica and Shannon are the doctor's Assistants and where does he get these personal, capable staff members is beyond me. Their gracious persona, and for real caring attitude is very comforting. They made me forget what I was there for. I am scheduled for a cleaning with their Hygienist and have not yet met her, but I've seen her usher her patients out with warmth, and genuine feelings of care, so I am sure, she will be added to my happiness with Smile Design.
