I waited over an hour to be seen, and unfortunately, the experience only became more frustrating…read morefrom there. I was prescribed the wrong CAM boot. I was given the short CAM boot, which is generally more appropriate for foot-related issues. My issue was with my ankle joint, so I needed a more restrictive, tall CAM boot to provide adequate ankle support and limit movement. I also felt that my concerns were not being listened to. When I tried to contact the office afterward, I repeatedly got a busy signal, making it extremely difficult to reach anyone. I was also diagnosed with posterior tibial tendon issues, but I was able to stand on my tiptoes. In my experience, the actual problem was related to my ankle joint, so I was very frustrated that my concerns were not addressed appropriately. If you are being seen for a workers' compensation injury, I would also recommend being very careful and confirming how your claim is being handled. In my experience, this office was not great with workers' compensation and attempted to bill my regular health insurance instead of workers' compensation. Make sure you clarify this with the office beforehand. The office itself was also overcrowded, which contributed to the long wait. There is no water fountain, there are steps to enter the office, and the bathroom is also up one step, which may be difficult for patients with mobility issues. On top of that, the exam rooms were extremely cold with the air conditioning blasting. Overall, I left feeling frustrated and unheard. I would not recommend this office based on my experience, especially if you need timely care, clear communication, or are dealing with a workers' compensation injury.

Where to start? This doctor is disrespectful and condescending, all while using a fake "nice" tone…read more She kept cutting me off and not allowing me to finish sentences, whether I was asking a question or answering one. She also kind of rolled her eyes and seemed exasperated by basic questions. It was like she was reacting to something that wasn't happening, or had already decided what I was thinking or something before I even walked in the room. As a Black woman, I am usually prepared for the possibility of bad treatment by medical professionals; I cannot confirm that was the issue here but it feels like a distinct possibilty. This office also made me wait about an hour and a half past one of my scheduled appts. Dr. Amar seemed offended that I questioned the wait and was visibly angry and more rude with me during that appointment. As far as Dr. Amar's expertise goes, she made my first set of orthotics so incorrectly that they felt like I was wearing nothing at all. I only went to Dr. Amar while my regular ortho was on maternity leave, and when I took the orthotics to my regular ortho, she couldn't understand how/why the orthotics would be made the way they were. I took them back to Dr. Amar and asked to have them remade/adjusted. She once again seemed offended and speculated that I would have to pay for them a second time, which, of course, was false. Once they were finally remade and I went to pick them up, she was rude once again about a simple and standard question about cutting the orthotics down to size. She said some weird thing about the "logic" I was using, based on me literally asking if she could cut them down a tiny bit for shoe comfort, or if that would affect their efficacy at all. I literally had to re-ask and rephrase the same basic question 4 or 5 times before she would answer. She continued to speak to me as if she believes I am stupid, telling me that if anything is cut off of the orthotics, it can't be put back. ...OK? That's kind of the point, no? It was maddening. To sum it up: Dr. Amar is bad at her job, her office is not run well, and I do not recommend her at all.

I asked for a test and oral medicine to ensure the condition didn't spread and was eradicated completely. The doctor denied both the test and the medicine and suggested the OTCs I was already using because she "didn't see anything". Meanwhile my feet were getting burning sensations that only started AFTER the class where I was barefoot. I never had that before in my life. The condition went away then came back and I AGAIN contacted this office asking for oral medication or, at least, a test so that I couldn't be denied the oral medication I wanted. Again, both were denied and the doctor prescribed a topical medication that didn't work. So, suffice it to say, I won't be returning to this office. I've spent more money and been exposed to way more medication-toxins than I would have been if the office had just honored my original request.

She's attentive and very helpful. It's not a 1,2,3 kind of doctor. We actually talk and I like that she listens. The office communicates with you whenever there's a problem. My second appointment they notified me that they would have to reschedule due the weather being bad and I appreciate that. Would definitely recommend.
