Phillip helped my husband pick the most stunning ring for our engagement what's special about this place is the relationship you're able to build with the salespeople! I don't know James, but I do know Phillip every photo I've ever brought in small details and all he was about to find away to get me something similar which was the case with my wedding band which I got to help pick! I needed to have the jewelry from my mother's estate appraised and I looked at the reviews for all the appraisers in Memphis. Besides the high ratings that it received, I had been familiar with Gattas as long as I can remember.. and that's a long time. I have only heard good things about them and when I spoke with James about doing the appraisal, I was very impressed with his friendly, genuine manner and knowledge of his trade. He told me how long it would take to finish the appraisal, and it was ready when he said it would be and the appraisal itself was nicely done up with documents and information. Short story: I 100%, without any hesitation, recommend James Gattas Jewelers for any jewelry needs you may have. Long story: My fiance bought a size 6 engagement ring, but I am a 4.5. Needless to say, when he proposed, the ring almost fell off my finger. We were absolutely devastated. The first jeweler we went to said we could not resize it to what I needed. We then read reviews of James Gattas Jewelers online, and decided to take it in. When we walked in the store, we were immediately helped by one of the kindest sales workers I have ever met, a lovely gentleman named Dylan. I had read online that resizing my ring down 1.5 sizes might be complicated given that the ring was platinum with delicate diamonds halfway around the band on each side. Dylan was both reassuring and competent, and told me that my ring would be perfect when they returned it to me. He said they would check all the diamonds to make sure they were securely in place and looked the same as when I brought it in. I trusted him completely. To make matters more complicated, we brought the ring in on 12/20/17. I was going out of town at 6 am on 12/26, and I needed my ring before I left. I asked if there was any possibility that I could have my ring returned to me before Christmas. The owner, James Gattas, told me that he would personally take care of it, and I would have my ring by Christmas Eve afternoon. Like Dylan, he was extremely reassuring and helpful. Imagine my surprise, then, when I got a call on 12/22 mid-afternoon telling me that my ring was finished, a full 2 days early! When I picked it up, it looked exactly the same as when I dropped it off- it was beautifully and perfectly resized. I am not an emotional person, but I had tears in my eyes when James Gattas shook my hand and told me Merry Christmas. I was very pleased with my experience at this store. I came in to replace the chain of a necklace that was originally from James Gattas even though I did not purchase it here myself, so this was my first personal experience with the store. First, I wanted the exact chain - length, material, design, and width - and I had no idea what those factors were exactly. Both times I came in - initially and the second time - sales managers knew by sight that the chain was a particular chain, white gold with a 1.2 width as opposed to even slightly larger versions in a 1.4 or 1.6. Because the chain was not in stock, they ordered it for me and had it in the next day, before 5pm (important to me since it was July 4th weekend and I was leaving Memphis early Saturday morning). Unfortunately, when I came in to pick it up the next day, the retailers had sent JG the wrong width (1.4 instead of 1.2) and the sales clerk and jewelry specialist did everything they could to fix it. The JG order sheet to the retailer DID say the correct width so this was clearly not their fault. Even so, they checked all of the chains in store again to make sure there wasn't a substitute (even on the displays), and then offered to reorder the correct chain and have it sent to me after ensuring it was the appropriate width. They did this seamlessly, and it was fedex'ed to me in another city since I had already left, free of charge, by the deadline I needed to have it. Overall, the company had wonderful communication both in person and on the phone when my orders were ready or being shipped (including shipping numbers), great conflict resolution, and really knowledgeable customer servants. I was please overall with selection in the store as well (lots of sales on gorgeous necklaces) and I promised to do any business I have in the future with them as well. And I will. Getting engaged is a VERY stressful time in a man's life, even when his potential bride is the love of his life. Phillip, Jay, and the staff at Gattas Jewelers went above and beyond to make the ring buying process as painless as possible, which was not easy for me. I had the stones from my Mother's engagement ring re-set in a custom band, which Phillip helped my (now) wife and I design- gold band with 5 stones set in white gold- shared prong. It was a pretty specific order, but they had it completed in substantially less time than I expected, and kept me posted on the progress anytime there was news to report (with pictures and videos). I grew up in Memphis, but now live in New Orleans, so there were geographic barriers that could have complicated things, but it was not an issue whatsoever. The ring was shipped to me promptly and securely. That part made me nervous, but looking back on it, there was nothing to worry about. The final product was better than we could have hoped for- absolutely perfect. We also purchased her wedding band and my ring from Gattas, and I now refuse to purchase jewelry from anywhere else. If you want to get the best quality, service, and price, then go to Gattas Jewelers. If I am wrong, you can have my wife- I am that confident... But seriously, they are the best, and we truly appreciate their professionalism and how committed they were to providing us the best possible experience. read more

Great customer service and amazing selection of jewelry. They have everything from Pandora charms to huge engagement rings. One of the prongs on my engagement ring was loose (not purchased here) and they were able to fix it perfectly. I have had my rings cleaned here several times as well, and they always do a great job. read more

The rude woman at the front door was unnecessarily condescending and remarkably unhelpful. I came in here in search of pandora beads and did not know where to look for them. No one spoke to me to even say they'd help me soon. I walked around the store and didn't notice the sign for that counter. I found the woman at the front door again and asked if they carried pandora beads and was met with a horrible glare and a rushed gesture as she said, "I don't know. Can you not see that sign in the corner?" I hadn't noticed it, but that's no reason to talk to a person like that. Then, the woman at the counter rushed me and was impatient when I asked to look at different bead options. Maybe they've had a long day and are tired of Christmas shoppers, but that's still not how a customer should be treated. It's unfortunate that they were so rude. I will not be returning to this store. read more

I was recommended this jewelers by our hotel receptionist. They had Pandora charms which are not available in the UK, so I was really pleased with the choices on offer. The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. I can highly recommend them. read more
