Recently went in for my annual check up with Dr Smith. Person that checked me in was very…read morepersonable as was the nurse that took me back and went thru the initial questions. Annual was thorough, all questions were answered. I did not feel rushed. I did not wait a long time in the waiting area and never have. I know in that business, you can't control all the visits as some may seem simple but end up complicated. I don't mind waiting longer, if needed, as I know the care and focus being provided to someone else will also be extended to me. The person that checked me out was friendly and efficient.

First I want to say Dr Wanee was very nice, and my child really liked him. This does not reflect…read morehis care. I would give him 3.5-4 stars. My child's appt was at 3:40pm, I had to leave work early in order to make the offices time frame as they only schedule physicals at their convenience. We arrived on time. This was our first time at this office as my Md's office, had suddenly closed last year. Trying to establish my children in a practice. My fault, I had made the appts at work, I forgot to write down the information, and had expected a call as when I made the appt, asked for a reminder call. I did get a reminder call about 1 child's appt, but not the other one, they had a 4:00pm appt that day. I had to cancel that and reschedule. So after waiting, at almost 4:00pm I went up to the office window and asked if they always ran late, and when would we be seeing the MD. I had a Zumba class I really needed to go to, it started at 4:30pm. Had they even started 10-15 minutes late, I could have still gone. So when we were called back at between 4:05-4:10, I was already not happy and mentioned that fact. At that time I noted the office staff sitting in ear shot make a comment. Dr Wanee came in to the room a few minutes after the nurse finished her assessment. At this time I found out all the records, on CD, I had brought in were worthless at this office. I find it unbelievable that in this day and age, you cannot download a CD with medical information. Dr Wanee was very professional and I liked him a lot, as did my child. I left the room before the physical as I felt my child needed that privacy. I went and made an appt for my child to get the next vaccine in the series. Dr Wanee had told me that I did not have to make an appt, we could just walk in, or I could make an appt. I made a f/u for something else and then talked to the person at the desk about the scheduling or not scheduling the f/u immunization. She stated I needed an appt as the Lab did this. I asked if it was usually a long wait, she said it might or might not be. She had a bit of an attitude as she spoke to me. She was also the one I had notice make the comment when I mentioned not being able to go to my class that night d/t waiting for the appt so long. I was not very thrilled with this persons attitude but let it go. I went outside to make a call, and wait for my child. I did not know that my child had not come out because they were waiting for me to come in and sign the release to get the vaccine. I do not understand why someone in the office did not #1 come and get me #2 call my phone. So again my child waited another 10 minutes or more in the room, waiting for me to come sign the papers. Really?? So when I went in, I was highly stressed out. I signed the papers and asked about the f/u, I mentioned that I was told 2 different things. The nurse in the room at that time told me a NURSE, not the LAB gives the injections. So I said "Well the B---- up front told me...." ( I agree I should not have said that,) I am sorry but the person that made the appt did have an attitude, and I was no longer in a pleasant mood. At that moment the nurse suddenly left the room, and refused to come back. I was baffled. I have never had anyone just leave, it was very unprofessional. Regardless of vocabulary, you do not just abandon your duty to treat your patient. I was stunned, she could have told me she did not like that language, or anything, SHE JUST LEFT, ABANDONED HER PATIENT. Finally another person came in, started putting on gloves, I told her the person up front had an attitude, she too just left the room! I have never been in an Md's office and been treated so shabbily. Apparently the nurses can just leave the room if you offend them. However the staff is free to offend the patients and their families as much as they wish to, by making them wait, abandoning them whenever they feel offended and can have an attitude if they want too. I was FURIOUS by this time. Dr Wanee came in and told me I had upset the staff. WOW!!!!!! You have got to be kidding me, this was the most unpleasant, unprofessional Doctors office I had ever been in. I left, told him to give my kid the injection and not to worry we will NEVER BE BACK. I understand that my behavior was not the best. HOWEVER, as a PAYING CUSTOMER, I am appalled at the service delivered by this staff. If you come in and it is not your best day, be prepared to be talked down to, and god forbid you find anything unpleasant and tell them! As it is okay for them, but you had better be on your best behavior or else you will be walked out on and refused service. Sincerely. A Person who will never go back to this unprofessional office.

I was followed by Anna Edwards, MD, a family practitioner with Community Health Network, for a…read moreperiod of about three years until her subsequent marriage and birth of another child led to her leaving the practice to focus on parenting for a bit. I've decided to edit my review because, upon reflection, I realized that my review of her as a physician was being tainted by my concerns about the overall practice. While she certainly had an influence of practice standards, ultimately some of my negative experiences occurred as she was transitioning out. Thus, she's not really to blame. Truthfully, I loved working with Dr. Edwards. She was my second physician with the practice and I immediately felt a click with her as we shared similar personalities. She also tapped quickly into my resistance to seeking help and worked hard to build trust. I became a "priority" for her and she made it well known that if I called I was to get through and to get scheduled. There's no question that she went above and beyond with me on several occasions, though I've never been one to go to the doctor on an incredibly regular basis. She made note once of probably trusting my own opinions about my care, I liked that she was also confident enough to challenge me when necessary. By the time we did actually have a semi-emergency once, I trusted her enough to follow-up on a urology referral for which I was truly hesitant. It's difficult to get my trust and Dr. Edwards truly had it. I believed she cared and trusted her opinion. As a result, I did more follow-up and grew to feel like my follow-up care was important. It was toward the end that I struggled, moreso with the practice than actually with her. During one time when she was out, I ended up seeing another physician in the practice with whom I just plain didn't click at all. My guess is that this was around the time Dr. Edwards decided to leave, because not long after I received a letter informing me she was leaving the practice and that they didn't have anyone else to follow me. Negligently (and I complained), they referred me to four possibilities - 3 in Hamilton County and one pediatrician. I live in Lawrence and am 50. So, while I had issues with the actual practice I really valued the positive physician/patient relationship I had with Dr. Edwards. I ultimately ended up leaving Community Health Network due to the poor referrals and lack of follow-up, but I think Dr. Edward's influence helped me determine the next appropriate setting and made me better informed to find the right physician for me with whom I continue to be seen.

Dr. Phillips was amazing in my first visit to her. I arrived early and was brought back to an exam room only a minute after sitting down in the waiting room! The service was so great, I had to finish filling out my initial paperwork at the end of my appointment. Dr. Phillips is extremely nice, very personable, and was a pleasure to speak with. It almost seemed like I had been going to her for years -- but it was my first appointment! The location is Broad Ripple is convenient and parking is hidden so it is not consumed by the craziness around Broad Ripple. The office staff was very helpful and extremely nice, I felt very welcome. I'm glad to know if I need a doctor I can turn to the St. Vincent Broad Ripple clinic and Dr. Phillips!

She also does Gyno visits so she is a one stop shop for us females! She seemed concerned about some bruising I had on my leg. She didnt brush it off, but dug into my family history to see if it could have been something serious. I had some testing done that ended up not being covered by insurance. Her staff worked very hard to get insurance to adjust the bill. In the end, after many many hours of hard work from her staff, and many many faxes later, I was able to get the bill dramatically reduced. I brought them flowers to show my gratitude. Its not every clinic that provides such quality of care! They all went the extra mile and that doesn't go unnoticed!
