He spent time snaking sewer line till clog was gone. He even cleaned my slop sink, which was full of Shit, literally. One top of that, he only charged me for the special rate they were having for main line unclogging. Now this worked out great, as my special needs kid was putting baby wipes in toilet, unbeknownst to me. Observation: As I was talking with Maddie, she would pause unnaturally for 10 seconds or more and then answer in a tone and tempo that sounded like she was reading from a teleprompter or AI.

They have no clue how to install HVAC systems. They tried to install the air handling system in my…read morehome and when I had my local inspector inspect the work Tapper and Sons did, he asked me if this was their first install because they did it totally wrong. They used toxic cancer causing glue inside the air supply side that specifically states "NOT FOR INDOOR USE" because I found the tubes in my garbage. When I walked in on them when they installed it, they were all high from the fumes and the owner had actually fell on the floor he told me. When I called to tell them they needed to rip it all out because the township inspector failed the install, Rob told me he has been doing it that way for 25 years. (I said, doing it WRONG for 25 years and making people sick). I am sure his employees will lose as many brain cells as Rob has and in my opinion, they should go to OSHA. I paid them 75 percent up front to install, but once I told him he failed inspection, he would not return my calls, not from any of his phone lines or his own cell, office phone, emails, texts. Total FRAUD . So I am out $15,000 and had to hire a real HVAC company. I actually did the air handling system and vents myself because I got screwed out of all that money and did not have enough. The work I did passed inspection and was told by the township inspector and the new reputable HVAC company that installed the heater unit that my work was 100 times better than what Crapper and Sons did. Stay away from this company, they are clueless, unreliable and criminals in my opinion. Got a lawyer friend of mine to look into it and he said I have a solid case against them, but would cost about the same in lawyer fees and would take a year or more. So Rob know how to play the system and that is about it. He got his money and his new motorcycle as I saw in his social media from what I paid him and that is all he cares about. Total loser.

In fact, thru Shorty's in Indiana, we were quoted a price for the Carrier brand blower motor- $790 In fact, Shorty's told us what an easy fix this particular blower motor was. FYI: Shorty's marks up the prices by 20% to the trade and consumers. https://shortyshvac.com Bruce quoted a price of $2001- the highest estimate we had gotten from 5 companies. What part was being used, an EOM, or an aftermarket? We have no idea what that $ 2001 entailed- a massive markup on the part is what we presume, or an incredible hourly rate. We told him the price from Shorty's and he responded that his supplier was double in price. (WUT??) We bought the part from Shorty's. Had to ask twice via text to learn that Bruce was not interested in installing it for us. " We can only install parts we source and purchase. The installation of customer supplied parts presents issues with insurance coverage and warranty policy." What issues are they Bruce? is it that this job means you are making less money since your supplied parts markup is gone? Am sure that is it. Lack of transparency is not a winner for us. We have a 1 year warranty for this part from Shorty's. This quote and final response was unfortunate, especially knowing that we had opted to move to New Holland HVAC after our contract was over. In this case, we needed to replace a natural gas hot water boiler and the water tank connected to it and we hired LCS. LCS had glowing reviews here on Yelp and I hoped they were true when we decided to hire them. I can say now that those reviews weren't glowing enough. LCS's attention to detail and their commitment to the quality of their work is amazing. Three anecdotes to give you a feel: 1) They were to arrive on day 1 of a 2-day installation at 8:30 am. They arrived at 8:33 and the first words out of their mouth were a sincere apology for being late. 2) At the end of the job, they found that the thermostat they had was not the one they ordered, and they asked to stop by the next day to install the correct one. While here the next day, they noticed a drip from the exhaust vent that that might possibly hint at a thing that, someday, in the exact wrong conditions, could possibly cause a problem with exhaust pressure. And they then spent the next 6 hours very, very, very slightly rerouting the exhaust to correct that fault. 3) Later that same day, at supper time, the new thermostat - which was working fine when they left - failed; it wasn't demanding heat. I called and they were back within 20 minutes with a new thermostat. The system has worked flawlessly since. These guys are a small locally owned small business. Just some guys trying to make a living. Jason, Jonathan and Patrick are the ones I know they're legitimate, honest, responsive professionals who are trying to do it right. Reward them.
