I moved 6 hours away to Lubbock about 9 months ago and flew back just for this appointment as I felt like I had a cavity. After my cleaning, sure enough- I needed a filling, he was wonderful at making sure I was numb and comfortable before doing anything and he's just the nicest guy. They play great music and it really puts you at ease as they kind of hum along. The good: The staff was really helpful when booking the appointment. Melinda & Debbie were great! They called my insurance to make sure all was good, they called me several times to give me updates and they even called me to offer me a more convenient time. Kudos to them. The bad: When I asked if the doctor is going to at least do a visual inspection of my teeth she said that she couldn't because we have to get some x-ray done and/or a teeth cleaning. I am no dentist and I understand that getting an x-ray will help to see if we have something "hidden" going on however you don't NEED an x-ray for a 5 minutes visual inspection just to see if there was anything going on that she'd spot. She did not do it and left. I could have had a big open cavity on the right side of my mouth but I don't know and I have to wait for an opening. They did not even offer me a glass of water/mouth wash to rinse the residue of tartar/products in my mouth after the very light cleaning. Honestly I felt completely insignificant, that they really did not want me there and that they only wanted me to come back to charge me more service to my insurance.

I get this Groupon deal (which is was supposed to by for Crystal creek dental but they sent me to Prime Dental because they were allegedly so booked up) and go in for x-rays and a cleaning and walk out being diagnosed with Periodontal disease, mild bone loss, and two cavities! I then went to two other dentists for second and third opinions and was told that not only do I not have Periodontal disease, I have no bone loss, no cavities, and I have the teeth of a 20-year-old ( I am 35!) This facility should be ashamed of themselves. They ruined my weekend and I walked out a crying mess. They were going to put me through unnecessary shots, numbing, scaling, and other various procedures that I do not even need! Please do not go here. On June 13 at 11:22 I received a call from George from (281) 757 2859 from Plano Dental Loft. I could hear George, but George could not hear me. So he called back from (469) 269-6190 the Plano Dental Loft Number. George indicated the office had a problem and they had flooded but that someone from the office would call me back on Friday to make a new appointment for me. I called Plano Dental Loft at the following dates and times but never got through to anyone. I left a message each time I called for them to please call me back to reschedule my appointment. 8:45 a.m. Friday - June 15th - Not sure they were open yet 9:02 a.m. June 15th - Should be open now. 9:23 a.m. June 15th didn't get through to anyone. 3:07 P.M. June 15th didn't get through to anyone, However, I chalked it up to they possibly didn't get the water issue resolved so I gave up for the day. 11:29 a.m. Monday - June 18th I contacted them again. 12:55 p.m. June 18th contacted again - didn't get through to anyone. June 20th at 10:29 a.m. I texted the phone number they sent my original appointment confirmation on. I asked if they were still in business since no one had ever called me to reschedule my appointment. At 8:08 P.M. I received a message "Sir" we are not taking new Appointments" So I went from having a scheduled appointment, they called me by my name "Steve" to just a "Sir" we are not taking new appointments. From my experience this Dental Office has major issues. I contacted a different dentist office and now have to wait another month to get my annual cleaning done, but at least I don't have to deal with the uncaring, lack of response staff at Plano Dental Loft.

The office is clean, orderly and well lit, well-run, technologically up-to-date and staffed with caring, extremely competent employees. Dr. Payne is a caring man who takes pride in his work. His manner is calming and confident. He takes the time to do his work well and thoroughly, and does so with a good humor and compassion. Although I have been visiting Dr. Payne for cleanings for a few years, yesterday's visit was for a cracked filling that needed to be fixed, the first dental issue I've had in about 20 years. I left my visit yesterday impressed and wanting to do better in my own work (and I'm pretty damn good). I've not been a patient to many dentists, five or six in my moves around, but hands down, Dr. Payne is far and above the best I've known. I hope this helps you make your decision.
