I had told a colleague that I planned to book an appointment there and they told me that they had previously went to this dentist , but advised me against it citing them as "ghetto" and "unprofessional". That didn't shy me away because I am one of those try it for yourself kind of people ya know. Well it was no problem booking an appointment I was able to do so with ease. I scheduled for an examination and a cleaning. I got to the dentist appointment and the receptionist was very rude. She was incredibly short and dismissive. I got into the office I was just told come here go there, do this do that. I proceeded to follow the instructions carelessly. I did NOT get a cleaning. I was then told to schedule an appointment. The appointment was scheduled. 3 days before the appointment it was unexpectedly canceled and never rescheduled.

I didn't wait too too long and the doctor and his in-house staff are very friendly. It was my first time there so they made me feel super comfortable. You can tell he's very experienced and knows what he's doing. He even fixed a little chip on my front tooth without even asking. It wasn't huge and only I could see it, but he simply shaved the tooth down and voila! Perfection. Here's what I have an issue with. Because of my insurance, I was told by the doctor that because the coverage was more than the actual cleaning, there would be no balance. Great! Not... In August, I get a voicemail from the doctor's office saying that I have a balance of $77 and it's due pretty much ASAP. I called and she explained to me something complex about my insurance which ended up being the reason why I have a balance. Not technically their fault, but the doctor shouldn't have told me I was fully covered. What bothered me more was that I suddenly owe this money ASAP, but I'm only hearing about it now over four months later. The woman claims they sent it out but I received nothing. I asked for her to send a new statement out in the mail that way I can review the charges and also have a direct name and address to send the check to. Fast forward a week and I receive mail from them. It's literally one piece of paper with hand written notes on it about when I visited and how much I owe. No official statement, no billing information, nothing. I have no problem paying the bill, but give me some instructions. Why are you making this so difficult?! It's now September and they forwarded the case over to some medical bill collector. I guess we can both take the blame for things, but c'mon... if you want your freaking money help a kid out and at least tell me who to write the check out to. Maybe let me know which address?! Where is the professionalism? Definitely not returning.

Instead of using the tools that usually cause me to get sore bloody gums, he cleaned my teeth with an ultrasonic tooth cleaner and let me tell you.... It was almost 100% pain free. I found this office just by looking for a location near my work after my usual dentist had to…read morereschedule my regular checkup due to a staffing shortage. I am pleased to have found Polished Dental Group. I actually really liked my other dentist so was apprehensive about going somewhere else, but I didn't want to wait because I thought I had a cavity. Well, unfortunately I was correct about the cavity. But fortunately I was really happy with the service I received. I'm a nervous dental patient with a small mouth. I'm sure I'm not a joy to work on. But both the hygienist and the dentist were patient and pleasant with me. When we first started the hygienist said I had to have full X-rays done but insurance only covers every three years. Immediately I figured I was going to have to pay a ton. But she explained if insurance didn't cover, it was only $10. This set me at ease immediately that they wouldn't nickel and dime me. My insurance covered anyway, but still. Additionally, all costs were upfront for everything. I opted for fluoride which my insurance doesn't cover. Was told cost before proceeding. When I checked out, I was also told how much my filling would be at next visit. It was all very reasonable. Like I said I'm a very nervous dental patient. During my cleaning and inspection, both the hygienist and dentist were vocal about what they were doing and that they would be gentle around my sensitive tooth (yes, the cavity!). Usually I feel like I am pulling away and wincing and generally freaking out. But their reassurances relaxed me, and I could calm down. And they were very gentle around the area so as not to cause me pain. I am so glad I found this office and so grateful for their excellent chair side manner. I can't say I'm looking forward to coming back (did I mention the cavity?), but at least I can be much less nervous about the upcoming filling.
