I found this office just by looking for a location near my work after my usual dentist had to reschedule my regular checkup due to a staffing shortage. I am pleased to have found Polished Dental Group. I actually really liked my other dentist so was apprehensive about going somewhere else, but I didn't want to wait because I thought I had a cavity. Well, unfortunately I was correct about the cavity. But fortunately I was really happy with the service I received. I'm a nervous dental patient with a small mouth. I'm sure I'm not a joy to work on. But both the hygienist and the dentist were patient and pleasant with me. When we first started the hygienist said I had to have full X-rays done but insurance only covers every three years. Immediately I figured I was going to have to pay a ton. But she explained if insurance didn't cover, it was only $10. This set me at ease immediately that they wouldn't nickel and dime me. My insurance covered anyway, but still. Additionally, all costs were upfront for everything. I opted for fluoride which my insurance doesn't cover. Was told cost before proceeding. When I checked out, I was also told how much my filling would be at next visit. It was all very reasonable. Like I said I'm a very nervous dental patient. During my cleaning and inspection, both the hygienist and dentist were vocal about what they were doing and that they would be gentle around my sensitive tooth (yes, the cavity!). Usually I feel like I am pulling away and wincing and generally freaking out. But their reassurances relaxed me, and I could calm down. And they were very gentle around the area so as not to cause me pain. I am so glad I found this office and so grateful for their excellent chair side manner. I can't say I'm looking forward to coming back (did I mention the cavity?), but at least I can be much less nervous about the upcoming filling. read more

After today, almost certain I'll never return. 1. Previous appointments were great! Everyone was friendly, professional and gentle. 2. Receptionist today had me cracking up. Love her. She's dope. 3. Dentist assistant and dentist were not it. I already have moderate anxiety re: dental work. But who cares! So it was weird to me when no words were spoken, I just saw tools in my face. So, I guess I should open my mouth now? I was tempted to just sit there until she said open wide. Whatever. She did good cleaning my teeth. She was quick and gentle enough. But the dentist was... idk. Mediocre "bedside manner". Also didn't verbally say "open wide" just put tools in front of my face and told me my tooth was cracked without showing me the evidence/photos. Then she stuck her finger down my throat. Like... huhn?! Never happened before so this was weird. My close friend from college went to dental school and he was also perplexed. If you have any fear of dental work, I would strongly encourage you to see Dr. Rigatti and his staff. They are extremely gentle but also extremely thorough. I travel often and have a super busy work schedule and I wanted a lot of dental work; extractions, gum surgery, ceramic crown, revisiting braces, frequent cleanings and whitening and every visit has been a slam dunk. Micheala went above and beyond to work around my unusual work schedule to fit me in for all the appointments and Dr. R even coordinated with my orthodontist and gum surgeon for a comprehensive plan to address all of my issues. Michaela often had to change my appointments for me but did so with professionalism and kindness consistently. And I really appreciate the texts they send as reminders as they are so helpful to keep me on schedule! I feel very fortunate to have found polished dental. I loved my former dental team equally as much and I thought I would never find a dental practice as impressive, kind, knowledgeable, flexible, clean and patient care oriented but I have been with PD for approximately 2.5 years and they have exceeded my expectation. They were heavily booked, but set up an appointment for me a few months in advance, I believe accepting my insurance info at that time. Months later, I get a cell message threatening to cancel my appointment if I don't call them back. I do, they ask for my insurance info again but are unsure whether they will accept it. I have to wait for another phone call, with them saying it's no longer accepted. So, several months wasted when I could have gone elsewhere for a needed cleaning. Not professional in any way - make sure they tell you upfront if they'll accept your particular plan. Or better, yet avoid them. read more

I always have a great experience here. I switch to Polished Dental on a referral from a friend, and I am so happy with the service I've experienced over the last year! Dr Joey Troupe has a wonderful bedside manner and explains what he is doing thoroughly. It's a great experience for someone who had a fear of the dentist from previous dental trauma. We set up a dental plan that fits my aesthetic and hygiene priorities. I was able to get in to see him two days after my first consultation to fix my root canal and two subpar fillings done at another dentist. Ashley, his dental hygienist is so friendly and calming. They are a great duo! I'm actually excited to have them both complete my work. He's available to talk to you after hours in emergencies and will check on you there next day. If you want a dentist who makes your health their *top* priority, rather than making it at best second in line after their staff's right to not get vaccinated against COVID, you may want to avoid Polished Dental. I was a patient there for years before the pandemic. Great care every time--no complaints about their dental skills. For my first post-pandemic appointment, which was for a minor dental emergency, I called to ask if the whole staff was vaccinated. One receptionist gave me a long, convoluted non-answer, but one in another office reassured me all staff was vaxxed, so I made the appointment. When I got there, I asked again and explained that even though I'm vaxxed, I'm immunocompromised, so I really need to know I won't be exposed. The hygienist who was about to treat me would not even tell me if SHE was vaxxed, and she told me HIPAA prevents the practice from letting patients know if staff are vaxxed. I am a lawyer and know that is not true (HIPAA protects patient info, not staff info, and voluntary self-disclosure is always allowed). Then she brought the office manager over, who confirmed that the practice won't disclose that info, and said that they "believe in science, encourage vaccination, and we were all offered it, and **the majority of us** took that opportunity." So in other words, SOME STAFF ARE NOT VACCINATED... but she won't tell me whether THE PEOPLE TREATING ME, an immune-compromised patient, were. And even the hygienist and dentist themselves won't tell me their own status, apparently. If that's Polished Dental's policy, why not just say so when a patient calls and asks? They could just say, "No, not all staff are vaccinated." Or "Most are, but not all." Or whatever answer is truthful. (Some other practices do this, by the way--including Pitt Dental School, which requires all staff to be vaxxed.) Then let patients choose based on facts. Anyway, I left without getting treated--someone who won't tell you their own vax status probably is unvaccinated, so I wasn't about to take off my mask and let this hygienist peer into my mouth. Then, when I got home, I GOT A CALL FROM THE DENTIST ASKING ME NOT TO LEAVE "REVIEWS OR COMMENTS" ONLINE ABOUT THE FACT THEY ALLOW STAFF TO BE UNVACCINATED and the fact that they won't even ensure that staff members treating immune-compromised patients are vaccinated! It's a little outrageous to ask me to not tell the simple truth online. I told him I think people looking for a dentist deserve to know up front if all staff are vaccinated. He, apparently, doesn't agree. read more

Since my permanent teeth grew in, I've marveled at what I didn't have: uniformly white teeth. My two front teeth were especially objects of my insecurity. They were speckled with bright white spots, which were extremely noticeable when I smiled. Being involved in the advertising and entertainment industry, my agent urged me to get rid of the spots. Upon consulting my family dentist, I was told that my only option was to maintain veneers, which was completely unappealing to me. Fortunately, I was referred to Polished Dental, where they perform a procedure called "Resin Infiltration". Unlike many other Dental practices I've been to, Polished Dental was the least intimidating experience I've had. They play hip music, the lobby is clean and warm, and the staff the friendliest I've experienced. Dr. Joey thoroughly explains everything before proceeding and is never pushy. I had a really bad time with my previous dentist, and I am so happy to be with Polished Dental. I saw Dr. Mackenzie Kelley and my hygienist was Amber. Kelly at the front desk checked me in and completed my insurance information. She was so sweet and helpful, so refreshing! Amber was nice, funny, and very thorough. She told me what I was doing right, wrong, and areas that might be of concern down the road. Then, she took a picture of the concerning area to show me what she saw. Dr. Kelley came in to look around and give me her feedback as well. She recommended a mouth guard because I grind my teeth, and mentioned they do a special later in the year. AMAZING. I was super terrified about going to the dentist because the last time I'd gone was when I was 17 getting my wisdom teeth out (I'm 21.) But it was so awesome, everyone was so nice and accomodating for me. I'm on a budget and they worked with my insurance company to get me covered and everything. The patient care is incredible I couldn't have asked for better. All of the ladies are so nice and experienced and you can tell Dr. Troupe and everyone really care about all of their patients and do regular follow ups after every visit and check in to make sure everything is OK. All of my visits have been fun, quick, thorough and painless and Dr. Troupe and the staff really do an amazing job. I completely trust them with my teeth and will never step foot in another dentist office besides Polished again. It was just so great, overall fantastic experience and patient care you won't find anywhere else. The office is really nice and aesthetic too. I used to prefer getting shots over going to the dentist -- after my experience at Polished Dental, I feel in charge of my dental care and cared for. I'm new to the area and needed emergency care -- I was able to see Dr. Troupe that afternoon. The front desk offered me tea / coffee, took care of all my insurance questions, and signed me up quickly/easily for a cleaning appointment the following week. At my cleaning, the hygienist was gentle and thorough and was genuinely interested in getting to know me as a patient. My entire experience was easy and inviting -- it is such a friendly environment. Finally, Dr. Troupe is extremely bright, thoughtful, diligent, and, like the rest of the team, warm. After my emergency care and my cleaning, he patiently explained to me in detail what was happening with each one of my teeth and outlined for me a new regimen for my dental care. Dr. Joey Troupe and Polished took over the practice I had been going to practically all my life this past year, and at first I was hesitant to allow someone else to work on my teeth but, unsuspected circumstances put Dr. Joey in the situation to remove my wisdom teeth in December and I was so happy with the work her performed. Extracting wisdom teeth can be frightening, let alone while being awake. The staff at Polished Dental provided me with a calm, easy going morning where I had nothing to worry about. They promised to be in touch with my brother who was picking me up and took great care of me. The procedure itself was flawless. Finding a good dentist is not easy. Most people do a ton of research, ask their friends for recommendations as trial and error in this endeavor is not an option. Often we stumble upon conflicting reviews, which can add to the confusion and increase what are already high levels of anxiety. At least, that was my experience, which is why i decided to write this review. My hope is to help someone somewhere reduce the anxiety by simply stating: you cannot go wrong by choosing Polished Dental. I cannot express strongly enough how awesome the entire staff is. The customer experience is in its own league. Dr. Troupe is not only incredibly good at what he does, but he is always in a great mood, and he takes his time to explain every aspect of whatever the procedure is. He gives you the sense that he genuinely cares about your health and wants what's best for you. But more importantly, he demonstrates that through his work, which you will not feel one bit. I had my wisdom teeth out 2 days ago and to be honest, was terrified when I was told that I would be awake the whole time. However, Dr. Troupe explained everything to me very clearly and checked up on me throughout the entire procedure. I didn't feel a thing and all 4 of my teeth were out in under an hour. Once the numbness wore off that night, I had some pain (which was to be expected); however, I woke up basically pain-free and with minimal swelling. I was able to workout that morning and continue my day as I normally would. I am now two days out and just have the littlest bit of swelling left. I can't forget about the team up front as well. They always greet you by your first name and are a pleasure to work with. They offer you water and/or coffee and really make you feel as comfortable as possible. Was (Am) terrified of the dentist: I don't like the smells, the sounds of the instruments on my teeth...pretty much none of it. After a 'vacation' from the dentist's office and switching cities, I searched online and read reviews of this practice. I'm happy I chose here as my reintroduction to the dentist. I've had great experience at Polished Dental. The staff is very friendly and empathetic to timid patients. Dr. Troupe is very professional. Not only does he take standard x-rays, but actual photographs of your teeth so you can see exactly what the issues are. He talks you through everything and communicates regularly through email. The office has a very nice atmosphere. They play good music (no GOP talk radio ramblings like my last place) and they have a Keurig in the waiting area (perfect for early morning appointments). I have terrible anxiety about going to the dentist; I really dread the dentist. However, that changed by switching to Polished Dental. I made a few visits to Dr. Troupe to address a complicated tooth issue. Dr. Troupe gave me all possible options and outcomes in an honest way. After an extraction and bone graft the site healed beautifully. The hygienists are just as nice and welcoming. I received emails to confirm my appointments and am always greeted with a smile. A place like this makes it 100 times better for a person with dentist anxiety to feel comfortable. The music played is a nice touch as with the selection of magazines and beverages. I've had my teeth cleaned and gotten a filling from Polished Dental. On both occasions they were fantastic to deal with. In particular, the filling was as great an experience as it could have been. It was completely (I mean completely) painless and I was in and out of there in less than an hour. It's now been 5 hours since the filling: the numbness has worn off, I'm still pain-free, and the filling already feels like it's been part of my mouth forever. We have also been most appreciative of Ashley who assists Dr. Troupe. On several occasions when getting caps, she had to build temporaries that are as good as the permanent ones. She is exceptional! I think outstanding dentists are hard to find, but this group meets the criteria.
