Water and snacks are offered and available. Here a little longer than anticipated for your morning appointment? Lunch will be brought to you in a little tote: a sandwich, a piece of fruit and a drink. How nice. Nurses were capable and attentive. During the time we were there, I felt as if we were well taken care of and the visit went smoothly.

Communication is excellent -- in-person, by telephone, and through the myScripps portal. Located across Torrey Pines Road from the Scripps Torrey Pines campus, the Center itself is state-of-the-art in a smart looking building. The entry and main seating area are sunlit, bright and airy. Receptionists are welcoming and clearly patient-focused. There's no charge for parking. What more can I say? I highly recommend everything about the Scripps Cancer Center.

I chose to pay out of pocket and get second opinions at Scripps because I had such a horrific experience with Kaiser Urology and do not trust them. Second opinion at Scripps was worth every penny. Going from Kaiser to Scripps was like going from a ghetto bodega / store to Neiman-Marcus. I was even told on the 4th occasion, that my name was now at the top of the "list". Today was the 7th occasion I called. I was told that someone spoke with me last week, WHICH IS WHOLLY UNTRUE. I was also told that "the doctor would contact when he finishes looking at my case". So which is it? Did someone speak to me or does the doctor still have to review my case? Obviously, no one knows what is happening. By this point, I could be dead of cancer before he even sees me. Regardless if HE is a good doctor or not, his OFFICE is absolutely horrible and I no longer have trust in the facility.

She reached out within days, knew my history, was kind, compassionate, and willing to help. She is such a pleasure to meet with and always thorough in explaining what is happening; providing detail in terms we can understand. She responds to my emails the same day! She doesn't have her support staff reach out unless it's a basic question, like med refill. A cancer journey is horrid, and it takes an amazing doctor to make it a pleasant in knowing that your doctor is doing all she can to help and at the same time allowing you to have a voice in the decision process. My wife came here with stage 4 cancer, we did a lot of reviewing and saw this doctor office as a…read moregood option. However we unfortunately got Dr Tracey as our doctor. Dr Tracey experience has only be in the military and her experience was terrible. Although my wife's chemo has been going well we've had insane issues with Dr Tracey. She's miss prescribed multi medications ( one time the pharmacy called us and even refused to fill it because she prescribed an inhaler for a runny nose). She also has very limited knowledge in opioid & benzos, she will over prescribe and then under prescribe. She almost made my wife go through opioid withdrawal until I had to explain to her how opioids work. She's had my wife come into chemo and forgot to order her chemo drugs and we had to go home for 3 days. She's doesn't know any side effects and in facts we've had to explain to her what medications do what. It's pretty crazy that our chemo doctor doesn't know the chemo side effects. My wife and I both work in healthcare and were amazed how much education we had to give her as a chemo doctor. Upon asking for a new doctor to see because Dr Tracey at this point was messing with my wife physically, and mentally. Everytime she would call because she was out of meds she would have to argue with Dr Tracey who would always claim "I just prescribed your medication" and then would get into an actual argument with my wife for her then to realize she was wrong and then would order her meds. This happened 3 documented times. Today we asked to see a new doctor because of dr Tracey. She has made this entire experience 10x worse. It's very apparent she's not ready for this. After we requested to see another doctors office this office is telling us we're not able to see another doctor (even though there are plenty others). I've never been more disappointed with a facility and we are grateful we documented all the mistakes and malpractice Dr Tracey was apart of. We have requested to speak to another doctor but as of now nothing is happening. IF YOU GO HERE AVOID "DR TRACEY" SHES BRAND NEW AND TERRIBLE. Cancer is a serious thing and no one should be treated the way Dr Tracey treats her patients

Dr. Saleh is very nice, but get copies of ALL your labs and test results, and do your own homework…read morebefore trusting his diagnosis, and be prepared to advocate for yourself! I was referred to Dr. Saleh due to lab tests that suggested that I either had an infection or a rare form of cancer. (With my labs, the odds are +/- 85% in favor of an infection, but no one ever bothered to check further - the nurse practitioner at the PCP's office just shuffled me off to oncology/hematology, and once you're in that system, it's almost impossible to get out.) We spent almost a year and tens of thousands of dollars undergoing bone marrow biopsies, xrays and genetic testing, but the results just didn't match the diagnostic criteria for the rare cancer they apparently hoped I had. Since ruling out infection is one of the required criteria for diagnosing this cancer, I finally argued Dr. Saleh into running a few inexpensive tests for antibodies to several common bacterial and viral infections, and I had antibodies to more than a couple of them, which warranted further investigation. Dr. Saleh was amazed, and referred me to an infectious disease specialist - an obnoxious, obese man who refused to even examine me, because he said that based on his experience with previous patients, I was probably just a malingerer who was seeking a disability retirement! Ignoring the fact that my lab tests were off the charts, the infectious disease quack then called Dr. Saleh and suggested that I be referred to a psychiatrist, 'cause my problems must all be in my head! Dr. Saleh then said there was nothing more that he could do, except to diagnose me with cancer and put me on chemo. Thank goodness I refused the chemo!. A few months later, I began seeing a private doctor, and he put me on a low dose of a mild antibiotic for another issue. Magically, my labs improved significantly (although not entirely normal,) and stayed improved. This suggested that I probably had one or more infections - not a rare cancer. Fast forward another 3 years: In late 2016, I got pneumonia, and was given a really strong antibiotic, and suddenly, for the first time in almost 20 years, my labs were almost normal. In the year since then, my labs have repeatedly been almost normal. My response to antibiotics strongly suggests that I had an infection all along - an infection for which Dr. Saleh and his pals refused to treat me, and left me suffering for YEARS.
