Rumm put out a call for hair models specifying them to be a size 0-8. For hair. Like it wasn't going to fit if they were a size 10. I would not get my hair done here out of principle that they are only looking for petite models, and are not interested in representing women of all sizes with their work. I went in for my 2 and visit with a specific request of root touch up so the root of my hair does not look totally different from the rest of the hair. The colorisist didn't do just a root touch up but did color my whole hair which I paid for but the roots didn't change color. What a waste of time and money. This inspite of repeatedly telling her she has to strip the color of the root for it to take the red color but she didn't listen. Never going back here. read more

I've only been to Rumm a few times for haircuts & hair color because it's a bit of a drive for me, and I'm not very good at planning my appointments ahead of time. However, every visit was pleasant and I absolutely loved the results. I never could get my hair to take or hold curls; but the last time I left Rumm, my hair stayed wavy & pretty for the whole day... thanks, Songee! I believe that the artists at Rumm go through training sessions frequently to make sure they have the best skills to offer. A couple of colorists at Rumm are also Board Certified. The products they use & sell at Rumm are great as well so make sure to ask to your stylist/colorist about them. Appointments are recommended. Awesome find!! I'm in Atlanta for a wedding, and decided I needed cut and color done TODAY...you know that feeling! Found RuMM on Yelp! And it's right across the street from our hotel...sounded good, though a little scary and went with it. It's a Friday early afternoon and they got me in within 30 minutes...Khadijah did a "partial weave" which seemed more like a full weave. She spent so much time, doing an awesome job...I'm a trained hairdresser, so I know great skill and care when I experience it! Then she cut it, "just cleaning it up a bit with some added layers"...I feel like a new woman! So very happy I listened to my gut and did it. Tried this salon twice and never went back. Prices are outrageous (and yes, I know quality hair care is not cheap but there's a line). The straw that broke the camels back was that the second time I was there I walked out with wet hair. Walked to my car and drove home with sopping wet hair. I was so embarrassed. My stylist colored my hair and sent me to be washed by another girl. That other girl brought me back after washing to a totally different chair, towel dried it, and asked if I'd like a blow dry added to my bill. I was floored. Here's the funny thing...IF my stylist had ever even returned to check that the color had turned out right (she didn't) how would she be able to tell with wet hair?! Awful. read more

Rumm could be a top-notch salon if they get a few minor details figured out. The lobby area is perfect: sodas, coffee, water, wine and candies are complimentary. Tons of great magazines, a movie playing on the flat screen, and good selection of Kerastase and other quality products. Inside the salon, however, the chairs are too close together--so much so that when I turned my chair at the same time another client turned hers, our feet touched. It's kind of claustrophobic and tight in the general salon area and the vibe isn't relaxing. My color was great--I can't remember who colored my hair because I was visiting the area, but she did a terrific job. However, the girl who shampooed my hair was careless. She got water down my back and left color on my face. And, the sinks smelled of mildew. They really needed a good cleaning. The folks @Rumm are very nice--no snobbery or pretentiousness here--and offer good quality products for a reasonable price. If they can work on some of these minor details, the salon can offer a much better experience. read more

My first experience with Rumm Studio was average. The staff were very friendly, and the salon was well kept. I wasn't pleased with my highlight outcome, but Millie and her husband tried their best to fix the mishap which was very professional of them to do so. It's been only a week, and color has faded. This is a great, high quality salon without that "we're too good for you vibe." You can't help but like a place that offers you a drink while you get styled, has such comfy furniture and has a movie playing so you'll have another option other than hair and gossip magazines. Combine that environment with some of the most talented and friendly stylists and you will become a regular. Yes, it is a little pricey but the cuts and colors look so natural and last for a long, long time. I was really excited when I found this place, they are in a very conveniently location for me and they use great quality products. Russell did a good job on my hair color (I was getting roots touch up and a few highlights). I came back next time for touch up and a cut, was fine. When I came back a third time for my root touch up I was told that I didn't book a blow dry and therefore I can dry them myself?! (What?!!). Number or rule in a salon industry should be- make sure your customer leaves your salon looking beautiful!! And I was feeling like a humiliated wet chicken to say the least... If 5 minutes of your staffs time is too much to dry your customers hair (after I paid $80+tip for color touch up) I cannot come back there. It's like going to a restaurant, ordering a desert and chef tells you that you need to go in to the kitchen and put icing on it yourself..or if you wanted a chef to do it it's fine but will be $20 more... Perhaps you can get that kind of 'self service' in buffet but certainly not in a restaurant. So if you are looking for a 'buffet' kind of service - rumm salon is for you. read more

I have curly hair and they know how to cut it and not many people do + they carry my favorite product, kerastase I love the atmosphere, a glass of wine and movies while I get my hair done. I give out loads of referral cards, but I think that some are just not able to fit it into their budget. Hair just happens to be one of the things I splurge on. I recommend this studio without reservation, it is worth every penny. They have probably have the highest number of Master Colorists in one studio, for the Atlanta area. I recently got my hair cut here and it was a disaster. I went home to realize the back was uneven, choppy, and an embarrassment. I don't understand how a place that has designer levels fails so miserably at a simple cut and style. Not to mention, front desk staff was quite snooty.
