Every time I leave Landis chair, I feel beautiful, confident and excited to show off my hair. She is a master with hair color and cuts and will help you achieve any goal! I love bringing inspo pics and then getting her fun twist on how to make it perfect for my skin tone and complexion. EDIT TO REPLY TO OWNER: I think the point of my review is getting lost in the shuffle, I acknowledge I was late to the appointment, and that is my fault. But what i cannot accept is how rude I was treated because I was late. Your receptionist did not politely explain anything to me. She was short with me and rude. You can treat customers correctly and be lenient with them, while also protecting your stylists. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. Plenty of salons do it, yet your establishment hasn't been able to strike that balance. I stand by my earlier statements that there are a LOT of places to get your haircut, you might as well pick one that is a bit more human and understanding than this place. ORIGINAL REVIEW: While the haircut I received was fine (nothing to rave about for the price), the real reason you should avoid this salon is because the owner has no regard for actual customer service. She has a strict policy on appointments and if you don't follow their rules, they have no grace. I've spent hundreds of dollars at this salon, and the one instance where I had an issue with my appointment last minute, they charged me $65 and told me I was a no show when I was on the phone actively speaking with the rude receptionist, TRYING to show up. I offered as much flexibility as I could, and they just kept telling me I owed them money. I understand salons have policies to ensure the stylists get paid and a 15 minute grace period to showing up to an appointment, but sometimes life happens. People can get covid, be in traffic, get rear-ended, etc, and the last thing you want when you are in those situations is your literal hair salon nickle and diming you. This salon cares about money, not their customers. There's plenty of other places in the area that wont treat you like they treated me - save yourself the trouble. If you read other reviews my experience is not unique. My advice to management: be more human, be more flexible. read more

Very disappointing service, and it wasn't cheap. I asked for ash blonde highlights with no warmth or gold tones, and I left with parts of my hair that hadn't lifted and were legitimately brassy yellow/orange. They agreed to redo it, but then turned my hair purple in places due to over-saturating it with toner. When I came back, the colorist mentioned that it had been difficult due to the fact that I had 4-5 months of roots; however, my natural color is like a level 7 (light brown/dark blonde) and I have had plenty of other colorists over the course of time who have been able to lift and blend much better with more root. It just wasn't a sophisticated use of color or technique. I paid $275 too, which is outrageous. I have paid less in places like Chicago and NYC, and they didn't mess up my hair. I ended up flying to my old colorist out of state to get it fixed. Would not recommend at all. read more

The worst run salon and the rudest owner and receptionist I've ever encountered. While I understand cancellation policies and have no issue paying that, it was the attitude of the receptionist Cami that was shocking. Because of this, I also canceled an appointment schedule for weeks out and was told the 150 deposit would not be refunded. When the owner, Lauren, called she initially said she had a wait list, but then said she wouldn't refund the deposit because she couldn't fill the time ?? I rarely leave reviews on any business, but feel the need to warn folks about this place. Very bad business and horrible customer service. TLDR version - Lauren Blauser is an incredible stylist and a kind, genuine person. Book your appointment. Due to experiences in my past, I'll admit that I may have a bit of "bad haircut PTSD". ;) I have had 2 stylists move out of state within the past 5 years, and it took a full year without even a trim before I committed to an appointment at Ritual. I asked for recommendations from friends, searched Yelp reviews, and finally entered a hashtag on Instagram where I found Lauren's work. I called and booked an appointment for the following week with her. There was a bit of a scheduling snafu, and I actually didn't get my hair cut until 6 weeks later, but I don't even feel the need to go into detail, because Lauren more than made up for the inconvenience. I walked into the salon which is decorated in a simple modern style, and very clean. Lauren greeted me right on time and listened to my concerns during the consult. I wanted a pretty simple cut, with long layers, but minimal face framing. Any other time I have asked stylists to please avoid the "Jennifer Aniston" cut, because somehow I've walked out of salons so many times with that cut. I didn't even have to say it to her -- she said "I promise I won't cut your hair like Jennifer Aniston's" before I could even bring it up lol. She gave excellent suggestions on how she could cut and style my hair to give it more volume. I have parted my hair to the side for probably 5 years, and she showed me how much fuller my hair would look with a middle part, so we went with that. I gave her a heads up about my scalp psoriasis, and she used a shampoo and conditioner for scalp issues. Bonus -- they use Oribe products, which are in the mid to high range in cost, but worth it --life changing! The products she used smelled lovely -- nothing like the horrid T-Gel that I typically use every other wash. She also applied a scalp treatment, and was very knowledgeable about the ingredients. I can tell that she pays attention to her reps when they bring in new products. I felt that she used styling products specifically for my hair and scalp, and not just her own personal favorites. Another thing that I typically dread about getting my hair cut is the usual small talk. I am horrible at small talk, and prefer meaningful conversation. No small talk with Lauren-- we had a very enjoyable conversation about shared experiences, and she offered lots of food for thought on topics unrelated to hair. I felt like I was talking to a friend. It is apparent that not only is Lauren a pro stylist, but also a compassionate person who truly cares about others. I am very happy with my cut, and I will continue to go to Ritual in the future. Modern, clean, and conveniently located on Windward Parkway right by the drive-thru Starbucks (bonus for early morning appointments!) I was a new client when this location opened and owner Lauren has made me feel like I have been a part of the Ritual Salon family for years. She takes the time to ask if I have had any issues with styling or products from the last visit, and suggests techniques to combat my nemesis, the front bangs cowlick. Her color is always spot-on, and I LOVE that once I sat down in her chair and she said "your color looks great let's just tone it this time" without feeling the need to charge me for a full head of highlights when she knew I didn't need it.
