Being a weekday, there weren't a lot of other passengers either waiting at the station or riding in our car. This was our first journey on the rail A Line that now runs from Pomona to Long Beach. The Glendora station area is neat and, being only a few months old, all the ticket machines are working and in good order. I mention this as I've read reviews where other Metro riders have had issues with buying or reloading fare (TAP) cards at other stations. The passengers at this station enter and debark just south of the Glendora post office. From there, it's only a short walk east to Glendora Avenue and then north (two blocks?) to city hall and the downtown area full of shops and eating/drinking establishments. Feeling mildly apprehensive after having heard some of the horror stories about public rail systems, I'm happy to report that my wife and I rode comfortably in a clean car and were not disturbed by the few other people (three?) on the train. I've had others observe that sitting in the front car (nearest the driver) is preferable for those wishing to avoid some of the more "colorful" characters that sometimes frequent the rail systems. We took this advice as a preventative measure with positive results. We did have an exceptionally long wait for our return train with three trains pulling into Glendora heading toward Downtown L.A. by the time we boarded the next train back to San Dimas. Usually there are trains pulling into Glendora about every eight minutes or so, but there were some announcements about an elevator issue at Union Station (automated information boards were fairly accurate in keeping us updated on the delayed arrival time). Our wait was a little over 15-minutes. We enjoyed our inaugural journey and are considering other excursions to neighboring cities along the line. It's inexpensive enough to ride (regular fares $1.75 one way/seniors .75) and a great option if your destination is nearby the station and you don't mind a little additional walking.

Getting anything free from Disney is an appreciated rarity. There's a lot of cool neat trivia about how sour dough is made, the yeast cultures that go into it, historical facts about Boudin, and you can watch them make and bake the bread right there behind a glass window. From start to finish, it's a nice activity that's not super busy and not cortisol spiking at Disney. Honestly, each time I've gone here, all the tables are full, but I don't blame them. It's indoors covered seating and a place you can enjoy your bread bowl and enjoy the scenes of making (and I guess breaking) bread. There's a small cart outside selling the sourdough (regular loaf and cool seasonal/Disney shapes) and it's right next to Aunt Cass's cafe if you would like a bread bowl and some chowder! Love it!

You can learn how to fly here, too. Cool! They have a small area with limited parking and limited seating and no cover on Benson Ave where you may sit and watch the planes fly by. I have yet to attend one of its air shows and/or celebration events. Maybe one day I will. Btw, this cable airport is the World's Largest Family Owned Public Use Airport. They are celebrating 80 years of aviation service to the local community on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (per flyer, subject to change). It's free admission for all. Sounds interesting and fun. Once in a lifetime visit! Come on out to support them and have some fun in the sun!!

There are a lot of vendors with handmade wares, but if you prefer commercial type of merchandise, they have it too. They have seating and grass everywhere, huge trees for shade and cooling the eating areas, there are so many places to people watch and relax. If you want rides they have so many you could be there all day just going on them. Thrill seekers and kids alike. I love the animals in the barns and all of the demonstrations they offer, milking, glass blowing, sewing and more. There is always something going on all day long. I will be back next year and recommend to anyone.

Located only 30 or so minutes north of the 60 Fwy and the 605, this urban adjacent off road park…read morefits the bill whenever you get a hankering for mud and river crossings but don't want to drive the hours and miles for legitimate off road trails. My boys, aged 6,4 and 1, and I wanted some good ol' mudding fun to get the Jeep and their toy monster trucks dirty. It's about 6 or so miles north on Hwy 39 after you pass the Costco and it's $8.00 to get in: so it's close and cheap. The entry fee goes to maintaining the land, so it's all good... The first obstacle after the staging area is a 2.5'-3' water crossing. It's not overly technical, but don't be a bone head and speed through and create a bow wake. You'll just get water in your air intake. After that crossing, it's really up to you on how you want to get your off road on: there's mud bogs, off camber hills, and plenty of rocks and stones to crawl over. Drive past the second water crossing and you get to the good stuff, past the bridge undercrossing. There's more mud on this side and more exciting hills, so while it's not a hardcore off road park, it'll keep you entertained. There's YouTube vids on different events happening here, but on this lazy Saturday in January, it wasn't crowded. Everyone we met was really chill and my boys made friends with other kids who brought their own monster trucks. There's no camping and no open fires, so keep that in mind. You can get a permit, though, for a propane camp stove or grill, so it's not all cold sandwiches. Oh, and no booze, too. There were all sorts of off road trucks, dirt bikes, side by sides and ATV's. But given all the different types of vehicles, everyone got along just fine. I kinda chuckled at the Jeeps that were brand spanking new and clean with paper license plates getting dirty for the first time. I remember those days! The park opens at 0800 and closes at 1600, with all vehicles exiting by 1630 so there's more than enough time to get dirty and still have a nice dinner down the hill. It was a great time with my boys and my 6 year old said, "I had fun dada." And I told him this is what dad's and sons do and that I loved all of them. He said, "I love you, dada.." and my 4 year old said, "I had fun...I love Mama..." Sigh!

It…read morestarts from the peaceful campground and continues onto Baden-Powell peak, the 4th highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains. Along the way, there are opportunities to stop at several other peaks, such as Dawson, Hawkins, Throop, and Burnham. This would add several more miles to the total hike. The trail is single file with varying sizes of loose rock under foot. Most of the trail is a fairly tame ascension, but there are also multiple areas of decline, which of course means climbing up on the way back. You will follow signs to Windy Gap, Pacific Crest Trail, then Baden-Powell. At the summit, there are nice 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and cities far below. A dedicated monument and plaque stands, honoring and named after the founder of the Boy Scouts. parking - adventure pass required for the parking lot tip - this hike starts at about 5,000 feet, so it may be cooler than expected, depending on the season. In the summer heat, though, it's still quite warm.

The restaurant offers seating outside or inside ( prefer outdoor) to watch the flights and outdoors. I had there (2) eggs with bacon and hash browns with white toast.
