I signed up for the cocktail making class at the Jameson Distillery. As I have no skill in making cocktails I thought I would give it a try. It's a one hour course where you learn a little history and get to make 2 drinks in a relaxed environment. The instructor makes a third drink which is a punch where you will have it after the course. Overall it was a fun experience and I wish I remembered the instructor's name because he was informative and had a great sense of humor. You will also receive a recipe book to take home with you so that way you can continue your craft. Whether you're skilled in making cocktails or want to give it a go, this will be worth your time.
great experience and great whisky. Neill was our tour guide and he was very interactive and entertainin. I would suggest doing it at least once to learn the history and see how Jameson became. They have great service and team members ready to help we didn't eat there yet I noticed a number of folks staying for additional beverages.
What a great tour! Very well done. Our guide gave us a very informative and entertaining presentation. The tour itself is very modern and uses tech nicely. It's a tasting so you get to tray a few whiskeys. Very impressed with the overall tour. Ended up buying a couple of bottles of the limited Distillery Edition - can only get at this location. Building also had a bar if you want more drinks/cocktails. Outside is also a restaurant and a nice general Ireland gift shop. Highly recommend doing this tour if you're in the town of Dublin.
So much fun! We did an evening tour and it was the best way to end our day! The vibes here are soooo cool, right away when you walk in everything is so modern and nice. We got our welcome drinks and then proceeded to do the tastings which were delicious! It was so fun to learn so much about the distillery process, and the staff that gave our tour was the best! He was so knowledgeable and answered all of my questions
This is a "must go" place especially if you're visiting Dublin the first time. Typical distillery tour, but they do a pretty great job with the visual displays and audience participation.
Whilst on a trip in Ireland, my friend and I stopped at the Jameson distillery. Truth be told we hadn't initially planned on it but our hotel gave a slight discount for the tours so we figured we'd go for it. It was really easy to find the entrance and where to start the tour. The staff was super welcoming and the tour was very informative! I went on another whiskey tour the day after Jameson and honestly the knowledge provided during the Jameson tour was helpful. At the end, my friend and I stopped by the bar for a drink (or two). I ended up trying Red Breast 10 yrs on the rocks and a whiskey sour! Both drinks were lovely. I was already a whiskey sour fan and the one here was sooooo good. I had a pretty sad whiskey sour the day before so it was like night and day. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Jameson! I can't believe I almost didn't go considering how great of a time my friend and I had. Check it out!
Excellent tour! The presentation is very well done, blending both modern tech with a live person giving interesting information about the history and the science of Jameson. The quality of the visuals/video used was great - down to the details. The science part was sensory interactive - you watched some parts and listened, smelled some things, and ended with a tasting of three different whiskeys. It also included a choice of cocktail or neat at the Grog Bar. The people were very friendly and Antonia, the young woman who gave the presentation, was engaging and professional. I was impressed. If you're interested in Jameson and want to sample as well as learn a little bit of the history of Irish whiskey, this is definitely a worthy tour.
This was my favorite activity while in Dublin. We paid for a whisky tasting and were guided to a small room in which we learned the way the whiskey is made and the history of the distillery. Tried 4 whiskeys made by Jameson. The bar outside has the most delicious menu for cocktails. Be careful in the gift shop because you'll want to buy everything. We walked away with 3 bottles of Red Breast whiskey that cannot be bought in the US. Also purchased a beautiful warm jacket.
Land in Dublin after twenty-four hours of flying across both the pacific and Atlantic Ocean's, and the first place we visited - Jameson! Those massive green Jamison bottle chandeliers really welcome you through the door. Right call. The space hits different--bar anchoring the room, old distillery bones visible, the kind of atmosphere that makes you understand why you came. The standard tour delivers. Outstanding tastings that actually matter. The Black Barrel is the real deal--rich, approachable, worth bringing home. My wife found the Select, which you can only get here, and that matters. Our guide was sharp and funny, moved us through with purpose and personality. We added the special cask tasting. The barrel room is worth seeing, but the experience felt rushed. Different guide, less energy, in and out in ten minutes. Didn't justify the price. That's worth noting. We stayed at the bar anyway. Shared a charcuterie board that was genuinely well done. Picked up a few bottles. Left satisfied. Not flawless, but the core experience lands. The gift shop is stocked if you're looking to bring something back. When planning our Ireland trip, there was a short list of absolute must visits and Jameson Distillery in Dublin was top of that list! As much as Jameson is synonymous with Dublin, you would think they take up several blocks of downtown space...however, this distillery is tucked away on Bow Street in the Smithfield area of the city. It is a little hike on foot from city centre, but on a good day, it is a nice walk that is well worth the reward! The distillery is absolutely gorgeous. The outside if classic Irish infrastructure, then you walk inside and are transported into a modern, rustic, elevated and exciting space dedicated to all things Jameson! We purchased tickets for our guided tour and tasting ahead of time, and I highly recommend you doing the same. Our tour started with a quick introduction to things, then up the stairs we went to the Daily Grog where we got to choose our cocktail, and of course, I went with the Jameson Ginger! From there the tour started where we got to see the inner working of the process, including the ingredients along with a sensory station for tastes, smells, etc...The final tasting allowed us to sample a few different varieties of Jameson, including one that was only available on site. The tour was informative and fun. Our tour guide was fun, engaging, entertaining and an overall joy to wander around and connect with. Clearly a very passionate person about Jameson! After the tour, we wandered directly into the gift shop where we of course picked up a few pieces of swag. Immediately following that, we bellied up to the gorgeous bar downstairs for a final cocktail before heading back out. Overall, Jameson Distillery was one of the most memorable experiences of our time in Dublin, and I highly recommend it!
Absolutely wonderful. If you like Irish Whiskey, this place is a must and recommend the "private tasting." It's four distillery exclusive whiskeys in the back (in what used to be John Jameson's office). I did buy a couple of those tasty whiskeys. I can't remember the name of the guy who led the tour but I think it was Marc, he was wonderful. I would do it again, even with the same whiskeys. You can take tours or have flights, or even a beer. There's different types of tasting experiences (we did one at the Middleton distillery which was more of an introduction to Jameson whiskeys). If you're like me and want to get a bottle or two that you can get in the states and you like the Spots, Red Breast, Method and Madness or regular Jameson, this place is an absolute must visit.
While in Dublin, the Jameson distillery tour is a must. It was exactly what you would expect from great marketing! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, loved learning more about the distilling process, and had a drink. What more could you would ask!?
We did the cocktail experience with Cairon. He was mad entertaining and we made amazing drinks and the company was even better! Don't sleep on this, you will have a blast!
An incredible experience! Far beyond anything I expected. The tour is not too long and our tour guide was so engaged and funny. The presentation was on point and used a lot of very modern displays to tell the history of Jameson Whiskey. There were even multiple hands-on ways to participate, not least of all was an incredible whiskey tasting included in the tour. We also paid extra for a cask draw, and I highly recommend it. They took us to the back where they store these huge Donkey Kong-sized barrels for up to 20 years and they let us taste directly from a 19 year old whiskey. Tasted like pure gasoline but what an experience it was. read more

Such a fun experience!! I definitely recommend the cocktail making class! My sister and I had a blast making three delicious drinks (an apple rhubarb whiskey sour, and old fashioned, and a spiced whiskey punch). Our teacher Paul was awesome and I would recommend this to anyone going to Dublin! The rest of the distillery is really nice too and you can get some great drinks! read more

Very much enjoyed the tour at the Jameson Distillery. When you first arrive, you wait in the bar area, where you can choose to grab your ginger and Jameson and take on the tour (or can wait until after). I am allergic to ginger, so I decided to try one of their beverages from the bar. It was strawberry concoction, that they equated to a strawberry margarita and it was delicious. Once your tour time is called, you are brought into a room with a guide. I liked this more than some of the other tours we did because they walked you through the history, making, and all the fun facts. Sometimes in the other tours we did, it can be overwhelming and I would just skip whole sections because I was lazy and did not want to read..... At Jameson though, they have fantastic guides, that not only want to get to know you but really include you in the tour. My favorite was the room that explained the process of making Jameson. It had this cool animated wall that would go through the process and sensory area where you could feel and smell different things that went into the liquor. Then they take you into a room where you get to try three of the various Jamesons. I am not a huge fan of the alcohol itself, so most of mine went to my husband but I did give it all the good ole college try. Lastly, the gift shop was cool, but the best part was they had two specific types of Jameson that you could only get there, one of which you could literally pour yourself, and they keep a log of each person that poured one. With that being said, you can go back and visit, give them the cask number and they can show you the log for your bottle. Overall a really cool experience. read more

Great experience. Tour with tasting is such a great value deal, and the tour is both interesting and doesn't drag on like crazy. I liked Jameson before but now have a whole different respect for it after learning the history and process of creating it. read more

I've been twice and just love the private tour. 10 or so people go into the old owner's office and receive a lesson on Jameson while tasting several wonderful whiskeys. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in Ireland (but buy tix in advance). read more
I actually found this tour more interesting and fun than the Guinness Storehouse tour - and I'm a beer guy. You stroll in, get your tickets, and then they tell you what time your guided tour will start. If you have enough time, you can step back out to the large bar area and hang out over a couple of drinks. It gets crowded in here though, so you might want to step outside and hang out in the courtyard area out front. It's a fully guided, 40 minute tour that takes you through several different rooms. It starts with the history of the distillery, of course, and then some exhibits about the distilling process and why Jameson whiskey is distilled three times. Followed up with some hands on exhibits where you get to smell the different types of barley, different ages of whiskey, and more informative stuff. The next room you venture into is the tasting room. You get three small samples of whiskey - Scotch whiskey, American whiskey, and Jameson (Irish whiskey). They explain why each one smells different and they teach you to taste the subtle differences in each one. The tour guides are VERY knowledgeable, and VERY entertaining and funny. I really had a good time on this one and if I had to choose between it and the Guinness tour, I would choose this one in a heartbeat. I can't say enough about the tour guides - they really made it entertaining. The entrance fee also includes a voucher for a glass of their daily grogg. Jameson, with ginger ale, and lime. **€22 per adult, or free with the Dublin City Pass AND you get to cut to the front of the line to get your tickets. read more
The Jameson Distillery is magical. Very magical. Until I visited the distillery on my first trip to Ireland, I hadn't given Irish Whiskey a proper chance outside the occasional shot when I had already knocked back eight drinks and not thinking rationally anymore. Touring the distillery and sample the whiskeys properly changed my view completely. After ordering some food by our AirBNB, we made our way over to the Bow Street Distillery location where we took a guided tour that included the history of Jameson and their whiskey-making process. While Bow Street no longer produces the actual whiskey, they do showcase Jameson in the best possible way with their museum, gift shop, and bar that offers an expansive array of whiskeys to drink on the rocks or as a mixed drink. When you take the tour that includes the tasting -- which is what we did, you receive tickets for a complimentary Jameson drink (either on the rocks, or with ginger ale). The tasting we experienced takes places towards the end of the tour explaining the history of the Jameson family and how they began a producing their famed whiskey. Each attendee for the tasting sampled a glass of Jameson with glasses of American and Scotch Whiskey. It was fascinating to compare the various approaches, with the American one more sweet and the scotch more peat-like. I really enjoyed the tour as our guide was very gregarious and engaging, especially when explaining how to smell and taste the whiskey. As a fan of whiskey (and now Irish Whiskey), touring the Jameson Distillery on Bow Street is worth your while if you're visiting from elsewhere and is your first time in Dublin. read more

I really liked the tour. it was a lot of virtual stuff but you got a ton of history on the distillery and history of whiskey. KY bourbon barrels are a must and at the end you get a tasting. I was not crazy about the mixed drink but everything else was very good and I got my own bottle and a bottle for a buddy with my name on it. read more

I've been to this distillery twice now (once pre pandemic and just today) and I can only say good things about it. If you're a big Jameson fan like myself, you will love the drinks. The old fashioned to the sweet fruity drinks - all are great and well balanced. Today I took the cocktail making class. We learned how to make three drinks: a punch, a strawberry sour, and an old fashioned. Again, every drink was awesome, partly because I made them! *chef's kiss* The only thing that's kinda a bummer is that they don't sell any food. I personally like to snack with cocktails but oh well. Don't worry though, there are tons of options in this neighborhood. Make your way here you won't be disappointed! read more
We visited for a tour of the distillery and it was an excellent tour! Everyone was incredibly welcoming and we even brought our one-year-old, who also enjoyed the tour (mostly she enjoyed the leaves in the ground). The entire experience exceeded my expectations and they were also very safe in relation to COVID precautions! The food truck out front was a delightful and delicious stop for lunch and all the people were beyond friendly! The grounds are so pretty it's worth a tour just to see the old buildings! read more
I may be biased but the Jameson Distillery tour was 100% better and intimate than the Guinness unorganized "tour." Our group learned a lot about the history, production, and the financials about Jameson. We all enjoyed the 40-ish minute guided tour with included tastings and a complimentary drink at the end. There's a gift shop where they have a bunch of souvenirs and overly priced bottles of Jameson, but worth looking around. Whether you're a Jameson fan or not, learning about the history through an informative tour is worth the visit. Tickets are 20 euros for a fun whiskey tour and a good time in the distillery. I wish I could remember the name of the lady who gave our tour, she was very friendly, prompt, very professional and on point with every presentation. I recommend coming when they open and booking the first tour. We were able to walk around and take pictures before the tour started without a crowd. As it got closer to noon, more and more people started coming in. So glad we came in early! Fun times. Sine Metu (without fear), cheers! read more
This tour is awesome. It's guided and is informative. I arrived right as they opened and took the tour at 10:15. I was not crowded, which was nice. They lead you through the history of Jameson through a very cool interactive presentation with cool effects and lighting. Then, you get to sample different whiskey types (Irish whiskey, Scottish whiskey, American whiskey). This was really cool. At the end of the tour, they have a cool little gift shop (which was surprisingly affordable) and you get a free drink (choice of whiskey neat, whiskey on the rocks, or whiskey + ginger + lime). The whiskey + ginger ale + lime was recommended by the tour guide so that's what I got, which was so good that it is now my go-to drink. Overall I would highly recommend this tour. It's on the same level as Guinness, if not better. read more

What a great experience! The entrance was striking with the large bronze container- a relic from when this used to be an active distillery I'm sure. Cool Jameson barrels and flowers out front too. We were greeted warmly at the door. No need to card us mature women ;) We noticed the rustic decor and the cool Jameson bottle chandelier. There was a lively vibe as many people were ordering unique Jameson drinks from the bar and enjoying them at nearby tables. We got in line for the different experiences and decided to do the Bow Street Experience which cost 22 euros for 40 minutes. Great tour which included the history of Jameson Irish whiskey and an area where we got to touch and smell ingredients. Finally, we tasted the best selling scotch (Johnnie Walker), the best selling American whiskey (Jack Daniels) and then the Jameson. Our tour guide, Conner, was adorable, funny and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour. read more
We took the Bow Street Experience tour, then afterwards had the Secret Tasting Experience in the private office of John Jameson. The guided tour had about 20 of us and was a general tour and introduction to Jameson whiskey, their history and whiskey making process. The actually distillery is in Middleton, County Cork. The Bow Street building functions as sort of a visitors center and also houses a bar, souvenir and gift shop, a cask room, John Jameson's private office, and some other administrative offices. The Bow Street Experience tour was fun and informative and lasted probably 30-40 mins. There was a tasting in the end that let us compare a Jameson blend to two other whiskeys (both were American). It's fun, casual and informative. However, the Secret Tasting was our favorite part of this visit. We were the only two people in the tasting so Christopher, our Ambassador, tailored it specifically for us. We were ushered into John Jameson's private office which had been renovated to its past rich mahogany glory. His old desk and chair were there and in the same room was a full bar. We tasted 4 premium whiskeys, 2 of which are only available in the distillery. Christopher talked to us about the specific flavor profiles of each whiskey. He taught us how to enjoy whiskey. It was a marvelous learning experience in a beautiful setting. Since we were the only two there and it was the last tour of the day, Christopher gave us much more time than the 40 mins specifically allotted. We learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are at all a lover of fine whiskey and want a more advanced tasting experience, I highly recommend the Secret Tasting Experience. This was a gift for my husband and he was delighted with it. read more

Did the Bow St Experience and had a great tour guide Colm. The tour is very interactive that includes multiple historical demonstrations and immersive experiences. The tasting was top notch, sampling 3 whiskeys and enjoying a full drink as well with cost of admission. A must stop while in Dublin read more
We bought our tickets in the distillery and only had to wait 30min for our tour to start. It was a weekday and we didn't have to wait in line at all. While waiting for our tour, we enjoyed our complimentary drink that comes with the ticket. You either get Jameson neat or a cocktail with ginger and lemon. We got one of each. The cocktail was refreshing and not too sweet. We did order a drink from the bad. It was and old fashioned IPA. That was pretty good too. You can take your drinks on the tour. The tour was informative. They do not distill in that location anymore. At the end, you do three whisky tastings from different locations. We had the Jameson, American whiskey and scotch. WiFi is available and it works well. The bathrooms are clean and there's plenty of stalls. read more

We didn't get the chance to spend much time in the bar area at the Jameson in Cork so wanted to stop in the Dublin Jameson. So glad we did. There is a beautiful bar area to have a drink after a tour or on your own. We decided to try one of their cocktails made with their own flavored simple syrup. They also added egg whites. Great bartenders to talk to although they were very busy. We were also able to get our tasting certificate since we didn't have time in Cork. It was very busy at the bar but everyone was very friendly. Stop by and learn about Jameson and the wonderful history. read more

Great tour to learn about the history of Irish whiskey!! I am not a whiskey drinker, and I learned how to drink whiskey and appreciate the taste of Jameson! For whiskey lovers - this is great because you get to learn about the history of Jameson and all the work it takes to make the product. For USA fans - ask about Jameson products you can take home that are not offered in the States! I would have rated them 5 stars if their bar offered all Jameson products to try or more Jameson products to try on the tour. You cannot visit Dublin without coming to this historical distillery. Ireland has a very serious history in whiskey, and its on this tour where you can learn about that history. The old distillery is a beautiful building. Seriously, the decorating is amazing, and they have all different types of Jameson bottles to ogle over. The bar area is inviting, and even without doing a tour you can come check this place out for their mixology. Their bartenders are good, and the drinks are tasty. The tour itself is probably about 30-45 minutes. It includes whiskey samples, and a ticket to get a drink at the bar after the tour was completed. They discuss the process of making Jameson, what sets Irish whiskey apart from Scotch and American made whiskies, and a little bit of Jameson's history. I also opted to add on a Whiskey shakers tour, which was a super cool experience. I was on the tour alone so it actually ended up being private as no one else had signed up for it. I learned how to make 3 different Jameson cocktails, and got to drink all 3 of them. Definitely make sure you eat something before doing this tour because these cocktails were tasty and strong. It was really interesting to learn the mixology side of the distillery. As a bartender this was a really interesting learning experience, but I think it would be really fun for anyone especially if you come with a group! After my tours were done, and souvenirs were browsed I sat at the bar, and had a delicious Jameson rosemary sour cocktail. There were quite a lot of people hanging out at the bar as it was late afternoon. It was a really nice atmosphere to hang around in for a while before heading off to the next adventure. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Dublin. It is a really cool space, and you are able to learn a lot about the history of Jameson. read more
Oh my god Becky! Look at all that whiskey!! For a non Jameson drinker, this was an awesome experience. And then some. I'm glad I did it. Also, it's freezing cold in Dublin in March. I was looking for an indoor activity, this was the first on the list! Uber here from my hotel. Didn't have reservations but I got here right before they open. The guy was nice enough to let me wait inside. Freezing af!!! The 10 am tour was sold out so I got the 11 am tour. Wasn't bad actually. It's quite pretty inside. You get to check out the bar, the whiskey! And you can get your free drinks from the tour before you start your tour: no lines! So I did. Whiskey ginger for 10 am breakfast: check check!! The tour itself was fun. A lot of facts, history and use of amazing graphics and designs! Love the rooms where they had presentations. Graphics were awesome. Engaging too!! It was about 45 minutes to an hour tour with a tasting in the end. Tasting room was beautiful. Dark! Dim lit. All the lights made whiskey look that much better. That part I only sniffed. And swirl. You taste 3-4 whiskey in a flight. And a glass of water! Which was the only thing I finished or had. Definitely would be sloshed if I did the tasting. Overall, it was fun. Much more fun than I thought it'd be. So beautifully kept too. And you can bottle your own! A must for Jameson lovers. And can't go wrong for non Jameson drinkers like me too. I, myself, am not a big whiskey drinker and know next to nothing about it, and I was completely enthralled in this tour! We did the basic tour and it included a tasting and a free drink, and our guide was so enchanting and there was never a lull in the conversation. Beautifully made and the technology to go along with the guide's stories was mesmerizing. They may make a me whiskey drinker yet!! read more

Had so much fun, only complaint is that I wish the tour was longer (and that there was one more whiskey in the tasting). The guided tour though is genuinely very good, very informative and fun. I feel like I learned a lot and had fun walking from room to room to learn about the history of Jameson, how it's made, and how to drink it. Would highly recommend doing the guided tour & maybe some of the other experiences, but definitely at the guided tour. read more
I am a big fan of Jameson and I was so excited that one of our first stops in Dublin was to the Jameson Distillery! If you're here you must take the tour, it's not very expensive at 20 Euros a person, which includes a Jameson cocktail for before, during or after the tour. The tour is so informative, I learned that the founder John was actually from Scotland, if you have a bottle you can actually see his family crest and motto which translates "Without Fear." Absolutely inspiring history and the process for making beer and whisky is almost the same. My husband is a brewer and so he found it all really intriguing! One of my favorite parts of the tour was whisky tasting where you compare Jameson to Scottish Whiskey(Scotch) and America's version of whiskey. I like all three but it was really fun to compare the three! We ended up coming home with travel size bottles and other little souvenirs from the shop. We ended our tour with some more cocktails, I ended drinking a Sip and a Promise which was refreshing while my Bryan ordered the Caskmates with IPA, before it came out in the states. I really appreciate Jameson more after this tour, I definitely recommend it to everyone! read more
