There are two drawbacks to this playground. 1) there are sometime porta potties available, but the park restrooms are not too close, and locked for the most part. and 2) there is no fence around the area, so you need to pay attention to make sure your kids don't wander. Bikes balls and…read moreyaks Wilson Park is a great 75 acre park that has soccer fields, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, jogging trails, a bike path and even a boat launch ramp. Everything is in great condition and extremely well maintained and the facilities are well used in the warm weather. Nice areas to have a picnic, walk a dog or take a stroll by the water. The boat launch tends to get crowded int he summer but there is a separate little areas just for canoes and kayaks so they don't have to wait for the larger craft. A very thoughtful touch indeed. A great park for just about anything you can think of. Whether you want to kick, swing, bounce, peddle, cast or paddle you will find this park to just about the perfect place.

A perfect escape from the summer heat, and big bonus that the coffee shop next door delivers until late afternoon. My daughter had a blast toddling around, checking out all the activities and watching the bigger kids. So many cool things to explore. While during one visit it was quite busy due to camps and parties, everything remained clean, safe, and secure. Loved the themes of the different areas and that age recommendations were provided. When it's busy, you pay for 2-hours per child, with 2 adults free per child. It's a very affordable experience. If it's not busy, you can stay as long as you'd like. You're welcome to bring outside food (I saw many families bring pizza for Friday not dinner, great idea imo) and they have some food and drink available for purchase on-side in addition to the adjacent coffeeshop. This really is a huge win and I'm so happy to have this in the area!

There's also huge rocks you can take a seat and relax on, and everyone we passed was so friendly -- but we only passed a few people every once in a while. The best part? It's covered in the coooolest graffiti on the inside and outside of cement tunnels and abandoned structures that you can walk through. I've never seen anything like it! There was good amount of shade when we were there, and plenty of benches for parents to sit while keeping an eye on the kids. The playground itself is clean, well-kept, and has equipment for both toddlers and older kids. On top of that, there's a basketball court right next to it, which is great for kids/parents who want to shoot some hoops. Parking is easy, and the area feels really family-friendly.
