Found this gem of the playground while visiting the area. The play area is fully fenced, which gives so much peace of mind with little ones running around. There was good amount of shade when we were there, and plenty of benches for parents to sit while keeping an eye on the kids. The playground itself is clean, well-kept, and has equipment for both toddlers and older kids. On top of that, there's a basketball court right next to it, which is great for kids/parents who want to shoot some hoops. Parking is easy, and the area feels really family-friendly. read more

This is one of the better parks I've been to with my 2 year old and she absolutely loves it. All the slides and the fire truck. All busy play with basketball court as well. One of the safer ones because it's actually all fenced in so if your child runs there's no way to get out. She made some new friends and I love how there is trash cans and park bench's to sit. A plus is that ppl drop off plenty of rude on toys for the kids. read more

I will almost always choose village Playground over some my other local parks because it has a full fenced in park and has plenty of different climbing activities and lots of slides. Swing area and even basketball courts which are never in use so if you need to ball out of control while your kid plays go for it. I like that people do drop off ride toys but it also means some people drop off crap read more

This place is a little gem. I was happy that I brought along my coffee because the fenced in area allowed me to relax while the little ones ran around. With kids of different ages I rarely get to enjoy myself at the park because one child is typically bored or the other one is frustrated that she is too little to play on anything. This park has it all swings, slides, toy climbing walls and much, much more!!! The park is completely fenced in and there is very little trash in the area which is a big plus! We went first thing in the morning when you typically have to fight for a swing. There were a few families there but it was not crowded at all and the other kids all shared and played nicely together. The main area for improvements would be to have bathrooms available. If I was potty training my child this would not be a good place to go. Add this to your list of summer adventures with your kids and your won't be disappointed. I challenge you to let your inner child out and try walking across the rocking balance beam :-) read more

Beautiful, secure area with creative playground for kids. This area is gated with mostly polite parents who shut the gate behind them, the area is entirely fenced making it a secure area for tots to run. The many different structures/boats/slides/seesaws/spinny chair things and balance beams make this playground tops in my book. It compares with the likes of the India Point Park playground only it feels cleaner/less shady. Lots of benches/sidewalks (bring ur skates for little ones) and trees on the edges for shade. It abuts a gated basketball court as well! read more

While this playground was well maintained, secure, and had lots of fun equipment, there was nearly no shade to be found. The structures were all too hot to play on except for one on the far end and, after a short while, it got to be a bit monotonous. What's the point on having great equipment if you get scalded every time you sit or grab hold? read more

Great playground - my 3 & 4 year olds had a blast. The fenced in playground makes it easy to relax with a cup of coffee while the kids play. There's plenty of shade and variety of equipment for the kids to play on. read more

This was a nice park, the playground was clean, it had plenty for kids to do, there were picnic tables and plenty of shade.

As a resident of Commercial St for 18 years I am happy to see the great reviews and I have too agree with them BUT there are a few issues I would like to talk about, the trash that is left behind. I have seen parents while putting their kids in their cars dumping everything from coffee cups and lunch bags to dirty diapers in the parking lot. It's totally disgusting and it's the neighbors that have to clean it. The city does not maintain parking lot we do. Please take your trash with you or use the trash barrel inside the playground. To those parents who let their kids scream that high pitched scream for hour on end PLEASE remember other people live there and I don't believe it would be allowed if it was in your own back yard so why should it be there. Please go home when the park closes at dusk. I look forward to a few hour that I can go out on my porch before the teens start coming and hanging out there. There are people who stay there WITH their children, having dinner there till 9:00 pm while their kids are still running around screaming and you can not ask them to leave with out there being a problem,I have been verbally and physically threatened by parents more than a few times. Lastly, if you have a dog please don't bring them with you, they are not allowed in the playground and we really don't want to hear them barking because they are tied to the fence for the hour or so you may be there. I'm done with my rant and just maybe this might make a difference... With all that said to all the parents who do the right thing by the residents of Commercial St. I thank you and it is a pleasure to see the smiles on the faces of so many kids who have enjoyed the playground. read more

Not a bad park but more for those 5 and under. My little guy is 7 and was really too big for everything and got bored quickly. Plenty for the littles to do though. 2 jungle gym, set of 2 swings and 2 toddler swings, a little play truck, a boat, 2 strange looking climbers, and a few rocking/spinning chair. There's also double half court for basketball. A little over cast today, but seems like plenty of shade and places to sit. Street parking only, but I didn't have any trouble. read more
