Decent food but a tad on the salty side overall. Service was efficient and when we complained about the excessively salty risotto it was replaced with no questions. The bruschetta was quite large and we would have preferred if it was pre-cut as it was a bit hard to share/eat. Polenta chips were more like polenta chunks but in any case they were pretty tasty. We chose to dine here as it is one of Jamie Oliver's more family friendly restaurants. This restaurant is located in the Westfield Shopping Center in Shepherd's Bush, just west of Nottinghill. If this is your first time to the mall, the restaurant may be a little hard to find. All of the major sit down restaurants are located in an area called the southern terrace. Jamie's Italian has a nice casual yet hip atmosphere. The staff pretty much are uniformed in blue jeans, white button down shirts and dark ties. Our server was super nice and friendly. I had checked out the menu before hand and was very excited to order the spaghetti and meatballs and the octopus ravioli. There were a number of items that sounded good that I wanted to try, but landed on these two. We had ordered salads but everything came out at once to my astonishment. The good was prepared pretty quickly so there was not too much of a wait. The spaghetti and meatballs were just okay, and fell short of my expectations. The meatballs were rather small but numerous. I would have preferred on large meatball or several medium sized ones. The spaghetti was a little clumpy and over cooked (you could tell it was boiled ahead of time). The squid ink ravioli, on the other hand, was exceptional. There was a spicy kick to the tomato sauce, which I loved. The portions and prices were decent. We ended the meal with a slice of the blueberry olive cake. It was wow amazing! It was drizzles in honey and cream---love! Overall a decent mall restaurant. Great Restaurant. Love this chain but this one gets top marks today as the service was superb. Friendly enthusiastic and knowledgeable on the menu. Using a the JI gold card got us a free taster and even a special treat either a bottle of wine or a soup starter. Food came out promptly and service was again top marks. The staff were continually working quickly and with a purpose yet remained friendly & fun. Well done team ! Food was fresh and cooked well.. Fast becoming our regular place to go in these parts. After coming here a few years ago, we fell in love with the food. We were so excited when Jamie Italian open multiple restaurants in Toronto...let's just say we are glad we tried it here first. So, when we return to London for a visit, it is the first restaurant we hit. We were not disappointed at all. Our server, Iryna, was very friendly and helpful with choosing our courses, and her recommended choices hit our cravings perfectly. Our small Seafood Salad is not what we are used to, but she convinced us to try it, and it was amazing. the seasoning, sauce, how it is put together is just right on point. My wife normally would not eat beats but she finished half of the beats. That's how good it was seasoned and cooked. My wife choose to have the Small Seafood Linguine. The seafood was fresh, for sure, and it was cooked in fish stock instead of the usual cream sauce. The seasoning was just brilliant! Everything come together just the way it should. My wife also very appreciative of the perfect portion. She could have more, but then she will have no room for dessert. To be honest, I was a little jealous of her dish and wish there was more. Not that I don't like my dish, because I love mine. The pulled lamb was braised in a LOT of red wine and Iryna was not exaggerating, as you can taste the wine but not the alcohol, so it was full of flavours. The pasta was cooked just right and complimented the lamb just the way it should. I could have more, but HAVE to save room for dessert. After much deliberation, we settled on The Ambassador. Normally, we could each have our own, but since we only had lunch three hours ago, we can't. The Ambassador was the right choice for us to hit the spot. The chocolate covered chocolate moose was just the right amount of chocolate, not overdoing it at all, and when have it with the ice cream and the toffee sauce, each spoonful just make your mouth go "mmmmm". read more

Friday evening and I was with an elderly friend who is a seriously fussy eater. Her dietary regime has many dos and don'ts and and when she orders I am often reminded of Sally from 'When Harry Met Sally ordering her salad. It is often difficult to find a place we can both enjoy but she was very much wooed by the 'Jamie' brand. It was easy to find something appetising for me but my dear friend spent time initially ordering off menu till I realised she had inadvertently created something on the menu. The waiter was more patient than he is likely paid to be. The outdoor seating was lovely this time of year and it is actually rare at Westfields as most places that offer space outside seem to totally avoid the sun. Equally, should the weather turn, the booths inside look cool and comfy. We were there pretty early and the service was swift but it did start to fill up pretty quickly and I can imagine that at full capacity the service would slow a little as its a pretty large venue. I ordered the Pesto Ravioli and my friend ordered a Tomato Salad with Salmon... When our dishes arrived I thought they just looked quite beautiful. Happy to say they were equally tasty and we both cleared our plates without much effort. I tend to do this but for my friend this is quite a rarity. I also opted for dessert (can't say no to Tiramisu!) It was quite scrummy and the orange zest added a new dimension. I'm a firm believer that the loos tell you a lot about an establishment and I was (strange as it sounds) delighted with the loos here. The staff were friendly, attentive, speedy and patient and I really can't fault the overall experience. I only gave it a 4 because it still isn't the best Italian food I've ever tasted and 4.5 is not possible. A pleasant surprise and Mr Oliver clearly takes putting his name to something seriously. It was raining and we were hungry. we went to Westfield mall to take cover and we decided to try our Jamie's Italian. The restaurant is modern / trendy fill and clean Prices are decent and when the dishes came out, it seems reasonable for the price. I ordered the Seafood Bucatini: tube spaghetti steamed in a bag with crab, mussels, shrimps, scallops, squid, garlic, capers, chili, white wine and tomatoes. This dish smelled so good, the garlic, white wines,and the capers made it very flavorful. The tube spaghetti absorbed the flavors of the seafood mixed with garlic, white wine, chili and capers. It was very well balanced and the pasta weren't soggy. Scallop was a whole scallop on a shell and it was very meaty. All the seafood tasted fresh, no rotten mussels or clams. The squid was cooked just right, so was the scallop. I finished this dish within minutes -- i wish the breads were complimentary then I can use the bread to finish off the sauce from my meal. read more

The food is normally at a very high standard, although sometimes it is clear the chef is having an off day (when the food isn't as nice as normal. Good food, slow-ish service. We had about 20 minute wait at 7pm on Tuesday for 3 people, no reservation. The servings of appetizers are tiny - but delicious. We had the truffle smoked meat, bread plate, mozzarella/tomato/basil salad, and fried mushrooms. It was all delicious and the 3 of us annihilated the plate in moments. The mains took a bit - truffle risotto, chicken, and carbonara. Everyone enjoyed their meals but were not blown away. The risotto was tasty but undercooked (not creamy), though it could've been because we started to run late for our show towards the end of the dinner. My husband and I checked this place out when we were visiting London and to be honest I did not have high expectations. I browsed the menu before going and suprisingly a lot of the things on the menu caught my eye. We ordered the crispy polenta as an appetizer and he ordered the turbo fucsili arribiata and I ordered the bucatini carbonara. All of the food was amazing!! After watching Jamie's show on TV I was quite excited to try out his restaurant. The atmosphere is really cosy and familiar and the decorations match the rustic feel of the food. For antipasta we picked the crab bruchetta and smokey arancini. The Arancini was amazing, really flavourful and the sauce matched perfectly. The bread for the bruchetta was too crunchy and made it difficult to eat. For mains we chose the rabbit ragu and the pumpkin panzerotti. The rabbit was melt in your mouth and the sauces were light. Both dishes tasted nice and fresh and were quite simple. The food here is good, but it does nothing to stand out of the crowd. The service and atmosphere are amazing, but don't go in expecting the food to wow your taste buds. read more

My husband and I have long been curious about Jamie's Italian and decided to make it our restaurant of choice for a double date with my cousin and his lovely wife. Reservations were very simple. I hate ridiculous processes that never seem to go right when you arrive at the door. It was pouring rain and the minute we walked in, we were greeted (with a smile) and seated to a spacious booth located near the restrooms (which I will get to later). Our server handed us our menus and gave us time (but not too much time) to order our drinks which didn't really arrive until we did some polite inquiring about their whereabouts. We ordered some peronis, a ginger beer (made in house) and I had a cocktail made with champagne and a berry puree - very refreshing. We searched the menu for vegetarian options before selecting the following starters: the risotto balls with arrabiata sauce (excellent), the vegetable platter (which came with a variety of pickles, cheeses, etc), a bruschetta with sweet pea (absolutely fantastic, I'd eat that again and again) and some more drinks. Everything about the starters was lovely. Our mains included one cannelloni, one custom made pasta (my husband is very particular about his pasta and tends to like pasta arrabiata with a twist or two), and a few of the raviolis (vegetarian) which we devoured with great haste. We took our time with our meal so that we could have a proper catch up so we didn't really mind that service was slow - the restaurant was packed, every table was full. Dessert was absolutely fantastic. We ordered the frangiapane (I ate everything, down to the last crumb), a brownie with ice cream, and a trio of ice creams (I believe they are made in house as well). Everything was demolished with ease. We really enjoyed our meal. OUR ONLY GRIPE...is that the toilets give off a HORRIBLE smell of sewage. You can be sitting beside them or sitting quite a distance away and smell the inside of the restroom. People sitting closer to the ladies and men's restrooms asked to switch tables. It was a big disturbance in our meal and certainly not appetizing. Sadly, I'm not sure what can be done but it effected everyone's meal the night we were there - not something I'd expect at a restaurant this popular. Barring the awful smells from the restroom, we'll be back - with reservations, because I can't imagine ever coming here without one. Very good meal, would like to see one or two more vegetarian options, but it was well worth the wait. read more

Hmmm. Hmmmmmmmm. This, my friends, is the sound of my indecision. On one hand, my meal of green olives, wild rabbit Ragu and Tiramisu was nice. I was starving and it did the job. On the other hand, the olives (a starter) were brought out the same time as the main, on ice, which then melted, leaving me to both fish out my olives and ruining the polenta-in-a-cup that sat in the middle. The rabbit was lovely, absolutely no complaints. The Tiramisu was NOT tiramisu. I couldn't taste hardly any coffee-flavour. Massive fail. The service was great, being so near to Westfield while still outside of the masses congregating in the shops was nice but still just unsure I'd want to go again. read more

We came here for our staff Christmas party. The food was alright. Lots of different starters. I really enjoyed the fried cheese. Roasted veggies were cold, which I didn't enjoy. I ordered the roast turkey for my main. Which I regretted. First off, the turkey was tough and dry. It was like a stuffed tenderloin, not like a roasted bird. There was some stuffing rolled with it and some form of yellow jus for gravy. One bite was not chewable, yuck. I hate when that happens, it really put me off my dinner. The dessert was alright, the lemon cheesecake with berry compote. Nothing to write home about. How can you mess up a cheesecake? We ordered two bottles of white wine to share. First bottle was nice. The second bottle of wine, you think would be the same, but it was some godawful cheap wine. It was so gross. Overall, I won't be coming back any time soon. read more

I highly recommend the liver main entree, something I never had in the U.S. But a very nice surprised for me. The chicken liver bruschetta was also very delightful. We stayed in Hilton Kensington, it is an easy walk from there. It was no wait time on a Thursday night. They have an extensive vegetarian menu. We had a drink specials of two for 10 pounds for their summer spritzer. We had a chicken dish, gnocchi, and a sooper salad, and some polenta fries which were good and filling. The waitress was absolutely delightful and nice. She lived up to the rest of the reviews that this is a friendly restaurant. I haven't visited the others in the chain as we are visiting from the States. I would come again and bring people here as a conscious choice. The prices are reasonable for London and Westfield. Went there for an anniversary today and was appalled by the quality of the food. I am a gold club member so I love Jamie's usually. The steak cost £22.95 and tasted gross. I don't know why...sort of like off mushrooms. I think it was cooked on an unclean girl because they do offer truffles as an extra on the steak. It was served already cut in pieces and was just a bad cut of meat. Seriously, my husband felt sick afterwards. My chicken club had bone and gristle in it. Fair play to them, after we complained they did comp our drink and side. But I don't believe we should have been charged for the steak. I am not used to complaining at restaurants and I hate wasting food, but couldn't finish any of the meals except the polenta chips. I don't known if the standard has dropped permanently? I really don't know the fuss about this place is. Whilst our cheese and meat and assorted bread starters were plentiful and tasty, the fat/grease from my turkey Milanese main left me feeling as if I might have a heart attack! Really not what I would expect from something holding Mr Olivers name at all! It's also not cheap. The staff however were friendly, the wine was great (red house), and the restaurant itself is nicely furnished and warm. I didn't go into this restaurant with high expectations because normally these types of places are over rated and only loved by the chef who has their name in the title. Well I was pleasantly surprised when we went there without a reservation on a Saturday night and was able to be seated in 30 minutes. I really don't like Jamie's Italian, however I must point out that I seem to be in the minority. Working near Westfield means that whenever a colleague is leaving we will usually have a farewell lunch in Westfield. There are many many restaurants, but 8 out of 10 times we would go to Jamie's. I can be on occasion a bit of a fussy eater, particularly at lunch time. And I felt that there was no 'safe' offering that wasn't also totally boring. Also the menu itself is pretty pretentious, with comments and a layout that it so baffling JUST FORMAT IT LIKE A MENU, DON'T TRY AND TESSELATE IT LIKE IT IS YOUR YEAR EIGHT MATHS HOMEWORK. Also I feel like Jamie Oliver is making some point by having an Italian restaurant in England and NOT putting pizza on the menu. Like he is trying to humiliate us and make a comment about how undistinguished our palates our. I give it two stars because I really like the polenta chips and because there is good space for groups which is probably why we have our leaving lunches there. read more

Where do I start? THE FOOD: There was a few of us, we ordered three starters, when the starters came out, I was a little surprised as it was just slabs of cold meat next to each other. But I thought at least give each item a go, big regret, all items, Salami, Ham, Moterella, Chips were disgusting. At this point I thought okay, starters aren't great, but surely the main course would be better. I played it safe, I order Jools Tuna pasta (they can't get this wrong I thought) when this came out, it looked like it had been microwaved. But I tasted this and it felt like I was easting a whole lemon that was the only taste! THE STAFF: One waiter was rude and unhelpful, the rest seemed fine. THE PRICE: If you look at the above it is shocking, never mind wanting a discount we should of got compensation! As a local and fan of Westfield, I was salivating at the thought of Jamie's Italian opening right on my doorstep. So as soon as it did I went along with a friend. Initial impressions were good; it was buzzing with a friendly, laidback vibe, and attentive staff. However, the spaghetti carbonara I had there was very disappointing a dry, bland affair with spartan flecks of bacon. As any carbonara lover knows, you just cannot overcook the egg in this dish. In fact it's barely cooked and that's what makes the slippery, yellow sauce. Overcook it a fraction and the effect is lost as the egg hardens and you get an eggy sludge, losing your sauce in the process. Had the restaurant been called 'a very average Italian joint', I might have left satisfied. But the name 'Jamie' carries with it a certain promise of excellence and your expectations are raised accordingly. I'm a very big fan of Jamie Oliver generally. Instead of retiring smugly to a pile in Sussex with his squillions and gorgeous family, he's out there on a tough crusade against obesity, which is to be applauded. It would be good though if he could find time to pop back every now and then to remind his chefs about what constitutes authentic Italian cooking. read more

It was such a disappointing experience. The last time I went with a bunch of friends, we all said we would not go to any of Jamie's Italians but as it was convenient I tried again today. Friendly and cheerful waitress, nice interior but slow service and smelly toilet. Above all, the dishes were very disappointing, the chips were so oily that we could see oil dripping on each chip, the garlic & mushroom on toasted bread was covered in olive oil, the toasted bread pieces were soaking wet with olive oil. The main salad dish was very boring. It's a shame with his fame, you expect better than this for his reputation. We would have been much better off going to Pizza Express. read more

I ordered the Epic Brownie via Deliveroo. The product came without the ice cream. I phoned the number, provided for the restaurant in Westfield Sheperd's Bush, but that only brought me to the order center. The customer service rep was very rude. He put me on hold 3 times mid-sentence without apologizing or warning. He blamed the Deliveroo driver and then told me that Deliveroo can help only because he couldn't get through to the restaurant. I then rang Deliveroo, who also tried to contact the restaurant. They too were hung up on mid-sentence. You should be ashamed of your services. It is one thing that you cannot even fulfill a simple order like a brownie properly, but then you treat your customer and the representative of one of your business partner in a rude manner. I do not know who works in that branch, or who runs it, but perhaps they could all do with some training on attention, dealing with customers and basic manners. I will never go near to any of your establishment again after being treated this way. I don't care if the food might be potentially good. You do charge almost £6 for that dessert. I doubt it will leave any good taste in my mouth, with or without the ice cream. read more
