THE BEST Caribbean food I have EVER had in New Jersey. Period. I called beforehand to see if they could make me a vegan dish, and sure enough, they could! I got the ackee (without saltfish), the most delicious rice and peas that were NOT dry, callaloo, cabbage, plantains, and candied yams. Everything was SO delicious!!! I literally ate the entire thing and was sooo full afterward. I definitely should've saved half for later, but when food tastes this good, it's honestly hard to put the fork down! The service was great too. I got my food to-go, but the staff was so kind, friendly, and accommodating. I will 100% be coming back! I absolutely loved getting lunch from here and it did not disappoint- my coworker introduced me to this place when I told her I was craving some good chicken stew curry. Lunch prices are great- pro tip is so try going in person instead of ordering takeout. The workers there are also super friendly and patient as I asked about all the specials they have. OMG THE FOOD IS AMAZING. We ordered a roti..bussin. A jerk chicken with rice n peas..bussin.. they could have gave us an extra piece of chicken, but it was good. We also ordered stew, chicken and yellow rice. everything was so good bursting with flavor.. This is supposed to be a large but somehow I only had about 3 oxtails that tasted very unseasoned , the chef must've changed because a year ago the food was 10 times better but now it taste like they just put everything in the microwave . This is my "go-to" Jamaican spot . I go here at least once a week . The oxtails are fall off the bone , I have also tried the brown stew chicken in the past and it was delicious. If you are nice to the ladies in the front they are pleasant back, never had any issues . They give generous portions that fill you, unlike other Jamaican restaurants I've been to who charge much but give nothing . I have told many of my friends and family about this place and I'm happy to share this review here also. As long as they continue delivering consistent delicious quality food I'll continue to come back. I would like to say, that if you're getting oxtails I found it better to go in the evening , the few times I came earlier than 4pm I've noticed the oxtails were a tad tough. Ordered from this place through Door Dash. My ordered was confirmed by the restaurant. The Door Dasher gave me a call because they told him they didn't have one of the sides I ordered, so I chose something else. When the Door Dasher delivered, I received HALF of the food I ordered. Door Dash claims the restaurant didn't have the other items I ordered. Not sure WHY they confirmed the order having less than half of the things I wanted..... not sure WHY they only notified the Door Dasher of the one side dish. I would have cancelled my order entirely. Jamrock is hands down the best Caribbean restaurant in North Jersey, maybe in all of Jersey. I've eaten here easily 10 different times and every single meal was amazing. The food was good everything was delicious and spicy just like how I like my jerk chicken. I requested to have gravy placed over my rice and peas and it really made the meal superb.
