Coming from a country where you walk into your family doctor's office and would be seen in 20 minutes, figuring out how to utilise my medical insurance was a challenge, but it was all worth it because I found Dr. Threewitt. She was extremely kind and informative, very good at giving information according to the patient's background--after I told her I took psychophysiology in college, she began talking about the quit-smoking drugs in a way that is more technically satisfying and therefore time consuming than I expected a hurried and busy American doctor would be willing to do. The staff was wonderful. As mentioned before, I am completely, actually PAINFULLY, ignorant of the American medical system. I was full of exceedingly strange questions and was dumbfounded when they were answered. Whenever the nurse returned, I'd ask the poor dear sweet girl about the forms, "what exactly are they asking me in this legally correct but logically contradictory sentence?" Never once did she frowned at me or threaten to kicked me out of the office. Bless her. Another thing that I found very wonderful is that the office was willing to work with my time line (the internship did not leave me months to wait for an available appointment).

I have been a patient of Dr. Threewitt for around 10 years. Allow me to begin by saying, I am low…read moreincome and instead of paying for insurance through my company, I would easily qualify for Obamacare or other assisted insurance programs, but I REFUSE because I am too afraid of losing Dr. Threewitt as a doctor. Over the 10 years, she has been nothing but helpful, informative and always willing to sit and explain things to me in detail or answer any questions I have! She has always referred me to the right doctors, if a specialist is needed, and they've always been great referrals; I trust her COMPLETELY with my health and body. To address the person who accused her of being a pill pusher- I realize that review was posted back in 2011, but even back then, that comment is so far from the truth! I was diagnosed with a pinched nerve and fairly severe arthritis in my back in 2006. Dr. Threewitt, before even offering any type of pain prescription, pushed me to go to physical therapy and also gave me exercises to do at home to help alleviate the pain. As the years passed, the physical therapy was not helping as much and I REQUESTED that some sort of pain medication be prescribed to me to help me get through my day or sleep better at night. Even when I requested this, she still tried to suggest other options other than prescription drugs, she expressed to me her concerns about addiction and the damage that prescription pain pills could do to my internal organs. She really did everything in her power to keep me from using prescription meds for my back. So, I know first hand, she is NOT a pill pusher in any way. I absolutely love her, I feel like she's a part of my extended family, I am always happy to see her and never feel embarrassed to ask any questions, I feel more comfortable with her than any doctor I have ever been to and would recommend her to anyone who asked for a referral to a fantastic doctor!

I Got screwed again. Big big surprise. Once again it was…read moretime for refills on my two blood pressure meds so I don't die. Not narcotics, not anything fun, not anything sellable on the street... just regular-ass blood pressure meds to keep my heart working. I called it in five days in advance of running out. 5 days. When calling it in I was given no push back or any notion that my meds would not be filled. Not a single hint. So after the five days when I'd run out of such meds I went to the pharmacy to pick up my refill. And turns out only one of the refills was sent. They had to give me loaner pills so I don't drop dead. What the hell is even going on with this office? Ever since they became Muir medical group I can't get my medicine refilled ever without some kind of giant hiccup! These aren't narcotics. These are blood pressure pills so I don't croak! This is so insane. The doctors here are very good. I love my doctor! But this office is so screwed up and unorganized, unethical, and doesn't care someone could just die without their meds.... I'm looking for a new dr now after several incidents regarding refilling my blood pressure meds. Enough is enough. Again these doctors rule! But the office has ruined their practice and made it completely terrible. I have family members that go here that have had the same bad experience with trying to get their meds. I have had multiple situations where I need blood pressure meds and they've been so nonchalant and just "they will get refilled when they get refilled" with zero worry about my physical safety. I'm done. Everyone in this office should be examined for termination. This place is a cesspool for garbage and unethical employees. Everything is about dollars and healthcare means nothing at all. If you work here You should all really reflect on the type of person you are and really analyze what you're okay with. Are you okay with a normal guy dying from cardiac arrest over a mistake you made involving med refills? You are all just cool with a dude dying of a heart attack. This office is the worst thing of the worst. I urge you not to go here. Again, the doctors here rule!!!! But the office is run by nimrods.

Alsheimers Disease Treatment at John Muir Medical:…read more I'm in the middle of trying to help my sister with Alsheimers. Disease. My sister's Primary Dr. is at John Muir Medical Center, yet my Sister is stilling being prescribed medication that was in use 10-20 years ago and not even the Recommended dose! If that doesn't work the Dr. said she might try the new medicines available! My sister will only be in the window of treatable help for a limited time... I surely do not understand why my Sister's Dr. hasn't explained to my Sister and her Husband that my sister might respond if she was referred to a more studied and progressive Neurologist while she is still in a treatable stage!?! Sincerely, sister Linda
