I purchased a pair of boots on Friday - expensive ones. They were a little uncomfortable when I tried them on. I asked the salesgirl about their return policy then. When I put them on today, the right shoe was extremely uncomfortable. I brought them back today for a store credit and was denied as Ellen, the sales person said that they were worn. I insisted that I had only worn them for 15 minutes at home but she insisted that she would not take them back. When I said she had lost a customer, she replied so be it!! I found this store last October and fell in love with the huge selection of comfortable shoes. I was immediately approached by a friendly sales associate and left with a really cute and comfortable pair of sandals on sale that I have worn with shorts, skirts and jeans. I am looking forward to returning to Orange Beach this Spring and shopping at this store. read more

Two 40-something moms and four tween/teen daughters set out for a fully day of shopping. We started here to kick off our planned boutique crawl, to get some major shopping done before back to school in a few weeks. We were kind, dressed appropriately and the youngest of our crew (who is an 11 year old fashionista) was holding a purse to show her mom. The incredibly rude saleswoman made us feel ridiculously unwelcome and told her to put it down. It was a $50 lucite purse. Had anything happened to it, which it didn't, because she's ELEVEN, we would of course purchased it. Disappointing way to start the day, but it didn't slow us down- we hit Wonder 251, Abide, Zavros's, all the great new shops at The Wharf and shopped 'til we dropped. Buyer Beware- JLS is not forthcoming that they don't allow returns for a credit on your credit card- they only allow store credit. Tough policy considering the store is located at a beach/vacation destination with many out of towners entering the store. Policy is not posted on their website and when you make the purchase, the clerk will not warn you of their return policy even if you tell her you live out of town. There is a small return policy sign on the cluttered counter that was hidden by boxes when I made my purchase. Clerk will text you your receipt with return policy, but due to the texting procedure, you don't see the policy until you need to make a return. I drove to the store today to try to resolve the matter with the store manager ( 6 days after purchase) and was told JLS can charge shoes on your credit card but they don't have a way to credit your credit card for a return. Today was a disappointment! I've been shopping from this merchant for years, even under the name of HLHood. They have beautiful shoes, but I can't remember a more impersonal experience. I shopped the entire store and the two female clerks stood behind the desk and never spoke once; not when I walked in, as I shopped; never! I left appalled! They spoke with each other the entire time. I saw no other customer in the store. I went to their other shop, JLS across from the shoe shop and the lady was very attentive. I have shopped there numerous times and had decent experiences. I have also had the experience that another reviewer had with the help being so engaged with conversation they seemed to feel it a burden to assist a customer. However that wasn't the worst of my experiences. I do like the shoes she carries and have purchased numerous pairs. They were running a deal where one purchases a certain amount and receive a $50 rebate or whatever. I had one purchase left to be able to receive the $50. Went in and purchased a couple of pairs of shoes, put the purchase on the same credit card as in the past and was told no this is a new card. EXCUSE ME, it's the same card!! It was some teen waiting on me and I told her same card, even showed her. She said we don't have control over that, if they don't who does! Then she said can purchase something else and be able to get it. I told her why on earth would I purchase something else when I had just spent $400! Nothing was done to change the situation. This was August of 2016 and I have not shopped there since. I have been in Orange Beach but have not gone back and have no plans to do so. Jane Loves Shoes has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was in there just a few days ago and I was the ONLY person in the store and was never greeted in any way. I was browsing the store for 5-10 minutes and the woman working (I hope she was not the owner because she was incredibly unprofessional) completely ignored me. I even went over by the counter where they had some earrings to look at them and she was standing behind the counter so it put me about 3-4 feet away from here and she continued to completely ignore me.
