Since I am a nursing student I was required to take a class for childbirth prep because during our…read morenext semester we will be focusing on labor and delivery. I was only required to take a 4 week class, but I was very interested in this class because it takes a different road than most birthing classes; Birthing from within... letting your body tell you what you need when you need it. A long time ago, woman were capable of this.... Why has it moved so far out of our control as woman and into the hands of doctors? Now woman are not even given the chance to try birthing on their own... they are just told they have to go to the hospital and have medications because they are just not capable. This class teaches a woman exactly how to deal with everything SHE will go through rather than what an epidural looks like and when you can get it.... I have had 5 children and have never been this informed about childbirth. One of the most interesting things I learned about was c-section rates and why they are so high. The teacher, Christine, brings a ton of knowledge to the table (as you can see from her bio on her web site). She has such a soft, gentle teaching style that you feel so lifted, in tune and connected in this class that you are sad when it is over. When I left (and I was not even pregnant) I felt as though I could accomplish anything, I felt so empowered! I honestly could not say enough good things about this wonderful class and teacher. If you are pregnant, you will not regret taking this class no matter what kind of birth you want! We are now expecting our next baby and will DEFINITELY be going back to the childbirth class before we are due to take a refresher course! Also her prenatal yoga and prenatal belly dance classes will be starting soon and I can't wait to take them with her! She also mentioned a possibility of a mother/baby yoga class in the future.... I hope in about 7 1/2 months!

Such a great studio for yoga loving moms!…read more I did a group class with my NMS cohort and absolutely loved it. Here are a few highlights: + Baby friendly space! They have mats, toys, diaper changing station etc. It's super welcoming, so you don't need to worry if your little one starts making noise. The instructor even comes around and offers to hold your baby (with your permission!) + Clean and super aesthetic space. All new equipment! Calm vibes! Loved it. + Amazing workout! I think I was biased to think that just because you bring your baby it wouldn't be a real workout... but it really was. I go to CorePower regularly and I was more sore from this class than my usual hot yoga. A major plus that exercises focused on your pelvic floor and all the areas you need to work on post birth. Convenient location in Willow Glen! There are 2 parking spaces in front of the studio, but I think most people do street parking. Lots of different classes to try! I'll definitely be back with my baby in tow :)

The atmosphere is calm, supportive, and completely judgment-free, which makes all the difference when you have a little one with you. The instructors are not only knowledgeable and encouraging, but also incredibly understanding of moms' needs. It's such a gift to be able to move, breathe, and connect with other moms in a warm and inclusive environment. If you're looking for a place that truly supports both you and your baby, this is it I also love how they have boppys, mats, and toys for your baby so you don't need to haul your entire life.

I would 1000% recommend doing one-on-one training sessions--it's the best money I've ever spent on myself. Thanks to our workouts, I had an incredibly easy delivery and post-partum recovery. Tal radiates positive energy! She kept me smiling, fit, motivated, and--most importantly--SAFE throughout my pregnancy. Her workouts were not only fun but also incorporate many moves that can actually be used during labor. She was always in-tune to my needs and would adapt her routines--even mid-workout--to make sure I was safe and pain-free. I also loved that she emphasized important foundations (e.g. proper breathing technique, connecting breath to core and pelvic floor, safe ways to get in/out of bed, ways to avoid diastasis recti, etc). I continue to use those skills daily. Not only is Tal a mama herself, she has years of experience as a specialized prenatal/post-partum personal trainer. She even stays up-to-date with ACOG recommendations and takes refresher maternal health courses. As a physician, I was impressed with the depth of her knowledge. If you train with her, you get access to her Strong Mama Fitness online for free--another incredible resource. Although she is no longer local in the Bay Area, she is available for 1-on-1 virtual training via Zoom. Our virtual sessions were super convenient, all without sacrificing quality. I can't recommend Tal enough!

The massage itself was definitely on the rougher side because she was working through a lot of tight knots, but it was exactly what my back needed. You could tell she really knew what she was doing and focused on the problem areas instead of just going through the motions. By the time I left, my back felt significantly better--honestly better than I expected going in. If you're dealing with muscle tightness or a stubborn knot and want someone who will actually work it out, I'd definitely recommend R & R Wellness Studio.

Having been a head neck and throat cancer recovery patient myself, I suffer from lymphatic drainage issues, inflammation, ear tinnitus, TMJ tightness, major scar tissue on side of my neck where my lymph node is all from surgery, chemo and radiation. I routinely get massages to keep my body functioning. I previously had the softer kind of lymph drainage at a local spot as well as a Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage at a diff location out of my local vicinity. I did respond well to the more intense deep Brazilian style. I was hoping to find a good place that is local and R&R Wellness popped up. I knew I had to get in and after reading reviews and her personal bio online, Erin was the girl I wanted to try. She did not disappoint and actually exceeded what I hoped for. I love that she customizes and listens to how you are feeling what your goals are and caters to that with her skills, talent and TOOLS! She finds the problem areas and knows exactly what each area needs and she puts in the WORK. After my sessions with her I feel the inflammation and fluid retention fade away in the days and weeks after. The cranial TMJ massage broke up a ton of scar tissue and my neck tissue has never felt so soft. It amazes me how much it improved! She truly knows how to heal and has the most powerful hands. I am so happy I found her online and can't thank her enough for all the hard work she puts into my body and how it has helped me in the few months I have been visiting her. Thank you ERIN!

The center is BEAUTIFUL and also has huge tubs you are actually allowed to birth in, unlike other (all to my knowledge) local hospitals that do not allow water births. The perfect in between if you do not really want to do a home birth but want a home birth-like experience in a very gorgeous and peaceful setting! It is also super close to a hospital should you need it (most people do not) and while not needed was great for my peace of mind. They also have a call line where you can ask questions postpartum that is very helpful. Overall, I had a beautiful birth thanks to them and am very grateful. Birth is something you only do a once or a few times in your life, will remember forever, and I am very glad I got to experience this with the team at Casa Natal.

My OB appointments lasted for only 15 minutes and I didn't feel supported or heard. At Casa Natal, every appointment lasted for an hour, the midwives checked not only for my physical but also my mental health and answered all of my questions. I was able to get acquainted to Melissa, Julia and all the student midwives during my visits. I also took the breastfeeding class that Emily hosted and it was informative and helpful. Coming to the actual birth, it was truly a beautiful experience. I got the exact birth that I had hoped for as a first time parent. I felt supported throughout my labor. Melissa, Tara, and Charlie attended my birth and were the best team I could have asked for apart from my husband. Tara and Charlie guided me with different positions and techniques to help progress with the labor. After about 6 hours of laboring at the birth center, I delivered my baby vaginally, without any interventions and I was back home 4 hours after my baby was born. They also provided me with excellent postpartum care and lactation support. If you're looking for a holistic natural birth experience, look no further. This team is it!
