Yelp to the rescue, and within minutes I was on the phone with Valley Trophies. They were able to describe all of the options to me over the phone, and guarantee a pickup within the week. They saved my bacon in so many ways. Getting there was fairly easy, though it was a rainy day and parking is pretty tough in the part of Salinas where they're located. I ended up having to park a few streets down and cut across some alley ways in the rain, but it was worth it. When I walked in they were producing the plaque and had a few questions for me to answer. Management does not care about resident opinions. People have been complaining for 6 to 9 months…read moreabout the food quality going downhill, and nothing has been done. Basic things like eggs not being cooked properly, running out of the main entree at 5:00 p.m. when the dining room opens at 4:30, not ordering enough pie and ice cream, a variety of meals that just don't taste good. They recently had some patio work that they were working on and they boarded up everybody's sliding glass door so they can't get out, which is important for safety. But nobody thought to get building permits?!!?? So the boarding was up longer than it needed to be, and then it was taken down before the project was completed, and now they're going to be restarting the project again. Seems like they don't know their ass from their armpit. They've started some new upgrades to the facility, and the residents had opinions about painting over the warm wood in the entryway and other spaces. Management painted over it anyway. It seems to us that they could spend money to hire better cooks and order better quality food, rather than spending money to upgrade the place when it looks fine as it is. There are some very quality staff that should be commended. Their maintenance staff is kind and responsive. Monica gets ready for reviews from everyone, including us.

The letter carriers here do a great job getting the mail out. No one really knows what a hard job…read moreit can be. They must first sort out a huge box of mail into numerous tiny slots . How they can do it so quickly amazes me. Then once they hit the streets they are pressured to deliver each piece of mail at a very fast pace. There are other staff who hide out watching how quickly the mail is delivered. If you are a new employee and not fast enough in delivering the mail, you will be fired. Not to mention the stress of walking the many miles to deliver mail. And the stress on the body carrying the mail on your shoulders.it is not an easy job at all.
