What a great place to have a trophy or plaque made. I was looking to have a plaque made in a hurry, and knew that it would have to be someone within driving distance of Hollister. Yelp to the rescue, and within minutes I was on the phone with Valley Trophies. They were able to describe all of the options to me over the phone, and guarantee a pickup within the week. They saved my bacon in so many ways. Getting there was fairly easy, though it was a rainy day and parking is pretty tough in the part of Salinas where they're located. I ended up having to park a few streets down and cut across some alley ways in the rain, but it was worth it. When I walked in they were producing the plaque and had a few questions for me to answer. It was done within minutes, and I was on my way looking like a super hero, and not the forgetful procrastinator that I really am ;). Then once it was ready he told me I had to pay $137.00 for the base I asked about. I told him I did order it just asked how much. Then he took the base off and told me I had to pay $50 to get my trophy back to cover the base I paid the extra money. Then got the trophy with out the base. read more

Went in & was helped right away, but I'd like to add one of the employees was very rude, older gentleman(maybe the owner I have no idea). Almost told me they didn't have what I was looking for but ended up having something for me anyways. Didn't even specify that they couldn't engrave because they were full of orders AFTER I asked about it. Really going to sell me blank medals??? But it seemed like he dreaded his job, and also seemed annoyed when I asked if they had silver instead of gold for the medals. I'm paying for a service so why not act like it. You aren't doing me a favor buddy. But overall the medals were nice without the engraving... had to find someone else for that part. But don't count on friendly service if you come here. read more

My young son wanted a trophy for Christmas (not even sure he knows what they signify, but he wanted one!). I asked if one trophy could be made and they said sure, pick out a base and they could arrange as needed. I picked the base and asked to put a gold cylinder on it, with a gold trophy cup on top (he loves gold). Kurt made it and engraved it beautifully in just a few mins. The attention to detail, customer service, and options were amazing. They also have nice metal detectors which I plan on coming back to check out as well. This is an amazing local small business!! This place was HORRIBLE! Give them simple instructions of engraving for a fantasy football championship belt. Went over with the employee including writing it out and verbally telling him what I wanted. It was in remembrance of someone who passed from cancer. Wife went to pick up the plates and one of the plates was done incorrectly!! They told my wife they went by what was written on the form and was not quite sure if it was right! So why not place the call to the employee who took the order? Long story short, I'm stuck with an engraved plate that was done incorrect!! And charge me $38 for something that cannot be corrected nor refund my money. They did not give my wife an option. I will never go back to them as this will be a yearly thing for our fantasy football league. I will look to another engrave that can at least follow simple directions!! read more

HORRIBLE customer service! Stay away from this place unless you want to be treated as if your business does not matter. I ordered a name plate for my office from the owner, Kurt. Not the friendliest person, but that doesn't matter; not everyone is a cheerful person. I described the color and size of the letters I wanted on the name plate. After some discussion and a follow up call to him, I thought hr understood that I did NOT want the font very big. When I picked up the name plate was I surprised. The font was huge for the name plate. I called back and asked to speak with Kurt but her was not in. Some very rude male spike with me ( I wish I could remember his name). Wow, was this guy rude. I explained the situation but this guy didn't care telling me essentially it was my fault for not bringing in a sample. After this guy spoke to me like poop, I said "wow, this is how you treat your customers?" Bottom line, I will never return! read more

I went to Valley Trophy in hopes of putting together a perpetual trophy for an annual horse show that I help put on. I was skeptical since the previous company that I went to were not willing to meet my requests. Not only were they able to get the job done in time, but they were so helpful with my requests and specifications.
