I specifically asked in writing about the cost of a new patient consultation before scheduling…read more During the scheduling phone call the fee discussed was $75. The confirmation email I received listed only the appointment time, address, and parking information -- it contained no mention of any consultation fee. On the day of the visit I was charged $750. When I questioned the amount, I was told that was the correct fee based on our prior conversation. I left the experience feeling the consultation fee had not been clearly or accurately disclosed in advance. The office itself also raised concerns. There was no secretary or front-desk staff, and the space is shared with a beauty salon, chiropractic office, and other services. All communication was handled directly by the doctor. The lack of transparent pricing has left me with no choice but to file a claim in small claims court to resolve the matter.

In all the time I've known Doc he will and HAS researched MANY treatments and procedures out there to help his patient, That's right. Even if only one of his patient has an ailment no one knows of much less treat, he will do all to fix you. Ask him how he got his DRX 9000 Disc Therapy Machine. Go on, ask him! He's going to try and be humble but end story is one of his patient was told he was going to die slowly and painfully from a spinal disease and Dr. Santucci was not going to let that happen on his watch. As one of his not too seriously ill patients, he is nothing but professional, kind, funny, and extremely devoted to your health. Sounds TOO perfect to be real, huh? Just try going against his prescribed treatments and Lord Help you from his wrath. I've had many a verbal spankings when I've cheated and ate something I wasn't suppose to or went lax on my treatments and "homework". You want to be well? You need to trust, believe and DO as Dr. Santucci tells you. After all, it is all for your own good.

I responded to ads I see in the Mercury news for a new treatment for neuropathy. My experience with…read morethis business left me feeling that it is a scam & a sham -- all very strange. At my "'free initial consultation" I was briefly interviewed by a woman who claimed to be a nurse-practitioner & assured me that not only the neuropathy in my feet, but also leg cramps, muscle weakness, & other lower body issues would be ameliorated with "20-30" treatments of electrical stimulation & vitamin injections between my toes. I was not asked to take off my shoes --my feet were never seen or touched. The medical records, x-rays, films, etc. that I'd been told to bring to the initial appt. were never requested, & when I mentioned them I was told they weren't needed just then. Not only did I never meet with the 'doctor' (a D.C. - chiropractor, later online research revealed), he did not even seem to be in the building. In the huge space there were just a few people getting 'treated', hooked up to machines. No one seemed to be monitoring or working with them. I was sent to the receptionist to provide my insurance info, & told that I would get a call when they had confirmed that my insurance would accept their bills & how much would be covered. The ad said the treatment is approved by the FDA & accepted by Medicare -- I am on Medicare, which pays 80% of most expenses. I waited two weeks before calling back, to be told that they still hadn't heard back from my insurance, but would call me when they did. Six weeks later I called again & got an apology for not having been called back. However, I was told only that 'the insurance would probably cover some treatments, but there was no way to know how many'. If this treatment is 'accepted by Medicare', that seems very fishy! I am quite motivated to find an effective treatment for my symptoms, but it did not seem that RegenMed really wanted to enroll me in their program - perhaps I asked too many questions?! They don't seem to be widely accepted by insurance OR Medicare, nor was any effort make to confirm my self-report of symptoms by looking at the medical records I'd brought along or even examining my body. What gives?!!

I actually chose a couple of doctors before but ended up canceling both times. Finally, after more searching, I found Dr. Kristina Hobson in Los Gatos. To be honest, when I first walked into her office, I was already looking for an excuse to cancel again. But once I spoke with her, I was really impressed with her knowledge and the way she explained everything, so I decided to keep my appointment. Today was my procedure at Silicon Valley Surgery Center, and I had such a great experience. The facility was clean, calm, and very nice. Every single person I interacted with was wonderful. From the front desk to Barbara, who helped review my paperwork everyone was kind and welcoming. My first nurse, Kay, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and professional. When she went on break, Nicole took over she was also amazing. I'm not a fan of needles at all, but she did my IV so gently and with so much care. Then Kat, the third nurse, took me to the procedure room she was kind, calm, and very professional. Dr. Michael Block, the anesthesiologist, was excellent. He actually texted me the night before to ask if I wanted to review everything ahead of time or on the day of the procedure, which I really appreciated. We exchanged a few messages, and then he spoke with me again before the procedure and explained everything clearly. He was confident, knowledgeable, and very reassuring. In the procedure room, I fell asleep within seconds and woke up quickly afterward feeling great. Within about 30 minutes, I felt completely fine. I was even able to take calls and respond to emails. And now, about Dr. Hobson ,she is truly a 10 out of 10. Honestly, the entire experience was 10 out of 10. From the office to the surgery center, every single nurse and staff member was exceptional. I'm a very detail-oriented and perfectionist person because of my job, so I don't say this lightly. Something I was so scared of and postponed for 5 years turned into such a smooth and positive experience. Thank you to everyone

I am a 78-year-old male, retired, with chronic daily (24/7) headaches (NDPH type)…read more The headache began at 10: 30 AM on Dec 5, 2006, along with a temporary left ear hearing loss and a roaring noise in my head. Left ear hearing returned to about 50% and the roaring sound went away by 5 PM of that day, but the headache has remained. Then, the headache pain levels was about a constant 5-6 (with nausea and dizziness) with night time peaks of 8 or 9. Before that date, I had tight muscles. Muscle tightness is due to 1) long-term statin and niacin use, 2) frozen left shoulder (1977 to present (now gone)), and 3) scar tissue from 3-Way by-pass surgery. But, I believe that the muscle tightness is mostly due to long term statin use (a statin side effect for about 20% of individuals taking statins). It has been determined that the muscle tightness is causing the headache. I've seen ENT MDs, Neurologists, and regular MDs and none of their meds have helped much, except for Epidrin and the muscle relaxant; Zanaflex. Tried marijuana, but it made my headache pain level worse. I've tried physical therapy, Trigger Point Massage, upper cervical Chiropractor, Sport Med. MD, Cranial Facial Pain Dentist, Myofascial release (John Barnes), Bowen Therapy, acupuncture (saw 6 acupuncturists), chiropractors (saw 5 chiropractors), and an Osteopath, who specialized in skeletal-muscular problems. When, the Osteopath left the area, he suggested that I try Cranial Sacral Therapy. Of all the therapies that I tried, Cranial Sacral Therapy treatments have given me the most relief from the chronic daily headache. Jane Colaciccio is able to detect inflammationed muscles, by feeling the heat emanating from the affected area. Something like a thermograph device. I know, its hard to believe, but she does have that ability. Note, prior to seeing Jane, if anybody told me that somebody had that ability, I would not have believed them. My headache levels are now about 1 to 2, and sometimes, the headache is even gone. And I no longer experience the nausea or dizziness. UPDATE: In August 2017, Jane was able to overall loosen the upper body facia, so that she was able to work on the exact shoulder blade muscles that were causing the headache. After a few more sessions, the headache was mostly gone. I do, on occasion, get a headache when I am under stress or I sleep in the wrong position. However, to make sure that the headache does not return, I return to Jane to make sure the muscles do not tighten up again. I have a daily stretching routine, that also helps in keeping the muscles relatively loose. So thanks to Jane, both the headache and dizziness are gone!
