So I don't have much experience here, but, the experience I do have is all positive…read more So backstory - my back is broken. No worries, just typical Army stuff. I was scheduled to have back surgery, but then Army stuff happened so it got postponed. Then, new MRIs and the Army doc was like DANG BRO! You need surgery bad. So it was scheduled, and then COVID hit; postponed. So then NEW Army doc months later was like SHEESH BRO - you need surgery. I'm over here rolling my eyes like duhhhh. However, he also said look man, you're broke. But you're 38. If I do this surgery now, there's only a 50% chance it'll work. And if you are in the 50% chance that it works, it's only going to work to bring you back to 80% functional. And, to top it off, if I do it, it'll cause the rest of my back (spine) to compensate and work harder, which will accelerate its degenerative process... meaning within about 10 years (still not even 50), I'd be a candidate for surgery AGAIN. So, because I'm just too young and there's too many risks, I opted out for now. However, it's a broken back and I have to feel better - after all, albeit in my 21st year, I'm still an active duty Soldier. So, the doc set me up with physical therapy to help (which it doesn't hurt but doesn't help)... and he referred me to this off post pain management clinic. The stuff here is lovely! Literally, al the ladies are lovely in appearance and behavior. Supper friendly and personable. The doc here is caring, attentive, and truly interested in helping me "feel" better, understanding I can't actually get better. He reviewed my MRIs, listened to everything i have to say about how I feel, and gave me some meds. The meds, didn't work. But instead of just shrugging like ohh well, he again met with me and came up with another more aggressive plan, with better meds that don't work, but do help. And furthermore, they are giving me injections, which are supposed to be great and last longer, and alleviate the making of pills I have to take which is destroying my liver lol. What else I liked about this place: before even being seen, they made me take a urinalysis (piss test). To some this might be annoying, but here's why it's done: this place is for pain. Often for pain they have to issue you controlled substances (narcotics). So they want to see what's in your system, so they can better understand if you're illegally using drugs and what kind. This way, they'll know if you might be here trying to get drugs for the wrong reasons. Or even understand what is in your system before they give you drugs that could hurt you because of what you're already on. Maybe all places do this? The Army doesn't, because we get a piss test every single month anyways... but I felt like the fact they do it here off base, shows responsibility. I liked it. It's weird I know, but it's a level of thoroughness that I appreciated

We have been taking a family member to ketamine treatments for about five years. We had to go to…read moredifferent cities because there was not one locally. When we heard there was one in our city, we were excited and proceeded to find out more. Unfortunately, we found this facility to be unprofessional from day one.  i emailed and called. The staff does not sign e-mails, only "Best regards, Donya Pain" as though no one takes responsibility for their words so I cannot say who I communicated with initially. I initially called the office to ask about costs and told them i would call back when our family member would be in town so we could go in for a tour and further inquiry. I then called the office about five weeks later to see if we could schedule the visit. They were not open during the working hours i had initially been given, so i emailed them. They then gave me different working hours in an email and approved of a date and time. I agreed in an email and let them know we scheduled 20 minutes for our out of town family member to visit. Their response was that the ketamine treatment took 1.5 hours. I was shocked that they were taking us sight unseen on a first visit for a ketamine treatment, and i asked if a manager could call me. Ashley called me, and i expressed my concern in going to a facility that let just anybody schedule a ketamine treatment.  she stated that was not the norm and that there was an initial consultation needed  That, in and of itself, was sketchy since they were apparently ready to schedule a treatment right off according to the email. She also gave me a third differing set of hours. I thought it was also sketchy that the hours changed three times in two months. I confirmed a Friday 4pm appointment via email, and with Ashley the OFFICE MANAGER in a call, yet when we arrived, they were closed. I emailed my disappointment and received an email stating we could arrange to meet the next day however we had plans that day. They apologized and stated they were busy that day and our appointment "slipped from our mind".  is the staff on ketamine? We realize that this treatment has its risks.  We only want to associate ourselves with reputable, professional businesses who have experience using this treatment and adhere to proper screening and monitoring and have protocols in place.  If they can't keep their business hours and appointments straight, I do not feel I can trust their staff with my family members' treatments.  We heard about this office after they had a conflict with the VA, and we were willing to give them a chance, but it appears there are red flags to be found all around this clinic.

They will overcharge you, make it impossible to get help, then tell you they don't have the power to correct their own mistakes. I have had three appointments with this group (at the Murchison location, for what it's worth) and ALL three were billed incorrectly, adding hundreds to my bill. I have been trying to get these charges adjusted since FEBRUARY and every time I call my doctor's office they say there is nothing they can do. Really? Nothing they can do to fix mistakes they made?? The first mistake was failure to consistently apply a discount. The second two mistakes were outright billed for things that never happened or more expensive versions of the care that was actually delivered. I ended up researching the correct codes and submitting them to billing because their own people were so incompetent. I've tried using the online bill pay portal to contact them because they promise a response in two business days. Never heard back from them! I am consistently directed to call the billing department at Lee Trevino who never ever answers, or to call an office in San Antonio who just directs me back to the practice. I've tried calling at different days and at different times. I drove to the office to speak to someone in person and was told I needed an appointment. How am I supposed to make an appointment if they don't answer phone or email? The receptionist wouldn't let me speak to the billing manager but let me pass on a sticky note full of my corrections. Only some of them were corrected and I haven't been able to speak to anyone since then. I am a self-pay patient, so maybe you get better treatment if you are insured because at least the insurance will fight for you. I ended up skipping the remaining care I needed because I couldn't afford to pay for any more of their made up charges.

Thank to to Dr. Ibrahim. Fir his professionalism, and taking time to explain my problem and virtually show me the an issue and schedule the procedure on my back. I was very hesitant at first especially, my friends were telling me your back might get worse. But after all I decided to move forward, in which I am glad I did it. He helped me in the way that I almost forget about my pain and I can tell you, for the first time I could sleep without any pain and waking me up without pain. I am very glad to go to Donya pain management center I am pleased that we have this doctor in our town.
