I had a car accident approximately two years ago and worked with a horrible law firm that I hired right after I was "bird dogged" which is just like ambulance chasing. Unlawful, but because the event had just happened I just accepted their services. They knew that two years on a case was the maximum time frame I could go on this claim even though I had referrals to two specialists that I was never able to see. The first an orthopedic surgeon who agreed that I required surgery on my right knee. I could never get "permission" to get this done, and according to the Injury Specialist this exacerbated my back issues and has now caused a left knee issue due to compensation of the skeletal and muscle structure. The second referral never happened. I finally made contact with this ambulance chasing lawyer's office and they informed me that Denise from this office called them telling them that I have not been compliant with their treatments. Not true at all. They were being scheduled so frequently I was having issues getting off work for them. Please remember that this accident happened approximately two years ago. Denise of this office supposedly followed up with referrals but I never received any correspondence to unanswered questions. I recently requested a call back from her but have yet to hear from her, this was just this Monday. She apparently contacted the "attorney" and told them to settle the case. Again, this all goes against what the MRI's show, that there is damage to my knee and back. Very disappointed as I'd originally given this office a very high review. Hindsight.

Fraud, neglect, abuse at Simes Chiropractic?…read more VA referred me after shoulder/neck injury related to injury from Afghanistan; I attended multiple appointments in which I was given the choice between a 5minute, impersonal, ineffective, adjustment, or the "complementary" massage that is actually treated as the primary service and is not what the VA pays for. You can tell this is the truth because Sime Chiropractic emphasizes time care slots scheduling for massages, but not for Chiropractic care... this results in comments from the staff like "if you want to make your chiropractic appointment the same day, you have to come in 30 minutes before your scheduled time". In addition to this, the Dr is negligent in admitting that he adjusted my shoulders, neck and back twice without looking at my X-Rays first (a heinous admission, considering the previously fractured vertebrae). They did not provide or receive consent to care forms for invasive procedures such as X-Rays (which they didn't use) or put any effort into protecting patient privacy throughout -- literally no doors are closed in the chiropractic portion of the clinic and I know way more about other patients than I ever wanted to. I attended multiple appointments which not only did nothing for my pain (for which I was referred) get resolved, but was made worse by the adjustments as Mr. Sime did not change treatment techniques based on outcomes. Then, when my frustration with the care was overloaded and I demanded they provide the chiropractic care that the VA paid for, they DROPPED ME as a patient (over voicemail, the night prior to my next appointment) , rather than address their malfeasance. I say "rather than" because I talked to their VA coordinator, Steve, and their receptionist who both cared more about talking down to me and ignoring my observations rather than addressing them. After all of this, I was chatting with a family member who went to Simes 10 years ago and they said to me this exactly why they left. My family member then called this place the "Jiffy Lube of Chiropractic care"... which is inaccurate, because Jiffy Lube usually provides the service you pay for. I will gladly defend every statement I have made here. Some people may eventually get good care here, but it seems that it is a system that is intentionally inefficient and neglects patient care in order to prolong payments for service. They could prove me wrong by 1) giving patients care plans that outline goals for improvements and timeframes those should occur--showing that the Drs hold themselves accountable 2) Building a strict HIPPA-aware culture 3) enable a system that ensures patients aren't forced to choose between an important physical therapy/massage support and their adjustment 4) actually use the pain and discomfort scales to rate prior treatment EFFECTIVENESS Because of the apparent long-term nature of these problems along with their consistently escalating hostile reaction to me stating these observations, I have no faith in Simes Chiropractic of ever addressing these issues. I suggest finding a different chiropractic practice that emphasize quality of patient care. Just today, I was seen by a different Chiropractor on my own money ; the other Chiropractor, in one session, was ablate identify that my shoulder blade, rib, and shoulder were all subbloxed, and nearly fixed it ALL.... THAT Dr., NOT Dr. Sime, FINALLY began addressing my injuries. The proof is in the outcomes, and I don't trust Sime Chiropractic Clinic for good outcomes at all.

The receptionist/EMG administer/masseuse was nice enough. That is the good. The bad. The doctor talks like a used car salesman which was definitely off putting. Complete with attempted name dropping and "military experience". I had never heard of an EMG and was administered one to start the visit. I was then shown my results with no context provided to what they are showing you. After the visit I googled EMG for chiropractors and the research and numerous papers speaks for itself. It is commonly used by chiropractors to upscale clients. There is no medical proof that it shows anything other than muscle use. The receptionist administered the EMG, even if properly done it is supposed to be administered by a doctor that has received hundreds of hours of training. Not a 20 year old receptionist. The next issue was the doctor attempting to adjust my back, no warm up, no pre massage, no electric stimulation to relax muscles, just straight torque. Of course nothing adjusted as the muscles were too clenched to allow it. Then I was given a basic training style lesson in how to stand up and walk, complete with yelling at you for looking down to make sure you don't trip over all the wires and cords around the office. AFTER the attempted adjustment I was given a massage. The last issue was the up sale to buy their ointment. $10 for a small container of icy hot. I was told a small quarter size amount should be used, right after I was just hosed down with the stuff during the massage. At the end, nothing was done for my back, I left in as much pain and limited mobility as I arrived. I was told to get an MRI through the army. Overall, a terrible experience. $160 for a whole lot of nothing but fast talk. After seeing the army doctors I was given an actual diagnosis, given ACTUAL treatment from ACTUAL doctors and have made good progress to recovery. This place is a sham. I have had really good success with many chiropractors around the world. Military and civilian. This one is a complete sham. Avoid it at all costs.

Both sounded scary (I did take pain meds for awhile because initially the pain was at times fairly extreme). So I asked him about Chiropractic. I researched on-line and Dr. Sara Guido's reviews were all excellent, so there I went. And I am SO glad I did. After just one month of treatment, the pain has subsided. I have much more mobility in my neck due mostly to the neck stretching exercises she's given me. She uses a pressure release device on my neck and shoulders and it's made a huge difference regarding the tension and tightness I was experiencing in those areas. I cannot give Dr. Guido a higher rating. She's got me going three days per week and I am told I will continue on that schedule until she feels we can draw back from that a bit.
