Here comes the bride and the wedding cake! Janet's delivered a delicious, beautiful cake (see pic!) and I'm here to share the details! We chose a white cake with raspberry filling and almond icing. Our guests left no crumbs - it was delicious and devoured! When it came to design, I asked for swirls and pink flowers (breast cancer survivor here!). The size you see fed 50. Well, everyone I come across would say this is the best bakery in town. I had my retirement cake ordered there not because of that but was told that work has direct billing so it is easier for the secretary to do her job. I just go with the flow. Not sure if the order was not correct or they didn't do what I wanted to order. I wanted whipped cream with chocolate mousse filling. To my disappointment, no filling in the cake. Also the decoration of the cake looks more like homemade than a professional. We ended up eating not even a quarter of the cake! The whipped cream was very sweet and very skimpy. Sometimes I'm a procrastinator. It was the day before and I realized I hadn't yet ordered a cake to celebrate my friend's semester early college graduation. #FriendFail Yet Janet's came to the rescue! I showed them a photo from Pinterest for a small sheet cake that I wanted and they did it perfectly. The colors, the details, the spelling... and the flavor was awesome. I ordered a custom cake over the phone for a wedding rehearsal. It was an odd request to build a Goku Black Dragon Ball Z cake. I also wanted it delivered to the venu as we are from out-of-town. It was delivered as promised but we had no idea what it looked like until the dinner and just had faith it would be great. We were not disappointed!! The frosting detail was amazing and we were all impressed with the artists steady hand! The cake was moist and delicious and the groom cut the cake in a way to preserve part of the character to enjoy later. ... (he just couldn't cut up the head/face part!). There's a variety of icing and cake flavors. The icing is really rich and the cake is always moist and flavorful. The carrot cake is one of the best I've ever had. Janet's can make almost any 2D design on a cake. As far as I know, they don't do a lot of fondant work, so if you're looking for something super fancy, you'll have to go somewhere else. Not only are their made-to-order cakes fantastic, but you can actually go in and buy squares of cake for about $2 a pop. They're frosted on all sides, and I just- I can't. I rushed into Janet's on a lunch break one or two weeks before his party with no theme in mind, no opinion on flavor and said "help!" I was expecting them to tell me I was way too late to order and a terrible person for not even thinking about their kid's first birthday cake. But the staff was oh so helpful and when they asked how I wanted it decorated I said " I don't know-monsters?" They told me they did a cute monster cake and boy were they right! I can not believe how terrible customer service we received from Janets Cake! We had to cancel our wedding in Illinois due to COVID. We had already put down a deposit to save our date. I live in Colorado and my parents live in Arizona. They will not refund our deposit and will only offer a wedding cake for the same price as the deposit!? Doesn't make any sense due to the fact that we live across the country. You'd think they would be more understanding and have better service than they do. This is the ONLY business that didn't return some or all of the deposit. It's extremely sad. They did not give us any services and practically pocketed our money! Terrible! My mother purchased a cake for a baptism. She was looking for something quite special. The cakes flavor was fine and the cake was not dry. The frosting flavor was fine too. The issue with the cake was the decorating. Although what was done was fine looking it was a bit plain. Also my mother requested red roses and they had put yellow roses on the cake instead. The ticket did not indicate color, but rather there was a request for rose buds. The person who took the order should have been more through with the order. Given decorating of cake was plain and not quite what was requested. We were disappointed. Again flavor of cake and frosting was fine. Nothing spectacular. In the end guests thought the cake was made by my mother or I, because the decorating was minimal. It almost looked like the decorator never finished the cake. read more

Super disappointed in my experience this morning. I was the first customer, they had nothing out, and they seemed put out to help me. I got 2 dozen sugar cookies and when they brought them to the counter they were St. Patty's Day cookies. I asked if they were fresh since that was almost a week ago and they said they rolled too many. After spending over $60 (I bought a couple other things too), I brought them to my meeting. One person said they were not fresh, and another said they were cold from the freezer and stale. I have Celiac and can't eat them. I brought them for my team. Super disappointed, first with the way I was treated and second by the quality. I am a huge supporter of small business and have gone to Janets for years, but I will not be back. read more

Everything I have ever purchased from Janets has been awesome. But recently I had purchased a larger cake for my son's baptism. I ordered a half white half chocolate cake. I had to order a larger size than I initially wanted to get the two flavors. When I was getting ready to serve the cake to our guests I explained that I had two flavors. Once I cut into the cake, I was dissapointed to see I didn't get the flavors I requested. I called Janet's and explained my dissapointment. The very nice lady that answered the phone asked what they could do for me. I simply told them that I wanted the difference between the cake I had originally wanted and the larger cake (that I ordered to get the two flavors) she said, ok no problem. We just had our baby shower cake made from Janets and to our surprise it did not turn out good at all. The design shown to the lady in Janets was completely different from the final product that we got. That being said, this is the best cake I've ever had, and I know my cake. My husband and I ordered our wedding cake from Janets after trying all of the other places in town. It was reasonably priced, the samples were amazing, our cake looked beautiful the day of the wedding, and they did a great job decorating the cake table for us. I never got more than the bite from cutting the cake, which I don't really remember, but everyone said it was great. However, that was over a year ago. I had heard of people having problems with their cakes on their first anniversary, but when we thawed it out, it was perfect. The best, IMO, is the white almond frosting (swoon). They have little mini cakes every day that you can try to see what your favorite flavor is. Back before they moved to the present location I had NEVER tasted anything bad from them. In fact they did our wedding cake 12 years ago! Back then they were the best cakes for miles around, but For the last couple years they seem to be going downhill on the taste of their cakes. Now with less flavor and more dryness. Cakes from Sam's Club are better now. I haven't given up on them yet, I really hope that they can get back to the way they were before the previous owner passed.
