They pushed the vaccines of us and didn't pre-care for our one that is sensitive. She had a severe reaction to the vaccine and has been pooping/puking up straight blood for hours. We took her to the hospital and they are keeping her overnight. The vets at the hospital said the vaccines are unnecessary for these 2 dogs because they don't go to dog daycare, but the Strawberry Hill animal hospital continues to push them. This place is a money grab and not only did we pay $600 for shots they didn't need, we now have to pay $2,000- 3,000 for an overnight visit. Never going to this place again, highway robbery and we might lose part of our family tonight.

The lady I spoke to in reception told me that he was no longer involved with the practice and she could not help me at all with getting in contact with him. And oddly, she repeated it several times in a weird and gleeful way. I mentioned that it was regard to an eye emergency and she could not care less, and then disconnected my call. Draw your own conclusions from that interaction, but would you really want to try to get help from these people during an emergency? I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. PS- I called a local veterinarian in the area and was able to get the contact information for Dr. Wilcox immediately. And they could not have been nicer about it!

I've seen a shift in the way the place is staffed - the new staff seemed to care less and less. I've ignored signs (being that I myself work at an animal hospital - the burnout is real) but the fact that clients pay you to take care of their fur babies is a service you commit to provide. My boarding experience earlier this year- I noted that medication for my sick asthmatic cat was not given by the staff due to the fact that he "looked stressed". It would have been okay since they take your phone number in case of an emergency and promise to call if anything comes up. Instead I took him home, coughing and wheezing after 4-5 days away to look at the inhaler count to see it hadn't moved. I wasn't notified at pickup and had to call them to find out why. The funny thing is all the times we have used them to board, he could come back sick and we always used to think it was a change of environment. When I complained Jessica (management) was really great and compassionate and apologized essentially for the mishap and informed me that they will have protocols in place to tell owners when things like this happen. That's great, right? Except that it shouldn't take a mistake to have that plan in place. That should be the FIRST thing you do. I ended up having him admitted in another facility for 3+ days in Emergency until he was back to normal. All in all, it's a clean facility with only cats which is a major plus. However, I don't think we will be returning anymore. For those of you who board your pets, make sure that meds are being done when they are supposed to be done whether it be marking the bottle or noting the counts.

This was incredibly stressful for me and for him, as you could imagine. After 2 different vets told me I should consider euthanizing him since they believed he had a poor chance of recovering mobility, I took him to Dr. Alvarez, who did not agree with the conclusion that euthanasia was the right thing to do, which was a relief to me. She was offering hope when no one else was. After being treated by Dr. Alvarez in her facility for 5 days, Zeus WALKED out with me to go home. Now, after 7 weeks of Dr. Alvarez's exacting care instructions and regimen of medications and supplements--not to mention her positive attitude, Zeus is doing wonderfully, is "himself," strong, and happy, and WALKING. When walking him outside, I use a special harness that Dr. Alvarez recommended, to hold his back end steady in case he should become wobbly, but in the house he's walking on his own, and his walking gets better every week. Though his rehabilitation will continue for a number of weeks if not months, without Dr. Alvarez's care and concern, my sweet Zeus may have met another fate, which would have devastated me.
