Said it was fine and didn't even need cleaning! we have used it twice since Dec 2025. We had another inspection done today in the hopes of having a gas insert installed. Technician advised us NOT to use fireplace. Chimney does not pass code. Leaks in chimney. Flu is questionable when closed. So, very disappointed and would like an explanation for the cost I was charged for an inadequate inspection.

The second picture is the resolution to my complaints of the first job. When I shared my concerns with the quality of both jobs and how aesthetically unpleasing it is, I was told they "have completed the work as agreed upon, and unfortunately, there is nothing more we can do to change the appearance of the mortar." A second opinion from a trustworthy local business differed and also led to other concerns with the work done by Beck's. If the work was much neater, the color difference would not be nearly as noticeable. It was also discovered that Beck's smeared mortar on the bricks, perhaps to "repair" them near the top of the chimney. It's really too bad that this is the quality of work this business stands by and deems as acceptable.
