Amazing shrimp/white sauce! Some of the best I've had around here.
    Kong L.

For express hibachi -- not bad at all! I ordered the ribeye but the person at the register heard me wrong and rung me up for a hibachi steak instead which I didn't mind or complain about. My food came out extra quick. It looks like everything is pre-cooked and sits on a hot bar ready to be served. I understand why they call it "express" now. The steak was thinly cut, a tougher cut of beef but edible. The rice was actually good. The MVP had to be the white/shrimp sauce. That had to be one of the best I've had in the area. It was thick and actually had the classic flavor that I'm used to. Overall, great option if you need to grab something quick and on the go.

I attempted lunch and left a lot of it. Soup watery and skimpy.

    - You Get What You Pay For - Shrimp Tempura appetizer, and Miso. Shrimp disappointing taste, texture. Stale cooking oil. Emergency potty calls all night. Miso. Salty warm water w/3 tiny square cabbage scrap floaters. Attempted but 2 spoonfuls.

    Salmon Hibachi $18.26

Hibachi Salmon $18.26 just a joke for tiny little pieces of salmon, little pieces of vegetables including better skin of zucchini, onion and 3 small pieces of broccoli. Way more differentthat Chica hibachi. I am not happy

Black hair in my food! I'm blonde for reference...
    Sarah R.

Found a gross hair in my food! I would've called to let them know but last time I called them because they messed up my order (they forgot an entire entree), they harassed me with questions because they didn't believe that THEY messed up. So now it's not even worth it.

Not good. Food cane out suspiciously fast as well. The yum yum sauce was watered down, the crab rangoons overpriced (two mini eggrolls for $3.50), and the sparse vegetables present in the hibachi were hard. I was literally struggling to just get the broccoli on my fork. And to top it off, there was hair in my food. Not coming back. Go to Hibachi & Company on Franklin instead.

Not so good. Very few vegetables and the ginger sauce was bland and in these weird packets. Sad but should've listened to the other reviews

They have a decent selection of appetizers, nigiri, specialty rolls, and other items, so it's fun being able to try a little bit of everything instead of committing to just a few rolls. The sushi is good for an all you can eat restaurant. I've definitely had better quality sushi elsewhere, but considering how much food you get, I really can't complain. One thing I'd recommend is ordering everything you think you'll want in your first round. There's a 90-minute time limit, and once your initial order comes out, the server doesn't check back very often. They do charge $1 for every leftover piece, but if you're with a group, it's usually not hard to finish everything. If you're just looking to satisfy a sushi craving without breaking the bank, Mr. Tokyo is definitely worth checking out!

My first two rolls took a while to come out, but I think that was because one of the rolls I ordered was fried. My last two rolls came out much quicker and I ordered those one at a time. AYCE dinner was $26.99, and I felt like I got my moneys worth with 26 pieces of sushi (10 of those pieces were HUGE pieces of sushi too). Appa Roll (5): This roll was pretty, green, and tasty! I loved the shrimp tempura and avocado combination. Even though this was a 5 piece roll, the pieces were big, so it was just as filling as the standard 8 piece. TNT Roll (5): I enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't get this one again because it is fried and has cream cheese (too filling when you are trying to do AYCE). I really liked the mango in the roll, so I want to try their other rolls with mango! The pieces were huge, this roll was more filling than the standard 8 piece. Chapel Hill Roll (8): My favorite roll of the night, I loved the different fish on top and the avocado was delicious. Salmon Lover Roll (8): If you like salmon and avocado, this roll is for you! A lot of other salmon forward rolls have cream cheese, so I loved that this one had avocado instead. Delicious! I look forward to coming back with a friend or my husband so we can share rolls and try even more varieties!

Sushi was really great, fresh and delicious. The chicken teriyaki was cooked too perfection We could watch the chef make the sushi right across from our table. Inside there was plenty of seating.

The Food We ordered the Shrimp Katsu ($16) with rice and the Beef Teriyaki ($18), since they were out of the Salmon Teriyaki. A major red flag was hearing a series of loud microwave beeps immediately after placing our order. The food came out after 10-15 minutes. The Positive: Both of our meals came with excellent rice that was fluffy and fragrant, and a small side salad with a standard ginger dressing. The Disappointment: My Shrimp Katsu was highly disappointing. It tasted nothing like shrimp and resembled processed meat, similar to imitation crab, but shaped like mozzarella sticks drizzled with sweet mayo. The texture and flavor were clearly not fresh shrimp. My wife's Beef Teriyaki was also underwhelming. The beef was chewy and served over soggy lettuce, with a very basic, overly sweet teriyaki glaze. The Service The lone waitress was polite but demonstrated poor customer service skills. The most jarring part of the meal was when she began to hover near our table while we were eating, making us feel rushed. At 8:20 PM, she told us they were closing at 8:30 PM, pressuring us to finish quickly. Their Google listing clearly states a 9:00 PM closing time. As someone who tries to support local Asian cuisine, I was genuinely disappointed by both the low quality of the food and the pushy, rushed service. We will not be returning. Too expensive for low quality food.

When you arrive parking can be a bit tricky in this area as you'll need to find parking on the street or in a nearby parking lot. When you arrive the entrance can be a bit hard to find as it's tucked away down a cobblestone road. Look for the "m" logo outside of the door of the restaurant. You'll check in with the host when you arrive, and for this trip we opted to sit at the bar. When you walk into M sushi you'll feel like you've stepped into an underground, relaxed hangout for sushi. To start I ordered the Mizuwari (Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky, elderfower liqueur, and tonic) which was perfectly balanced and a great way to start the meal. Following that the omakase service started with miso soup which was hot and fresh, followed by the different pieces of sushi. There was a variety from blue fin tuna, to sea bream, to Norwegian Sea trout. My favorite was a tie between the seared salmon belly and toro blue fin. We also ordered a bottle of Born Gold Junmai Daliginjo (Rich, smooth, fruit and grain forward) which paired excellently with the meal. This was a fun experience as it was my first time trying Omakase and looking forward to my next trip to M Sushi.

We started off with their sodas made in-house, one being green apple and the other being grapefruit. They were okay. The grapefruit one kind of tasted like apple cider vinegar. We tried them because a soda was $6 and there were no free refills. I find that a strange decision but this could be personal preference. We got a mixture of the small plates and rolls including the nigiri (delightful!), tuna crispy rice (my 2nd favorite), dumplings, bao bun (one cut in half), the rainbow roll, and the unagi roll. While I thought the nigiri and tuna crispy rice were amazing - both tasted fresh - overall, the food was just fine. I think our experience could just be based on pure preference. I found the sushi to be good but not the best I have ever had as some other Yelpers have experienced.
