Came here on Valentines day to see the play "Slave Letters: The Lives of Slaves in Their Own Words"…read more If you haven't checked out this performance, you ought to check it out! The performance by the cast is worthy of a Tony award! This review is more about the Stone Cottage Theater which is part of the Addison Conference and Theater Center. It is a small building that is one of Addison's historic structures that has been renovated and I believe can hold up-to 55 people. The check-in lady was really friendly and offered us free chocolate and roses for valentines. You can also buy snacks and drinks at the check-in desk before the show or during intermission. The Good: ------------- Very intimate setting, small crowd, lighting effects are great for a small theater production. There is a parking lot close by if you get early. You can also park by the street nearby if the main parking lot is full. Can do Better: ------------------- The plastic cushion-less seats are a back breaker for those long theatrical performances. My butt and back were hurting after being seated for almost 2 hours watching the above reference play. They may need to get cushioned seats! Also, the signage pointing to this small cottage may need to be a little bigger. Wife and I were not sure where the Stone Cottage building was since there are two theaters in the same location. There is small sign by a rock, but this can be overlooked.

I really like the intimate setting where you can almost touch the performers! Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are available for whatever price you are willing to donate. Tonight we saw A Bur-Less-Q Nutcracker. It was hilarious! The jokes are always funny and a bit racy. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a pickle-on-a-stick (they ran out before they got to me). This spot is definitely worth coming to over and over!

I was able to do most tricks on first time, but not all. The staff are super nice and really flexible. It was raining like crazy outside when I went, and they were no biggy about people showing up late. The instructor managed the room well giving both 1:1 and full-group help time. You've got to try aerial silks and this is the place to do it in Dallas!

We had to eventually change the timing and then change it back again, but LSC never seemed frustrated and was very understanding. Sara, the aerialist, arrived on time and blew us away. The set up was quick and easy (total professionals) and she had tons of energy and enthusiasm. She was incredibly talented - spinning and twirling on rope and making it look easy. She wore a very cool leotard/costume that added to the experience. If you're looking for a unique or fun twist on any event - hiring LSC is the way to go. I cannot wait to work with them again!

I visited Haas Moto Museum with my family last weekend, when I was in Dallas for a few days. It was…read morea surprise hit with all of us. There were six of us, and I wouldn't describe any of us as motorcycle people. I decided we should visit the museum mostly due to its location (by where we had brunch) and because I always want to visit a place I haven't been before when I visit home (since I've been to most of the places on the beaten path, we now often get surprised by gems in the city that are off the beaten path). But wow. We were really blown away. So what is it? The Haas Moto Museum is a motorcycle museum, and their museum's about page sums it up well: "The Haas Moto Museum was founded by the late Bobby Haas and his partner, Stacey Mayfield, with a singular vision: to elevate motorcycles beyond mere machines, showcasing them as rolling works of art. Bobby's creativity, passion and fearless curiosity shaped every corner of the museum, establishing it as one of the most unique motorcycle museums in the world." I may not know much about motorcycles, but I had a great time wandering through the museum. Some of the custom motorcycles were incredible. And the historical motorcycles (all labeled with their manufacturer, year, and additional information)? I loved walking chronologically through them. The staff also made our visit even more wonderful. The Facilities Manager Brent and the Museum Engineer Chris were amazing; between the two of them, they gave us a great explanation of the museum and its collection, walked around with us a bit and pointed out some special pieces/motorcycles, and showed us around the shop where they work on custom motorcycles. The facility is also great - down to the little shop and weirdly great bathrooms they have in the building. They even have an area where you can enjoy a complimentary K-cup coffee or tea while watching a document about Bobby Haas. If you love motorcycles, I can't recommend Haas Moto Museum enough. But the surprise of our visit was that I also recommend it to people who don't care much for or about motorcycles at all. The motorcycles are beautiful - even to an uneducated motorcycle novice like me. We spent way more time here than we had expected to - because we were enjoying ourselves so much. It was one of the best surprises of my visit home. Check it out!

I work in the area and saw a BUNCH of men looking so handsome in their parking lot. Apparently they were doing some kind of dapper gentleman's ride? There were ALL kinds of bikes for various time eras. It was lame that I had to work-- I was going to ask someone if there was room for one more! I called them straight away to ask what was going on and Brent told me what it was all about. I came in on my lunch break with a coworker to see inside, but, unfortunately, the event was over! Fast forward to a couple weeks later for Father's Day, I came with my mom and my brother. It was an emotional day as my Dad passed away on my birthday in 2021. He LOVED motorcycles so much and he taught my brothers and I how to ride. My Grandad owned a Harley Shop in Michigan before AMF bought it out in the 70's. Motorcycles have always been a part of my life. Now that he's gone, and I don't have my own bike, I really miss hearing that Harley rumble and being around bikes in general. When I came here on Fathers Day with my mom and brother, I got to see the whole motorcycle history. My dad would have loved this place from ALL the old school and classic bikes, to the concept bikes and the art on the wall. I was walking around with his favorite old tatty grey sweater with me and it was like catharsis. I know the mechanic shop is probably off limits to museum goers, but I just know he would have found a way to take a tour of that, too.
