Jason was a wonderful server. Very professional and clean. The entire staff was wearing face mask appropriately! My wife had the salmon bento box and loved the salmon and rice. The tempora veggies were only sliced and a little large to eat so she didn't enjoy them as much but they were cooked perfectly. I had the Diablo roll which was recommend from other reviews. It was amazing! I also had yellow fin and tuna nigiri that did not disappoint one bit. The highlight of the meal was the special otoro a fatty blue fin nigiri that still has my taste buds dancing! While in town and on the hunt for happy hour, a group of u came across this place. Well put together, however, seemed a little pricey for our liking as we approached. We were not wrong. First of all, the lady set down so many menus we didn't know what was what. She agreed there were a lot, and tried to explain each one. At least let me order a drink. We were recommended the rose sangria. Send it back! It was not pleasing to the taste buds at all. We got the red sangria, and it was better, but definitely had better. We figured out the menu and ordered some rolls. I had California Roll and Japango roll, with the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer, which were amazingly delicious. The rolls were also very tasty and fresh. The Japango Roll had a little kick to it, which I enjoyed. The ladies tried a roll and agreed it tasted really good. The waitress was very kind - helping us with the load of menus and even with us sending our drinks back. I can't say I will be back here, but it served it's purpose while I was there. read more

If you're a knowledgeable saki drinker, that's another plus though the beer list and mixed drinks are also first class. This little sushi joint is just lovely. With a great location in the middle of Downtown Boulder on Pearl St., this classy place makes it easy to enjoy some sushi between the hustle and bustle of shopping. It has an amazing bar that will sit lots of people, so it is the perfect place for a solo diner to grab a sushi roll during happy hour and sip on some wine. The lighting is wonderful and it has a calming presence inside. The best part is the floor to ceiling tank with all of the jelly fish.I have only been here for lunch but I would imagine dinner to be a mesmerizing and relaxing experience. My coworkers and I ordered up a bunch of different rolls and I also got the lunch sashimi plate. Everything was standard sushi pricing and of course delicious. This place tastes authentic and doesn't over do it when it comes to deep frying or adding all the extra sauces. They stay true to the fresh fish they serve. And if you have good fish you don't need all of the crap on top to drown out the natural yummy taste! The sashimi was super fresh and enjoyable. There was one random fish on there that was super fishy and I didn't care for, but I will just sub that one out next time. The staff was friendly and efficient. This place is fun and right on pearl street. It has a great indoor outdoor vibe and the staff was extremely nice. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and it was not overly busy. However, it did take quite a long time to get our food. We ordered sushi (lots as you can see) and the white tuna sashimi was my favorite. It melts like butter in your mouth. Fantastic! Nathan was our server and he did a great job of pointing out his favorites ( a few of which I think we ordered). He was very nice and funny. We spent a good 2-2.5 hours there and he never made us feel rushed. I believe we ordered the Hawaiian roll,the Chicago and I can't remember what else. The Hawaiian does come with large chunks of raw fish on top which was a little much for me but overall it was still delicious. Wow! I had such a great experience with my wife that I had to write a follow-up to review. The food was excellent as always. We had a sushi night complete with the rainbow, diablo, salmon, and shrimp tempura rolls, which I highly recommend. The fish was fresh and the cocktail was excellent to a level that I've seen in some of the best cocktail bars in NY. If you get a chance and you like bourbon order the glassy knoll. What really made the night great was the service. This was a special date night for my wife and I and we were treated like royalty from the get go. The manager Kelly was extremely professional, knowledgeable about the restaurant, and very charming. She initially greeted us and made sure we were seated quickly. Our server Holly was on point as well. Her knowledge of the menu was solid and she made sure our table was stocked while checking in enough to make sure we were doing alright. The staff is always kind and fun to interact with, the environment is decorated in great ways especially with the jelly fish tank, in the summer you can sit outside on pearl in a roped off area. Super Sushi ALRIGHT, I must admit that I haven't had descent sushi for a while now but Japango has some awesome potential. I actually enjoyed my visit here much more then my visit to Hapa, so take that however you'd like. It was an early lunch for me and the fam and we were literally the second customers through the door. They apparently don't get very busy for lunch on a Saturday. We were there for almost an hour and a half and not too many other tables occupied their dining room area during our stay. Anyway, our server was a cutie and he was real nice. He offered suggestions and had an upbeat attitude. The food was actually tasty. Here's what we ordered: salmon sashimi, Montana Roll, El Corazon, Cali Rolls, & Udon noodles. We also took it all down with some unfiltered cold sake. The kids seemed to love the noodles and Cali rolls, easy-peasy! As for the other food items, they were fresh and really delish. The Montana Roll had seared beef on top which was great with lemon & sriracha (then again everything is great with a little zest & heat). I literally fell in love with the El Corazon. It was topped with everything I love; green onions, avocados, & slices of Serrano. It also had eel sauce and smelt eggs which I don't mind either. Personally, I would have wanted more pepper slices but its all good. The tempura rice in the shape of a circle/heart was brilliant and the spicy tuna was minimal but did the job. All-in-all, I would order the El Corazon again with a few added requests. My experience was nice and the food fit the bill. The only complaint would be the lack of a "baby changing station" in the restroom. Not an easy task to do, if you catch my drift. Ended up here by accident and boy am I glad I did. When you walk in, the place has great energy. It is perfect for a date night or a start to a night out. Japango has a great bar and lounge area as well as the dining room. You can tell the bar really makes an effort with their cocktails. Next time I come in I am going to try some of their offerings of Japanese whiskey. Sat at the bar and ordered some starters. Chose the Miso Black Cod and it reminded me of Nobu's famous dish. Japango has a fun atmosphere and great sushi rolls, but getting a table was a struggle and the bill knocked me out of my chair. The Whole Story (brief summary at the bottom if you don't like reading): Japango was the location of choice for 2 friends' celebratory birthday dinner. Expecting a large party, one member of the group called to make reservations--she was told they, "do not take reservations." Day of arrives. We decide it's a good idea to call and check how long the wait is. The host tells us if we want to get in at all, "[we] need to have a reservation." I'm getting mixed signals. She says the earliest reservation they have is 8:30PM. The group is consulted to confirm and we call back. A different host now tells us the earliest reservation is 8:00 so we book it. Around the same time, another member of our party (who is out of the loop at this point) calls to make a reservation--she is told the earliest available is 7:30PM in the lounge; she books it. Our group (of 12) shows up around 7:20PM for our 7:30PM reservation. We are now told that our reservation is for 7:45PM. By this point I'm wondering if I've somehow become lost in a time-space continuum where the laws of time no longer apply. The 12 of us (plus another group of 4) are standing in the *tiny* waiting area (it's more of a walkway, really). They tell us the lounge is being cleared and will be ready shortly. 10 minutes pass before anyone clears the table. Once the table is cleared, another 10 minutes passes before the hostess actually takes us over. Normally I wouldn't complain about this... but there is literally no waiting area and we were crammed uncomfortably close to a table of other patrons while our table sat vacant mere feet away. The image of a clown-car comes to mind. Once we finally reached our table, I was able to fully admire the restaurant. It's quite beautiful inside. Evidently it was recently remodeled and they did a FANTASTIC job. The atmosphere is top-notch. Our waitress (who was awesome) explained how the "all-you-can-eat sushi" works. I was a little disappointed. There is a (very small) menu of rolls, nigiri, and appetizers from which you can order. Most of the servings are smaller than normal. You cannot share w/anyone who is not participating in the $35 special. Any rolls you don't eat cost you an additional 50¢/roll. We looked over the menu and decided on 2 appetizers, 7 rolls, and 2 nigiri. Most of them included run-of-the-mill fish like salmon, tuna, shrimp, and crab. Our selection was: - Edamame - Vegetable Tempura - Bouder Roll - Chicago Roll - Washing D.C. (Spider) Roll - Hawaiian (Rainbow) Roll - Japango Roll - Philadelphia Roll - Naninay Roll - Kunsei Nigiri - Tako Nigiri The Edamame was fantastic, but the vegetable tempura left a lot to be desired. Both portions were very small-- if you're sharing w/3+ people, order 2. The rolls were all quite good. The fish was fresh and seemed high-quality. Some rolls were not rolled well and fell apart, though. The favorite of our group was the Naninay. It was by far the best and the only one we ordered another round of. I also enjoyed Japango's version of the Philadelphia Roll--it had an excellent flavor. Overall the food was good and the "all-you-can-eat" experience was fun, but don't trick yourself into believing this is a good deal. The bill for the 3 of us (who shared the above rolls) was near $140 w/tip without any drinks. That's an expensive dinner by any standard. My take-aways: Make a reservation & arrive exactly at the time of your reservation (there's nowhere to wait). Don't over-order or you will be charged extra; order in waves if you want more food. Don't expect a cheap dinner; the "all-you-can-eat" is about the experience, not the deal. The rolls are good, but nothing too special. The service and the atmosphere are trendy and fun. read more

As well as $2.25 hand rolls, shrimp sushi and california rolls. As with any good sushi bar make sure to ask what their specials are and what fish they've gotten in fresh each day. Second Time.. 1\19\08- Went back to try their all you can eat on tuesday. It was amazing. For $28 you get everything. appetizers, entrees, soups, salads.. and of course, sushi. It is an amazing deal. And if you get there before 630 then you also get drinks at happy hour prices. It fills up very quick so id recommend getting there at 5, or waiting until later at night. Appetizers come out much quicker than the sushi so make sure to get a bunch while you're waiting. beef tataki was extremely good. as was the hamachi kama, grilled squid, nuta and rare tuna steak. A lot of sushi place is kind of taste the same. This place you can totally taste how fresh the fish is. It's been in business for like 25 years. There is a reason for that. They have outdoor seating in the front and in the back. The inside is wakey with leather couches totally cool vibe. They have your expensive exotic rolls. But you can mix it up with spicy tuna California etc. and it's competitive on price. Highly recommended read more
