I have reviewed this restaurant before and it got 5 stars. When it was owned by Jesus D'Silva it was phenomenal. We have gone here since 2020 and it was always great but today for lunch was extremely disappointing. We had rolls that were not presented well at all, looking like a pile of slop on the plate. I don't think I saw a single piece of actual fish, just diced up paste. The rice did not hold together well and it was impossible to pick up the pieces without them falling completely apart. We chalked it up to "lunch rolls" made fast and maybe not the chef's best effort so we ordered a speciality roll, the "snow on the mountain" Normally this is a really good looking tasty roll, but not this time. The pieces came unseparated, like a single block, and the garnishes (toasted coconut in this case) looked dumped on and smashed into the surface. Not appetizing in the least. Overall, I was very disappointed especially since I have been eating here for over 6 year. Probably won't go back. I hate it when a really good restaurant goes down the drain. read more

Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck in my search for good Asian cuisine, with the exception of a Thai place in Broomfield. Misaki's was no exception to the disappointing meals that I've had in this area. From the difficult to read restaurant signage to the mediocre food and odd atmosphere, my experience was worth 1.5 stars--I'll round it up since the miso soup was decent enough. I ordered one of the lunch specials, while my dining companions got the shrimp and vegetable tempura and the lunch bento box. We also tried their pork belly buns, which we could've passed on. I took one bite and had to force myself to just chew and swallow...my taste buds and stomach were not in agreement with that decision though. It was by far the worst pork belly bun I've ever had. The miso soup that came with my meal was good, but it could've used more flavor in my opinion. All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't get sick from the raw sushi--I'll be honest, I was confused why one of my salmon nigiri's was torched when it wasn't supposed to be, so that made me wonder if something was wrong with that piece. I even did a sniff test, so to say that I wasn't at least a tad bit suspicious would be a lie. My dining companions and I all agreed that we would never come back or recommend this place. As soon as we left, we ended up getting food at Costco after running some errands. If that doesn't tell you anything about the food here, I don't know what will. I honestly don't understand how some places get such good reviews when the food is mediocre or subpar. Disappointing. read more

Update: Was in the area so decided to give them another try. It was just ok. We ordered gyoza, calamari, egg rolls, shrimp and vegetable tempura, kaibashira, California roll, and Meji maguro roll. Gyoza was still a little cold in the middle but tasted fine. The calamari was a little doughy. The egg rolls were good. Tempura was pretty good. Batter was a little heavy and oily but was at least crispy. Sushi was pretty good. Kaibashira was tasty and fresh. California roll was pretty standard. The Meji maguro was fresh but a little bland.
