They brought in checkers from Denver stores and while this store is packed full of people shopping the lines are short and fast. I had to write another review because in December I was shopping for a party. I was in line had everything I needed. Then realized I forgot ice. The clerk let me stay in line and purchase the ice without re-waiting. Robbie the checker went and got another cart for me and put all 4 bags of ice in another cart and helped me out to my car since I had two carts. He loaded all the groceries in my car for me. I offered a tip to him and he would not take it. Yes it's a busy store, the shelves sometimes get empty due to the influx of people. Every time I come to Safeway I am greeting by friendly employees. Even the pharmacy staff rocks. They always get what I need in. Once I complained about the price of the prescription and they told me what to say to get the Doctor to re-write it for brand only. Instead of $60 per month I only pay $32. I love our local Safeway and it's the employees that deserve 5 stars! I would love a Safeway gas station in the area. I also like the Just for U App that saves me money on all the items I buy regularly.

Ronnie is a racist piece of shit and tried kicking me out for being Mexican I hope with all of my soul and hatred she goes to sleep forever soon. She also chain smokes near the entrance and spits at customers coming in. The managers Titus and Carlos are cool tho !

We weren't disappointed. When we arrived we found the jerky selection promptly and each bought a few bags and also some meat sticks. The jerky was extremely moist, more-so than more jerky's that I have tried. We turned around and drove back to Chicago right after as we had to get back for work on Monday. Would do it again in a heartbeat, thanks for everything Mountain Food Market.

It's always been a convenient stop in town, and lately the produce has been especially nice and fresh. I do wish they had a butcher on site with fresh cut meat available, and I'd also love to see them bring back the little scan keychain fobs or some kind of locals discount program. It can feel a little awkward having to say you're a local at the register, and it would be much easier if customers could just use a phone number lookup instead. I'm also not sure why the locals perk would be limited to only Mondays. Something available throughout the week would make more sense for people who live here. Prices are definitely on the high side, which is understandable in a small mountain town, but a small loyalty perk for locals would go a long way. During the summer I was also told they could make sandwiches during the day but couldn't slice deli meat, which seemed a bit odd and a little confusing as a customer.

I've been a loyal City Market shopper for years, but after my visit on May 25, 2026, I'm genuinely…read morerethinking where I spend my money. The employee working there -- heavy‑set guy, black mask, black apron -- acted like helping customers was some kind of personal burden. I asked a simple question, and the way he responded was flat‑out rude. No friendliness, no basic courtesy, not even the bare minimum of professionalism. Just a miserable attitude like he was being forced to interact with people against his will. Later that day, I called to speak with a supervisor--a woman who I assume is supposed to represent the store's leadership. I explained everything, thinking maybe she'd apologize, offer to make it right, or at least acknowledge that customers shouldn't be spoken to like that. Instead, she giggled. *Giggled.* Then said, "Well, he wasn't supposed to be at self-checkout--that's not his job," as if that excuses treating a customer like garbage. No apology. No "I'm sorry that happened." Just excuses and laughter. So let me get this straight: City Market employs rude, miserable people in roles they're "not supposed to be in," and when you complain, management laughs at you? I don't care what his job title is. Basic human decency isn't optional. And a supervisor who giggles at a customer's frustration has no business in leadership. Do better, City Market. Or don't--I'll just take my business elsewhere.
