Eh. It's a decent neighborhood grocery store to have nearby but it's sometimes not well stocked

I used to love this place, I-went in all the time knew all the employees names, and they knew mine. On Memorial Day Weekend , I went in with 3 12 packs of Ginger-ale that I wanted to exchange, I had a drive up and go order and they gave me Sugar rather than Zero. I go to the counter and a woman I had never seen (Holiday Temp) asks what I wanted, And I told her I wanted to exchange these soda I had gotten mistakenly gotten for the right ones...she we replies "We don't Do That!" I said well it your fault that I have the wrong thing, she says "You have to take thet to the Drive up an go kiosk". I ask why as I have had this happen many times before and they just say go grab what you wanted. Ok, so I also Have a few receipts that I was overcharged on and I would like my money back (They overcharge about 1/2 of the time on something), I have done this many, many times...this time she replies "We don't do that",. Now I am getting mad, I said "That is fraud, have you heard of fraud?" so she begrudging looks at the receipts, and starts questioning everything, I say "Give me that back, I will talk to someone else. It has now been 5 minutes of constant stupidity! Now I am mad, I go down to the kiosk and tell the gal I want to exchange these sodas, she asks when did you buy it, I was curt I replied "I don't know what does that matter. i just want ot exchange these". Just then, a holiday temp manager shows up, I have never seen him before, and I am there 3 times a week. He asks whats going on and I tell him, he offers to get the new sodas I reply "I can get them I have spent 10 minutes now trying to get someone to tell me it's ok!" He says go ahead, then I ask him for my money back for the overcharges to me and my elderly parents (I do a-lot of their shopping}. And he does, I end up spending a hundred plus dollars, by the time I get home I see they have blocked me, my parents, and my girlfriend out of our accounts (even though they were not even there). The reason: Because I was curt, oh, they also accused me of fraud, I guess because I accused them of it? I don't know) of course I was curt, it took me 10 minutes for what should have been a one minute thing! So now my parents, and my girlfriend and I can't do drive up and go, or delivery, because of one stupid encounter! So now I guess when someone asks "Going to Safeway?" To use their vernacular we will reply "We don't do that!"! read more

Cashier Nancy was not helpful. When I tried to use the special deals on the app, the app didn't work. Nancy tried to hurry me along and told me to take it up with the manager and didn't even make an effort to make it right. The manager was very helpful and found out I was overcharged almost $10. read more

I like this safeway. My only dislike is the layout of the store. That bakery section is wild. They are staffed with exceptional employees tho. Today I was checked out by Tom and Ethan. They were pleasant young men. I cracked a few jokes with them. Its great to go somewhere and have exceptional customer service. My first time there I met Tom at the place you can order chicken. When I tell you stellar employee, that is even an understatement. Unfortunate for Safeway my first trip there meeting him would be his last. My friend just bought a house near by and when im in town this will def be my preferred grocery store. Prices are great, store is clean. Organized. Ample parking. read more

I already don't like this place. It's the most expensive grocery store on earth. Tonight pulled into the gas station because unleaded was $2.57. I pump and even with $.10 off it says $3.73. To make it even a little more annoying they turned the lights out on me when I pulled up. For fucks sake, I'm a neighbor and feel like they don't want me here. Lol. read more

As someone who works nights and is in the area between 10pm and 1050pm. It is very unfortunate that the staff onsite take it upon themselves to close 10 minutes early when there are no other options in the area to grab a quick bite to eat or groceries. This Roxborough Safeway location consistently has old, expired items left on the shelves. I've found expired salad dressing, yogurt, pizza crust and iced tea here. Even if turnover is not very high at this Safeway, you'd hope the stock is at least fresh. Friendly staff but disappointing (and sometimes old!) products here. read more

This was today 4-12-24: I visited today and there were zero red onions, 3 lousy stalks of celery and only one kind of mushroom (White) spread out to take up space so it did not look so empty. I was going to buy 20 items but stopped at that point and left in disgust and traveled another 12 miles to a real store where I was able to complete my entire list. This is constantly the case. So bad that when we absolutely need to get certain items to complete recipes we go to the King Soopers 12 miles away or the other Safeway also 12 miles away that is well Managed by Jude a 39 year employee. We get so sick of having such a poorly run store. It has been bad since it opened and has only gotten worse. If you don't have the space to stock more then expand the building to the south. There is plenty of space for lease there. I am sure Sterling Ranch as made your store very popular so you should be able to afford to expand or do something to correct this INEPT Service. If Zero Stars was an Option I would have chosen that. read more

I purchased cheese in May and didn't check the date because I automatically assumed they check the shelves and take off the old stuff but was I wrong! My entire family got sick and when I checked the date on the cheese it was from the middle of March! I recommend shopping elsewhere! This is not the first time we've received expired food from Safeway. read more

Some employees are great help when needed. Unfortunately at least one person (that appears to be a manager) is not helpful and refuses to give digital coupons if you don't have your phone with you. Better grocery stores are not that far away. read more

I came to Colorado from LA for about two weeks for a graduation and to visit family, and I had to make several trips to this Safeway. Honestly, my experience here was pretty bad. I can tell the store is understaffed. I know not everyone wants to wake up in the morning to work at a grocery store, but the little staff they did have was very unpleasant, rude, and indifferent to what I needed. When I would ask workers for help, they seemed like they were in a hurry to just go do ANYTHING else besides help me, a paying customer. The reason this review gets 4 stars, however, is because of the girl with the dark curly hair in the deli department. I'm forgetting her name now, but it'll come to me when I'm not writing the review lol! She was very friendly, helpful, and she took her time with everything unlike a lot of other workers. It didn't feel like she just wanted me to get out of her face. The times I would go to Safeway, I felt like I sort of made a cool Colorado friend every time I went to the deli department! She definitely made my experience at the store a lot more comfortable and inviting, and I really appreciate her for it! read more

I just stopped by for a few things, bought small potatoes , avocados... they didn't have good tomatoes and other produce. Bad selection and then when I cut up the potatoes tonight, they were old and bad. I stopped by King Soopers an hour later... what a difference! Steer clear of Safeway! read more

One of the best Safeway's in Colorado. Great selection of dry goods and fresh produce. New management has turned this location around. Self-Checkouts added November 2017 has put a lot of smiles on not only myself but many customers that just want to get in and out. As with any business turnover is always an issue, but it looks like many of the bad seeds have left allowing better staff to take over. Reading the poor reviews I have to laugh. Some people think they're royalty and have a piss poor attitude in general. We're all human, just trying to make the best of this life. Instead of judging, ask yourself how can I make a difference. I don't like going to this Safeway store. The pharmacy is fine, but if you don't mind feeling invisible , then you won't mind checking out your groceries. I have been trying to make excuses for the employees who visit with each other while the customer stands by. Or waiting for the checker to come check my groceries out while checker is visiting with someone. What an accommodating store! Be it the produce department ordering brocollini and getting it in the next day or the meat department hunting down a 5 pound pork shoulder. I typically don't shop here, it's second tier Safeway store. Selection is poor, fresh vegetables and fruits tend to be tasteless. Staff are under-motivated and often more interested in finishing their conversations with each other or their friends than serving customers. The exterior and entry are typically filthy. DO NOT USE THE POST OFFICE/gas station/Garlic Knot. I recently moved here and had never been in but needed to send a package that was prepaid. I went in and there were two people in line and no one behind the counter, which I was not upset about--I figured whoever worked there needed to run do something, whatever. The girl working the convenience store cash register asked the woman working the postal part of she was aware that there was a line forming and she stomped back over screaming at her coworker that she had been busy. She got back behind the postal counter, slammed her fist on the counter and yelled "WHO'S NEXT?!" I just stood there since there were two people who had gotten there first, but she looked at me and (I'm not exaggerating) screamed "IS THAT PACKAGE READY TO GO?!" I said it was but the other people were in line first. She screamed back "WELL THEN I NEED YOU TO PAY ATTENTION AND JUST SET IT ON THE COUNTER AND LEAVE,OK?!" I asked her to please not scream at me, and she yelled back "WELL YOU JUST NEED TO SET IT ON THE COUNTER AND LEAVE, THAT'S HOW THIS WORKS". Needless to say, I will never set foot in there again unless she's fired. If you're looking for a good post office, go to the one off of Schaffer and Chatfield, they do not scream at you, they're amazing, quick, and it's only a little further of a drive. read more

Horrible Grocery Store. Lousy Selection and most products are near expiration date. The car wash at the adjoining Safeway Gas Station is even worse. The bill changer has been broken for months, the knobs on the spray selector are all broken as and do not correlate to what the sprayer is actually doing and they do not care.
