The plaster came off in sheets, the 1960s tile was covered in decades of calcium buildup, the coping was old red brick with mortar literally crumbling out, and some jets and plumbing didn't even work. The pool was technically swimmable, but it was depressing to look at. This summer our weekly pool cleaner told us the plaster was about to fail completely, so we started calling around for estimates. Most of the big corporate companies gave us inflated quotes and made us feel like just another job number. A trusted friend recommended Oscar's, so we checked Yelp, saw all the great reviews, and gave him a call. Within a week of signing, his crew demoed the entire pool in just a few hours. We got to choose tile from several suppliers and ended up with a beautiful pebble mosaic that matched our house. At first, we thought we'd keep the old red brick coping, but at the last minute we switched to a modern dark gray brick. Best decision ever! It completely transformed the look of our backyard. As often happens with older homes, surprises came up: our original 1964 gas and electrical lines were corroded and had to be replaced. Oscar handled everything--brought in trusted contractors, coordinated the work, and saved us the headache of dealing with multiple companies. While we were at it, we upgraded our equipment to a top-of-the-line Jandy system with Wi-Fi controls, plus added a heater and automatic pool filler. Yes, the budget went up, but every upgrade was worth it. Watching the transformation was amazing. Once the new tile, coping, and plaster went in, it felt like we had a brand-new pool built from scratch. The white plaster makes the water sparkle, the equipment runs quietly and efficiently, and with the heater and lights, we can swim comfortably day or night, year-round. Beyond the work itself, what made the experience so special was Oscar and his family. He's personable, honest, hardworking, and clearly cares about his craft. Considering that fixing the leak was the reason I hired him in the first place, I found that price ridiculous. I gave Sam an opportunity to make the situation right; he declined. His defensive response to my concerns only reinforced my impression that he was more interested in the money and defending himself than resolving the problem for his customer. The difference with the new company I hired has been night and day. They were far more professional and actually fixed the leak for a fraction of what Sam quoted me. They also seemed genuinely interested in solving the problem rather than simply running up the bill. I rarely post reviews, but I felt this experience deserved an honest one. Based on my experience, I would not use Sam's services again. Consumer beware.

I first spoke with Misty on the phone and told her the issue I was having with my Jacuzzi J-460 (which had been pre-diagnosed by my electrician), and she was quite lovely in describing the cost of repair. It was a failed heater pump. I also needed a drain and clean since it had been some time that I had used it due to the heater pump issue. Her quoted price was fair and was NOT elevated after the service was performed, as some companies tent to do. Justin came, on time and was scheduled, replaced the faulty part and completed a very thorough drain and clean. The unit looked like new afterwards. I am very happy that I chose Spa Pros. He answered my call and proceeded to try and troubleshoot for about an hour (without even working for us). Such a kind gesture. Following this, Eddie came by to check out our pool and see if he could figure out what was wrong. Turns out our current Pool Guy was treating our pool as chlorine and it had a saltwater system (something I regularly questioned our normal Pool Guy but was routinely dismissed) Eddie and his guys came by a couple of times and completely reset our system. Saving us from having to buy a brand new pool heaters, which we had just bought two years ago. Our pool is now functioning perfectly and looks amazing, and is actually saltwater again.
