I called Jarvis Appliance for a refrigerator repair. The fridge was leaking water in front. The technician visited, worked on the unit and stated that we would not see any more water on the floor. I paid $234 for this service. A few days later the water was back. I called and Jarvis scheduled a return visit 5 days later. The technician worked on the fridge again and felt confident that the issue had been resolved. Less than a week later, the fridge was leaking again in the same spot. I called to see what could be done and inquired about the warranty. I was told that there would be no refund because the technician came out and did the work. I stated so "even though the problem has not been fixed, you will not refund any portion paid." The Jarvis service representative confirmed this. So, be careful, there is no real warranty for service at Jarvis appliance. read more

Jarvis electric sold us a microwave that leaks microwaves. The microwave was performing unusually. Jarvis came and said nothing was wrong. We tried to get Jarvis to take a closer look--evaluated the microwave but no deal. Later, we discovered that we could buy a device that checks for microwave leaks and sure enough, we can't use our microwave bc it leaks. Called Jarvis and they said they'd charge us over 150. to come take a look bc the microwave out of warranty. We told Jarvis that it wasn't out of warranty when we originally called and they denied the issue and did nothing. The young woman said, verbatim, "We are in the business of making money!" Poor training and bad business. Just fix the door of the microwave since you missed addressing the defect when you were first contacted by the customer. read more

The whole team at Jarvis was great, from sales to management to the guys who delivered and installed my new fridge. I have had problems with delivery in the past given the nature of my rowhouse and entrances to the house, but the team at Jarvis handled it expertly. The prices are competitive with big box stores, but the service you get is in a completely different league. I was referred to them by my real estate agent who has been a client of them for years and I can see why. There is no other company I'll need to talk to again. While there was some delay with having the particular unit I wanted in stock, their team communicated this with me clearly and kept me up to date on their efforts to secure it. They were proactive with communicating delivery windows with me, called with reminders, and then again when they were on their way. While everyone says they will do this with deliveries, I have had plenty of surprise visits or people dropping by way out of the planned window, so I appreciate the professionalism shown here. We needed to replace a dishwasher, and we have a kitchen that's difficult to work in due to questionable choices by a previous homeowner. We tried three or four other companies first, and they were unable to find a workable solution. We have family who have used Jarvis, so we gave them a call. They understood all of the challenges posed by the existing situation, and came out to measure and take a look in-person. We discussed what we were looking for, they made a recommendation, and today they came out to install. The installation required some custom work -- we knew this going in -- and they did that work on site and then installed the new unit without issue, and removed the old one for disposal. This was a ton of work, but they took care of everything from start to finish. Everyone involved was friendly and helpful and professional, and was there when they said they would be. Can't recommend Jarvis strongly enough. I hope not to need new appliances in the near future, but this is who I'll be calling if I do. read more

I have used Jarvis for many years. Always would recommend this company. Things changed on Nov. 28th. Purchased a washer and dryer, no problem with sales. The 2 young men that delivered my purchase were very rude and disrespectful. My delivery was late in the afternoon and I guess they didn't want to work late. I had a storm door that needed to come off to get the washer/dryer in. They were NOT doing this. They asked me if I knew someone that could remove it. I told them it would be me. They went back to the truck and said they would wait ( mind you they made several comments like "They didn't need this"). Well I guess I wasn't moving fast enough and they did come back and removed my door. But , not pleasantly!! Before they completed the job one of them asked me what they could do with the door they removed. I told them both to just leave it and I would take care of it. Then the one young man decided to tell me he HAD to leave to get home because his girlfriend was working nights and he needed to get home!! Honestly I was shocked! Never had a delivery person ever treated me like this before. He did leave the job and the other man left did finish install and he did put my door back up. I thanked him....knowing he only did that because I feel he knew how bad the delivery process was for me. I never would have written this review if either one of them just apologized for the way they were to me. Not only that I went back to the store and relayed my disappointment to Steve. I really feel that me going back to let them know just fell on deaf ears..... Needless to say I will never shop, buy, or tell anyone to use this company again. Bob was extremely helpful in placing our order and scheduling delivery for a new refrigerator, range, microwave and dishwasher. Bob made sure we received the best prices available and rebates. Excellent service, competitive pricing, dedicated to getting the job done right, thorough attention to detail in both sales and installation, punctual, conscientious, hard working, and they really listen to customer concerns. We needed to replace four 20-year old Maytag appliances. Jarvis sales rep, Jimmy, showed me how to save money by purchasing all four appliances from a single manufacturer for additional rebates. He further encouraged me to wait until Jarvis had its Black November sale for more aggressive pricing. Jimmy also found and offered me a top-of-the-line microwave that's a floor model that he could sell me brand new (ie., with all the warranties, etc) for less than the model we were considering. Jarvis not only excelled at sales but installation too. Their standard operating procedure is to send out a seasoned installer to the site and confirm that the appliances will fit properly as well as anticipate any additional materials or changes that might be needed to make the installation run smoothly. Well that didn't happen by mistake in our case. What really impressed me was how much effort they made to make up for this oversight and ensure that we would be satisfied. When the installers arrived, they realized that three of the four appliances would require special handling to fit and work properly. The microwave oven was much larger than its predecessor. The cooktop was smaller than the hole in the counter space, just like the previous cooktop. And the wall oven needed a higher voltage circuit breaker, a larger hole in the wall, and some wall tiles would need to be removed, cut and regrouted. The installers were resourceful and cooperative. They did the best they could and made everything fit and work properly. The wall oven, however, still needed a new circuit breaker, and the tile still needed to be cut and regrouted. The cooktop also used the same old plastic frame to fit on top of the counter. Kevin, CEO and head of installation, visited our home several times to order the parts needed, get the tile cut (note: we checked with several stores like Home Depot and Lowes who refused to cut the tile) correctly, and reinstall the tile to match its previous decor. He had to order a special new frame for the cooktop from California. He installed the circuit breaker and got everything done within a month, despite the heavy volume of sales from the Black November sales event. Jarvis did not charge us for any of this extra attention and service. (note: Best Buy told me that I would have had to pay an electrician to install the new circuit breaker as well as cut the tile and reinstall it myself. They don't do it.) We were very pleased with the conscientious way that Kevin paid attention to every detail to make sure that the job was done right. Jarvis clearly deserves a 5-STAR rating and I would not only recommend them to anyone, I would only use them again. read more

We've been waiting 2 months for a part for our stove with no contact from them and they've made no effort to look around for an alternative supplier. Walking in needing a washing machine as mine was broken. Bob Evans understood what that meant...I was desperate! Told him I was tired of circuit boards breaking, I washed blankets almost every week, and my husband wanted a machine made in the USA. A friend suggested Jarvis and told me they price match so I called. When I can support a local business that is always my preference. Not only did they price match, but they really know their products. I had a particularly challenging removal of an old Subzero and did not want to bite the bullet for a new one. The President of the company Kevin came to my house (for free), sized the situation up, and made great recommendations. On delivery day, he sent a wonderful team of workers to haul out and haul in, who could not have been more polite and helpful. He had an amazing cabinetry guy, who painstakingly spent about twelve hours (no kidding) shaving my old cabinets to "find" a 1/2 inch to fit the new fridge. I also had some service on other appliances done that same day by yet more people from the Jarvis team. Super convenient and easy to work with. Not that I want more appliance issues but if I do, I will certainly call them again. read more

I had to pay about $500 to replace an intake valve on a dishwasher. I knew what was wrong with the dishwasher. After the first visit, I was told that I have to change the pump. When I told the technician that the manufacturer had told me over the phone that the intake valve is faulty, he got irritated and told me, if so, I should replace both the pump and the intake valve (~$1000). Finally, after replacing the intake valve, and second trip for which I had to pay $175 labor charge, everything was fine. I had to pay about $500 to fix a minor problem!! I thought they will not charge me for the second trip since I had told them on the phone before the 1st visit that the intake valve needed replacement. Jarvis does not think like that!! read more

I have purchased a refridgerator, washer, dryer and dishwasher - appliance selection and sales staff are OK. Service staff is bad. They charged me $150 to come to the house and tell me that my water temperature was not high enough and that was why the dishwasher wasn't working well. Making this adjustment did nothing, the dishwasher still didn't work right. When I asked them to come take a look at it again they intended to charge me the same upfront service charge. I argued that this was really the same job as before since it seems the problem was misdiagnosed. They claimed we were past there work guarentee date (note that they never acutually fixed anything the first time). I've been a good customer but my business and keeping the customer happy didn't seem important to them. They will lose my business. read more

Very disappointed with this company. Made an appt on Friday for the following Wed. They called me Tues to tell me they'll be out from 5-7pm which was the only time I could NOT be home. When I made the appt they told me they close at 6 and that they would be able to come during the day hours. Now the service manager (Mike) is saying they are busy this time of year and needed to push appts later, which was never mentioned before. And they were unwilling to work with me or rearrange to give me an earlier time. I've now lost 5 days waiting and have to get a new appt with another company. This is typical of the support provided by Jarvis. My last big purchase (4 appliances for a kitchen) began with an email - sight unseen -- I wouldn't do this any other place. Then there is the Delivery Department: Josh, Angel, and Connor. My husband and I are remodeling our kitchen and wanted to shop local for our appliances. We were waited on immediately by Denis who gave us detailed information on the appliances we needed to purchase. He mentioned that the microwave was going on sale in a couple of weeks and we told him we could wait. He said he would give us a call when it did. One month went by and we did not receive a call so we went back to the store. Denis told us the sale was pushed back (this was the end of March). He now told us the microwave would be on sale around the 1st week of April and the range would be on sale the 1st week of May. April came and went and we never received a call. I guess we weren't spending enough money for Jarvis to have our business. We decided to go elsewhere to purchase the appliances where both the range and microwave were on sale. read more

I recently purchased a washer from Jarvis. From the minute I walked in the door I knew I was making a good choice. The saleswoman, Elsie, was wonderful! Delivery/install team were equally good. My old model was being recalled by the manufacturer. I didn't realize until it was hauled away that I needed a serial number off the machine to get the rebate so I called and asked for help. Just bought a Weber Grill and over the stove microwave at Jarvis. The grill was deeply discounted as it was a floor model. Upon delivery it was determined the protective film was defective. After a couple of hours the delivery team got it off but the stainless was discolored. The delivery team brought it back to the store. They delivered brand new grill in its place when they came to install the microwave a few days later. The installation team did a good job venting the microwave through our brick wall. They had to do more work than anticipated because of a pipe in the wall but still honored the quoted price. The guy at the store did sound incredulous when I told him I couldn't get the film off the grill. He did send the team right back. They had never had that problem before. The pricing of accessories was better than on Amazon. All in all, a good experience with buying, delivery, installation and service. Glad they are close by. read more

I purchased all the main appliances for our house a little over 2 years ago. The frig had an issue and it was still under warranty and repaired by LG. In May 2015, the washer stopped working. It showed an E6 code. Jarvis advised it would be $100 to diagnose and additional costs if we decided to repair. Since it was only 2 years old, we decided to repair at a total cost of $400 which included the $100 diagnose problem. After multiple attempt (4 visits) it was finally fixed (keeping my fingers crossed.) I asked Jarvis to waive the final $100 because of the inconvenience of 4 separate visits. They didn't budge.
