Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Melanie had a timeline of everything that needed to get done (even the little things) and she made sure we were on-schedule. She gave us excellent vendor recommendations (people told us that the food was the best they've had at a wedding, and the band was a huge hit as well!). She was extremely responsive and would even have us send her things we liked from Instagram for inspiration. Every time we got off the phone with her we would look at each other and say "I'm so glad we have Melanie on our team." She kept us on-budget and helped us understand what it was worth it to spend on as we searched for venues, caterers, bands, flowers, and more. During the wedding week and weekend, Melanie kept everyone calm and on-task. She made sure all the tents, tables, chairs, etc were delivered on-time and everyone was where they should be. She took care of all the "little things" that we didn't think of and even coordinated our rehearsal. The event was beautiful, and we owe a lot of that to Melanie's tasteful suggestions. We went with the Party Package, added an extra hour & he cut us a fair deal to supply music & a microphone for our ceremony (located down a field by the Connecticut River). Eric is prompt with answering emails & phone calls. We had a FaceTime chat for about 90 mins so that we could "meet" him & talk more about what we needed. He has great ideas & can be trusted to play suitable music for any crowd. Our wedding guests were an average age of 50-ish; he played some of the classic wedding dance music. He also listened to us with our "Do Not Play" list which is very important. Like, he even agreed that our list was agreeable & wouldn't want the songs played at his wedding, either. I'd say Eric is more than a DJ; he is also a great coordinator. I saw him teaming up with our photographer to make sure things were smooth. He interacted with guests & was walking around to announce what was happening next & telling tables when it was their turn to go up to get their dinner. While the location was beautiful, it would have been nothing without Seth's eye for light, angles and positioning. They were such an easy going, and might I add, hilarious couple to work with. They had us genuinely laughing which made for some really beautiful candid shots. Their love for photography in addition to each other is evident by the way they speak to one another and bounce ideas off each other to find just the right shot. To say that they are talented and easy to work with would hardly be enough. They are WONDERFUL. Seth even went above and beyond and sent me a sneak peak the very next day after the photo shoot. A month has passed since our wedding, and my husband and I are honestly a little sad we no longer have an excuse to interact with Mary. She has coordinated weddings at the Reading Room for years, and is a master. There is no detail that escapes her inquiry. She will ask about set up, timelines, preferences, food, flowers, and will coordinate with all your vendors. My husband and I pride ourselves on being detail oriented, but we were surprised by the things that had escaped our attention that revealed themselves during discussions with Mary. But more than just details, Mary is a joy to work with. She is kind and funny, and it is obvious that even after dozens of weddings, she really enjoys them.
