My job requires that I hunch over people all day long, so my shoulders are very stiff and have always had a hump- like appearance at the base of my neck and shoulders going down to my back. The Groupon was for a 90 minute hot stone massage. Most hot stone massages are out of my price range so this made it accessible for me. I made my appointment immediately online. I am used to massages as I get work done regularly due to injuries I have from a car accident but nothing like this type of massage. I have been through many massage therapists and usually am less than impressed. I have someone I see for my deep tissue/trigger point therapy and now I have Brandy for relaxation. The website luckily gave good directions to the place which is located behind another business in a shared medical office building in Sellwood. There is usually street parking nearby. The waiting area is downstairs and the massage room is up in a little well-decorated room. She even has complimentary bottles of water which is great after a massage. I was new to hot stone massage and wasn't sure what I was in for but just really wanted something relaxing and warm. That's exactly what I got. Brandy uses a combination of massage strokes and hot stones to relax your muscles and mind. I was glad I went for the 90 minute massage because I did not want it to end. Her pressure was not too firm but not too light, either. There were also hot towels involved in my massage and it was just amazingly relaxing. I never treat myself to anything like this but just got back from my second visit with her and had to write a review. She was a little late getting to my appointment (it happens and I totally understand- I was running a little late myself) and made it up to me with some bonus massage time since I was her last client of the day. Her regular rates even without the Groupon are worth it. I have seen other hot stone massages going for much higher prices but have not bothered going elsewhere. I can't review her other types of massage as both of my appointments with her were for hot stone specifically. Last night I decided to give them one last try and booked a 90 minute massage. For the first 30 - 40 minutes, I kept hearing a buzzing and the massage therapist kept either switching to one hand or just resting a hand for a minute or so without moving it. I finally looked up to find that she had been texting the whole time she was working on me. I called her out on it and she finally focused on the massage. Will not be going back. If you're thinking of going here, don't waste your time or money.
