We basically decided to use Jason Brown Wood Floors after seeing a job they did for our friends. I had seen some bad jobs by others in the past, but Jason Brown's work was excellent, on floors that had seen better days. He replaced some damaged boards with original wood that was a perfect match. He also worked with them as they moved their furniture and went out of town for the weekend, during which time he completed the job. Jason Brown did an equally fantastic job with our house. We had not moved in, so we all had that to our advantage. He refinished our original early-20th century hardwood floors with inlay strips around the edges, as well as newer bamboo floors in the kitchen. We went for no stain. Jason's knowledge of historic flooring really showed in our conversation during his site visit. He was so professional and accommodating, even though I'm kind of a jerk. The job went perfectly smoothly and quickly, completing our whole downstairs in two days. I admittedly didn't get other estimates, as his price didn't shock me and I knew I could rely on his quality, service and schedule. We couldn't recommend Jason Brown Wood Floors any more highly! Jason Brown refinished my hardwood floors in my kitchen and family room, just over 2 years ago and they need to be completely redone again now. The floors are cherry and were originally installed 21 years ago. They wore beautifully, despite an active family with 3 kids and 2 golden retrievers, for 19 years. When Jason saw the flooring for his estimate, he said there was no problem in refinishing them. When he completed his work, the floors looked beautiful but, within days, the finish started wearing off. I called his office right away and was told that this was normal wear and tear. After several more emails, he agreed to look at pictures. He stated that the problem was the dogs... The same dogs that I have had for many years. Obviously, dogs can cause somewhere to flooring... but in this circumstance, the finished was literally scraping off with minimal distress. Jason finally came out to the house after many calls to his office. This occurred about 6 months after he finished the project. He blamed the problem on the dogs and the cherry floors. He refuses to admit any responsibility in terms of the finish literally wearing off. When people come into my house, they frequently exclaim "what happened to your floors, they look horrible!". The floors look much, much worse now, 2 years after Jason Brown refinished them, then they did prior to him working on them. I'm very disappointed by the quality of the job and the lack of customer service. read more

Jason Brown and his team recently did a remarkable job restoring two entire floors of 100-year-old white oak in our whole house remodel in May of this year, 2023. It's not often a contractor meets my high expectations (let alone exceeds them), but Jason truly went above and beyond to another level. Apparently, this is just the way he approaches all of his work. This was not just sand and finish. We had reconfigured the floorplan and removed many walls, leaving several areas where new planks had to be knitted among old. I had expected a good but visible repair, but Jason and his team removed several feet of flooring on either side and matched the new wood with old so that the repairs are truly and entirely invisible. When we found old stains from pet urine in the kitchen Jason removed and replaced a HUGE area "to get it right," not just small patches. Near the end of the job Jason wasn't satisfied with the condition of the existing old hardwood in the front hallway entrance and great room, so he pulled it ALL up, reinstalled a large area of matching white oak and made it perfect. To top it off, Jason's crew is polite, hard-working, knowledgeable, and careful. They cleaned up thoroughly every night and explained the plans for the next morning. They worked hard for a long, full day every day to get the job done on time. And Jason shows up on the job nearly every day. This is one rare bird...a contractor that you can hand the keys to, walk away, and leave the job in his hands knowing the result will be better than expected. We heard good things about Jason Brown Wood Floors. Our floors were in much need of refinishing and the challenge was the living room and dining room floors were red oak and the kitchen was white oak. Jason did an amazing job finishing the two different woods in such a way that you can't tell the difference. We have been dealing with a lot of contractors and he is one of the few that not only takes pride in his work, he actually stands behind it. I wish all contractors were as easy to work with. I reached out to Jason Brown Floors regarding an estimate for work in Baltimore City. I contacted the office to schedule an estimate. An estimate was never scheduled; but, the receptionist contacted me weeks later to ask whether the owner could stop by at the last minute, same day appointment while he was "in my neighborhood. "I shifted appointments to accommodate and the estimate was never delivered. I followed up with the owner directly after two weeks. They have completed two jobs one was laminate on my entire 2nd floor second was to refinish two rooms of wood. Both crews were on time, respectful, fast and both look amazing!!!! My 2nd floor was a little tricky as I have a ton of railings and they made the transition from the floor to the bottom of the railing seem less. I wish I called them sooner! read more

We used Jason Brown after hearing great reviews of the work he did for several others on our street. We needed some areas of our VERY old pine floors replaced, and thought he'd be the perfect one to do it, given his experience with our neighbors' old wood floors. Jason and his crew did not disappoint. They came over promptly to provide an estimate. Then their work was truly amazing. They were utter perfectionists, even coming back for an extra day to put on another coat of sealant/polish, just to make the sure the new flooring looked its best!
