The salesman, Scott, helped me through the entire process. He came to my house and measured and called me within a few days with an estimate. When I went into the showroom again, he had several samples picked out in my color range. He did not try to sell me the most expensive carpet or padding, but recommended a very nice quality. About three weeks later, it was installed. The two men who did the install were on time, very polite and respectful of my home. They did a fabulous job. It was an easy process and I trusted AGS from the start. They have a large showroom of slabs of granite, quartz, etc. Who knew there were so many shades of white? We were given a price and the contract was signed that same day! The agent came the next week to measure her floor for the exact measurements and once Chris had the info he called back & the price did change by about $1k but still an excellent price! She put a deposit down when we first went there then paid the rest of invoice when they scheduled the installation. We don't know time frames for ordering products but it took over a month before she got another call to schedule the install. The installers came yesterday & were very professional & did a good job. They even matched up the molding coming into the kitchen & around cabinets and walls and it was perfect. It did take all day but overall great work and again the floor looks amazing.

We had several problems working with Scott Loewenstein at Wholesale Cabinet Distributors. First, he…read moredid not want to drive to Virginia to deliver the cabinets, so we paid more to have them sent directly from the manufacturer. We live on a narrow street that is lined with public parking, and the cabinets arrived in a truck that was too large to fit down the street. I called Scott and asked him what he was going to do, and he told me he didn't know, it had never happened before. I was left to work out delivery options with the frustrated truck driver instead of with my salesperson, and delivery was delayed, thus delaying installation. Second, there were issues with the measurements. Scott's design included a corner cabinet that didn't fit through the kitchen door, even though he had the measurement of that opening. The contractor had to cut the cabinet to get it into the room, thus invalidating our warranty. The cabinet over the refrigerator also did not fit, it was too large for the space. When Scott was told, instead of offering to get us a smaller unit, he blamed our contractor, insisting that if we had hired competent workers, they would be able to cut a cabinet with full-overlay doors to fit a smaller space. The contractor had to cut the refrigerator panel, and the cabinet looks misaligned. Third, when the dust settled and we looked at the itemized list on our invoice, we realized that this Maryland business charged us Maryland State retail sales tax despite delivery and installation of the product in the Commonwealth of Virginia. When we called the Maryland Department of Taxation, we received confirmation that the charge was illegally made. Complaints via email, phone, certified mail, and via the Better Business Bureau were met with excuses, denials, and refusal to refund our money. Wholesale Cabinet Distributors changed their story several times telling us this charge was 1. a legitimate Maryland retail tax charge, 2. a handling charge, 3. a keying error, and finally 4. a legitimate Virginia retail tax charge. They then told told the BBB in writing that our complaint was a "non-issue" that had been resolved (Case# 36144762.) We are now having to pursue our refund via legal channels. You may have an excellent experience with this company. If you have a problem with Wholesale Cabinet Distributors, however, you can learn from our experience how it will be handled.

I…read morehad seen some bad jobs by others in the past, but Jason Brown's work was excellent, on floors that had seen better days. He replaced some damaged boards with original wood that was a perfect match. He also worked with them as they moved their furniture and went out of town for the weekend, during which time he completed the job. Jason Brown did an equally fantastic job with our house. We had not moved in, so we all had that to our advantage. He refinished our original early-20th century hardwood floors with inlay strips around the edges, as well as newer bamboo floors in the kitchen. We went for no stain. Jason's knowledge of historic flooring really showed in our conversation during his site visit. He was so professional and accommodating, even though I'm kind of a jerk. The job went perfectly smoothly and quickly, completing our whole downstairs in two days. I admittedly didn't get other estimates, as his price didn't shock me and I knew I could rely on his quality, service and schedule. We couldn't recommend Jason Brown Wood Floors any more highly! We recently purchased a house, and the granite countertops needed some work in our kitchen. We…read morecontacted a few places to get repair quotes for a few chips, cracks, a wide/warped seam, and we also wanted to get the counter re-sealed. Chris, the owner, was very responsive and friendly. His quote was slightly lower but quite similar to the other companies who responded, and we decided to go with him based on the price, his responsiveness, and the reviews on here (particularly the previous review with the seam repair, as the "before" seam looked exactly like ours!). Scheduling was straightforward and we were able to get our ideal day/time the following week. Two guys arrived on time and they got to work right away to fix all of the issues. They were here for quite awhile, and worked really hard to get everything looking great. The seam is now closed up and is MUCH less obvious. The two stone pieces were also uneven, with one jutting out past the other, and they completely fixed it- you would never know! The cracks and chips are all sealed and barely visible, and we haven't had any issues with the counters since their visit. Chris sent us a link before our visit so that we could pay by credit card at the end of the visit (otherwise we could have paid by cash or check). Overall, two thumbs up and we will definitely be calling them in the future if we have any issues with our counters!
