Good Dr, but staff was very, very nasty to my elderly mother-in-law. Bad parking too.

This is a pain management office and it has to be done that way. In this day is drug seekers that give legitimate patients like me a bad name . I am sure mr mike p came in for 2 or 3 visits was quickly discovered and dismissed without getting his 1 million pills he wanted . I am sick of people like that giving patients like me a bad name . I have a pin or screw in most joints of my body , I'm sure Mr mike P had never even been operated on!! So take that into consideration when reading that review

He is ALWAYS available if there is an emergency. In fact, one night, after I contacted his office/service because of a major lower back flare-up, he called me from a Yankee game that he was attending (!); and told me how to proceed. I think it is a combination of his very down to earth and very calm and patient demeanor, combined with his innate sensitivity and deep respect for all persons, that makes his patients feel so comfortable. He invites questions, and ALWAYS does his best to respond. In addition, I have never have had to wait more than a few minutes when I have an appointment to see him. (And during these very short waiting periods, I often chat with his receptionists/medical secretaries, who are also as kind as can be.) Obviously I recommend this doctor to the highest degree possible.

He…read moredidn't try to help me and refused to even listen to what I had to say or look at the images and reports that I brought with me. He told me that if my previous pain management doctor couldn't help me then why would I think that he could help me. That shows lack of confidence in his abilities. He spoke to me rudely. He speaks in a monotone voice like other reviewers wrote and he did not show any care or concern for me as a patient. It was extremely difficult for me to get to his office as I am in chronic pain and had to lie in the back seat of a taxi (which was expensive) to get to his office. So it was extremely disappointing to be treated like that by a pain management doctor who I thought would at least try to help me. I am currently seeing a different pain management doctor who is doing everything he can to help me. What a different experience from Dr. Rubin.

The office told me that my husband must make an appointment to speak to Dr. Rubin. That the office does not communicate with the patient over the phone. What????? He was in such trememndous pain and the doctor wouldn't call after a procedure. On top of it all, Dr. Rubin's bedside manner is horrific. He is not personable to the point of being rude. I will never go there again.

When we had to pay for it they put us on a 5 shot plan at 150.00 a time. The shot hurt so bad and I had more pain after the shot than before I went in. I was hopeful that the pain would lessen. Before going in the following week I went to a surgeon who is covered by my insurance. He said that there is no evidence that these shots do any better than cortisone injections. He said they were basically anti inflammatory and cortisone is much more effective, cheaper and last longer. He said they don't form a cushion. He gave me the shot and it didn't hurt at all.

I have already paid what they determined I owed and NONE of the payments were reflected on this "bill". When I called (had to call three times because their automated system kept hanging up on me) I was told that the remaining balance was actually "only" a little less than $2000.00. DO NOT GO WITH THESE PEOPLE UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF MONEY FOR THE HIDDEN FEES AND HAVE TAKEN YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION BEFORE OPENING ANY MAIL FROM THEM.
