I tried silicone ones from the drugstore, but wasn't happy with the fit. So when I read that Kingston Audiology was under new management, I made an appointment to get some custom-fitted earplugs. I've had friends warn me about going to an independent audiology shop, since they've had bad experiences with high-pressure sales tactics. But that wasn't what I experienced at Kingston. I made an appointment with the audiologist, and was delighted with the care I got. Not only did Dr. Tilley fit me for the earplugs, she gave me some tips for ear health that my regular doctor has never mentioned. I generally like to get my health care from someone who's up to date on their field, and that appears to be true for ears, too. I'm very happy with my earplugs, and haven't had any more problems with water in my ear since I've been wearing them. I think I'm going to go back and have some custom earplugs for hearing protection made, too. I'm going to work harder to make sure I stave off as much hearing loss as I can, and I'm confident I've found a local partner to help me in that quest.

I have been…read morepurchasing my hearing aids from Family Hearing for my entire adult life as I have a congenital hearing loss. The staff are excellent and very proactive for you. Last year my current set of hearing aids, Oticon More, needed new lithium batteries a month or so out of warranty and the staff went to bat for me to get the batteries without cost. The staff follow up with me and today I am going for an annual hearing test with the staff audiologist and check up of my hearing aids. Because Hearing Life is a chain they do have offices in other states, including Florida and your information follows you. When my hearing aids would no longer hold a charge I was able to go to another Hearing Life in Florida, snowbird here, and get them switched out. Very happy with Hearing Life overall.

My mom's life has very much changed as a result of this hearing aid because she is now able to talk so much more and take part in all conversations. Sarah, the audiologist was just amazing, as she tested my mother's hearing, and explained what her deficiencies were. Sarah also explained all of the hearing aid options to my mother and I very clearly and honestly, so we were able to make the perfect choice for my mother.
