Cloistered above the waterline of deciduous wetlands this park has the potential to be five stars. 70% of the park is surfaced with low dust wood chips. While visiting the area from out of town, we brought our dog to burn off some excess energy. Parking is easy. A few designated spots at start of trail, plenty of street parking across the street. Short walk from trailhead to designated dog park. Mulched and muddy fenced park was ideal for our little beast. She enjoyed running up/down the big hill during fetch and meeting friendly dogs. Small agility area is nice for those interested. Bring your own water, toys, and poo bags. read more

I've been coming to this dog park since 2009. My previous dog passed away (Joey Pomeranian) in 2019. After 1year of recovery, I decided to adopt another Pomeranian so I started to coming to the park again. Luey Pomeranian is still 5month old puppy but he really enjoys socializing with other adult doggos. He is small fluff ball with 4lbs but other big doggies are so nice to him and so gentle when they are playing with him. Most of dog owners are very responsible and they seem enjoy bringing there doggos here. read more

My dogs love it here. It's a perfect sized dog park in my opinion and the hill/wooded area really makes my dogs happy. I moved to Kirkland recently from Tempe, AZ and am absolutely floored by how gorgeous this dog park (and others in the area are). My pups and I have been here a few times already and it's been great every time. I've yet to see an out of control dog or an owner who just isn't really connected to what's going on in the park. I love the signs as you walk through the trail to get to the park that say to be present with your dog and not on your phone. The best part is every time we have gotten home my dogs are exhausted and fall right to sleep. The only draw back is the lack of off-street parking, which is mentioned to death in these reviews. Also, I'm pretty confident that any amount of rain would turn this dog park into a muddy mess. But, when it's nice out this place is awesome. read more

Brought our lil pup her on a Sunday afternoon and there were quite many large dogs playing around. Unfortunately for the separated area of small dogs, she was the only one. I can see why many would say that it's not the best place to go when it's rainy. The ground is primarily mud and dirt. Causing it to be slushy and mushy when treading through. The only place for water and trash is at the entrance. It would've been nice for them to have some in the actually dog park area. Make sure to bring water for your dog! Jasper's is definitely one of my favorite places to bring my canine companion. Rain or shine, she loves it. The area is pretty good sized and enclosed. There are different elements within the park from forested trees to flat open areas. The owners are always taking care of their dogs very well. There are plastic bags at the park for those that may have forgotten. Thete is also a separate area for smaller dogs. The things that I can find that I am not a huge fan is that it is on a hill side, not that the dogs mind and there is no water for the dogs to swim and I go to Marymoor for that. This is a wonderful neighborhood dog park in a very very cool place. It's big enough for the dogs to run and play and it's hilly so it wears them out a little bit. There are trees and bushes for them to sniff and the people and other dogs are very nice. However the odds of us coming back are slim. The surface of the park really is horrible. It creates dust every time the dogs run or play and I imagine if it's raining it's very muddy. I know it can be expensive to resurface the whole park but it definitely reduces the pleasantness of the visit here. I originally gave this review three stars but for the last 10 minutes I've been running from place to place trying to stay up wind of the dust. It's horrible. The other glaring problem is that there is no water. There's a single bowl in the middle of the park but to fill it you have to leave the park and walk a couple hundred feet down the path. Then fill the bowl and carry it back. Not always easy to do with a couple of large rambunctious dogs on leashes. I am amending my review again a few minutes later as I have found the water fountain is broken. And one more time as I have found a sign that says that shared bowls spread disease. I now understand the sentiment however there should be signs clearly saying at the entrance of the park that is there is no water. Or there should be water. There are a lot of signs here telling you what to do. One of them says "Jaspers tip: bring your own water." Jasper is their cartoon dog on all the posters. I've been to a lot of dog parks in a number of states. In my business I travel with my dogs daily. I have never been to a dog park with no water. Until now. Love this, Dog Park, very good place to take my pups to expel all their energy. It is very large includes a hike which isn't very long but still it's a good height to take your dogs on, they have a small dog area, which is good for the little yappies and then they have a large dog area for both the little yappies and the big woof woofs. The upkeep is very good. They try to maintain the area, it's tucked away and not too busy. It has been a little cold, heat lamps would be totally awesome, but definitely not expected ha ha thank you for creating this Dog Park. It is a very nice place to visit. read more

This is one of the nicest dog parks in Kirkland. It is fenced with a small separated area for smaller dogs to test their agility. The park will not blow you away but does the basic job of getting both your dog and you a good caloric reduction. The entrance has a double gate to prevent dogs from wandering out. Gets really tough on a rainy day due to the mud. Provides a nice social gathering for humans to bond over their dogs, share stories and beak the Seattle freeze one person at a time. If you forget to BYO a poop bag don't worry they always have big poop bags. Don't forget to get water as there are no watering holes here! read more

I have mixed feelings about this dog park. On the positive side, it's close to home and the small and large dog areas are fenced in. On the negative side, I've gone there a few times and no one else was there to play with. Also, some idiot brought his huge 50+ pound puppy into the small dog area and refused to move his dog in with the large dogs when asked. His pup was rambunctious and untrained and I was afraid my 15 pound puppy would get hurt. We and another couple had to leave. I've been there 3 times and I don't think I will go back. read more

Went here on a rainy day on the suggestion of a fellow dog owner. This is an awesome park that doesn't turn into a mud pit in the rain. There is a small agility course set up at the top left of the hill with two jumps, a ramp, and a fake hollow log to run through. Overall I was very impressed with this park although their weren't any other dogs due to the rain it was great playing fetch with the hill our dog was tired out quickly running all the way up the hill several times! read more

Nice park but was a little too wet and muddy by the entrance we went into. Biggest problem is lack of parking. A spot for 2 - 3 cars by the entrance and you either have to park where they're are signs warning you will get towed if you're there for the dog park. read more

The size was just right, 2 acres. I could keep a watchful eye on my dog, he had plenty of room to just run, the park was clean and seemed safe. My dog is medium sized so we wore him out in the larger dog area then let him play with the smaller dogs in the 30lbs or less area. There were lots of dogs running and playing with each other in both the small and large area, no dogs were laying around. There is bark on the ground but I didn't see or step in any droppings. It is unfortunate the parking isn't better and there isn't much variety to the layout (scenery) but that is really just being picky. I have taken my dog there 3 times now, each time the park was clean and all the dogs were running around. read more

Pros- -lots of room to roam -2 parks - one for big dogs, one for small -free parking - conveniently located - generally friendly people who seemed like regulars Cons- -a few outright aggressive dogs not properly handled. My pup Ragnar and I are from out of town. Being we travel a lot we go to many dog parks, I have to say we absolutely loved this little park! Its completely fenced in! It's mostly hills, which wears them out, it's also muddy so bring boots and a towel in your car for dirty paws. There's lots of trees and bushes to sniff/explore along with an obstacle course to train or play on. I love the woodsy feel, and the fact it's a hidden gem in an industrial part of town. Ragnar loved he could freely explore and run really fast down the hills! The only reason my rating is not a full 5 stars, there are loads of mushrooms in the park so you need to keep a close eye on your pup, some species of mushys can be harmful to pups, especially if seen as a snack. read more

My two stars are unfortunately based upon the people at the park. This is a dog park, and not a bar or a child daycare center. I have been here several times now and will not return. Dog parks are to socialize and exercise dogs. Not to stand around shooting the breeze. My boyfriend and I were trying to work with our boxer on remaining calm when a young boy came RUNNING up to us. We asked him to stop,multiple times, as it excites our dog and makes her harder to train. He continued to run in circles around us and our dog. His parents were nowhere in sight or they thought his behavior is okay and let him keep bothering us. There seems to be a group of people who know each other and attend regularly. They stand around talking and ignoring their dogs. Dogs where running all over stealing toys, humping, barking, and other unacceptable behaviors. Are experience here was completely ruined by bad dog owners and we have now been discouraged from ever returning. After high hopes of having a dog park in Kirkland, people have ruined it. Please learn to be a responsible dog owner while in a off leash public area. read more

I'm not a dog owner, but I do dogsit a lot and sometimes come by with other friends and neighbors here and I agree with Sheena's review. The group of volunteers who rallied and worked so hard to bring this park to realization have, unfortunately, seemingly become a very strong-armed and ever present cliche at this park. Dogs run unsupervised, children taunt other animals, people violate the dog per handler rule, the leash on walkway rule and, in general, all that venture here are supremely disrespectful to traffic and neighbors-residential and commercial - by parking however they feel like, not how is legal or even just nice. Not every visit here has been a travesty, of course, and volunteer work parties to keep it up and continually improve are seemingly pretty regular, but this park has a long way to go to, and it's entirely up to those who visit the park to get it there. read more

I will admit I've been spoiled by Renton's off-leash and if it wasn't for that fact, Jasper's *might* rate higher. My largest gripe is the lack of water on site and how people are allowing their dogs to act in a "pack" fashion at the entry. Today, my dog was accosted by a minimum of 10 dogs. Instead of interacting with their dogs, people are just socially congregating with one another. The only reason I don't kick Jasper's down to a one star is because it is in a peaceful location with a lot of beautiful greenery. Although this is a large-ish park, due to the fact that the majority of people and dogs stay at the front near the gates, the area was muddy. There is bark spread through the area, but you can tell that a large area is not as utilized as the entry/gate area. read more

I started coming here when the dog park was brand new and it's certainly changed a bit. There seems to be a development of regulars that come here, and albeit friendly, some don't seem to understand other play styles among different breeds. I own a Shiba Inu and they're notoriously known for being mouthy, flashy, and rough. My dog often gets along with the bigger dog breeds, but I often have clueless people come up to me and ask if my dog normally plays like that. I wouldn't be attending the park if I knew my dog was aggressive and I certainly wouldn't be standing around if my dog was attacking another. He's a rough sport, simple as that. If I notice your dog isn't particularly enjoying it, I'll call him off. Other than that, it's not bad. It's also a five minute drive from my house, so I like to swing by sometimes when I want to watch my dog play and have fun. read more

Finally got the pup all vaccinated and could take her to the dog park! I like how this place has 2 sections, one for big dog and one for small dogs. We can on saturday and it was of course pretty busy. Unfortunately, none of the smaller dogs were in the small dog pen. They were busy buzzing around playing fetch and wrestling with the "big kids." As soon as we entered the park, the people there were really friendly and some of them could tell that we were "new guys." It was funny. Our 6 month old did pretty well but I am not sure if she was in the mood to play so we stayed for 15-ish minutes before it started to rain anyways and we went home. We didn't want to push it. We did however get some pretty good off leash training and once this awful weather goes away, I am definitely going to bring her back. read more

Pretty good park for your four legged family members. Pros: -Huge area for your dogs to run, run, run and run more. -Nice tree area on top of the hill which provides shade and another run area for your dogs to play keep away. -There's a small dog area that's separate from the big dogs area which is a favorite of mine. I don't know how many times that I've seen a tea cup something or other get rolled up on because they act like they're bigger and badder than the 175lb. Great Dane that's running by which of course causes the tea cup owner to be angry with the Great Dane owner. "How dare your dog provoke my poor little princess"? I've actually heard this before. -Secure gates so you don't have to worry about dogs running off. Cons: -When it rains, it gets super muddy because there's no grass, just mud and beauty bark/mulch. -Needs a little better upkeep. Maybe charge $1 for usage? This way you could even add an agility course or another attraction. read more

This is a nice, small ish dog park. I love the type of bark that is on the ground because it easily dries and brushes off your dog and you're not leaving the park with a super dirty, muddy pup. The park is on the side of a hill and there are a few benches. There is also a separately fenced small dog play area. Your dog can play out in the open dirt or wander up around the trees. You can pretty much stay standing in one place without losing sight of your dog, or you can take a short jaunt around the park. read more

I like this dog park a lot! It is conveniently located in the Kirkland area with plenty of parking all around. It is a really pretty location with big trees and forest area all around. The fenced in area is big enough, but not too big that you can't see your dog. The park itself has bark all around and a couple of benches, water fountain, water bowls, poop bags, and trash cans which is nice. I read other reviews that mention that there are unsupervised children here, but I have never seen any when I come (weekdays and weekends!). All the people that come here are mostly nice and respectful. Everyone always brings water and is happy to share with other pups. Every once in awhile, there will be a bad apple that ruins the experience for everyone. I have seen several large dogs who are very misbehaved, jump on others, and terrorize smaller dogs. The owners don't step in or do anything to prevent this behavior! Some people will just sit there and let their dogs be horrible to others with no care in the world! My dog is a large breed, but still pretty young and every time we come here, we have noticed that the other dogs gang up on him and the owners are just standing around chatting, not watching their dogs! NOT OKAY! If you come to this park, PLEASE watch your dog, correct their behavior, clean up their poop, and focus on your DOG rather than chatting up the humans around you. read more

My dog Ryker and I visited this park around 11am on a Wednesday. First off, it's a bit challenging to find, it's located in an industrial type of area and the sign is basically facing only one way: essential I only saw the sign because I had to turn around. Also, while several others have posted that there's plenty of parking, that's not the case during the week when the businesses are open (parking sucks, many of the businesses even have signs about No Dog Park parking). There are no faculties for people and the waste bins are located by the street so I saw a lot of baggies of poop left just laying next to the fence and even by the gate. While it's not the biggest park out there, it is nicely set up, fully fenced with a very sturdy fence with out any breaks etc. It has an area for small/older dogs. The area is completely covered in large bark/ mulch which is obviously well maintained. It's has some really cute signs reminding people to pick up, watch their dogs and other tips. Although they say they don't provide water, like most dog parks we've been to,I saw several dishes and jugs that people have left. All I all, if we are in the area, I would come to this park again, but I would not go out of my way to visit. read more

I don't prefer this dog park. The bark footing never dries out so it smells strongly of urine. Other dogs tend to be aggressive and because of the wooded areas owners seem to lose track of their dogs. I'd love to see more benches and garbage cans. read more

This is the worst dog park in existence. I will admit: I never knew about this place until I started playing the Pokemon Go game and noticed 2 Pokestops and 1 Pokemon gym placed at this particular location. As a full-time employee who works in one of the corporate buildings around the quiet Kirkland area, and as a loving owner of a golden retriever, I immediately took interest. Jasper's Park is, quite literally, a filthy and barren mud field with two, rickety-old park benches placed far, far away from each other. I visited the place three times, with each hopeful visit significantly worse than the last. The majority of the people that go here are older adults, but they TERRIBLY rude to new folks and are often socializing with each other or talking on their cell phones--they are "so" busy, that they pay little to no supervision on their dog(s). Another thing to note, is that their dogs are overly-aggressive, and have "playfully" hurt my dog before. Thanks, dog owners. Yes, these kind of experiences all depend on the people and the dogs...but after three visits, I have decided: If rude, negligent adults are what this park attracts, then I'll take my dog elsewhere for a better time. read more

Extremely disappointed with this park. My dog was almost attacked by another dog while it's owner wasn't even at the park, they just left. A lady also told me her 2 other dogs got attacked twice at the same park. Don't take your dog here unless you're want them to be scratched up and bleeding when you're done. The last time we were there, we saw no less then 3 dog fights among neutered males within 20 minutes, and yet the park has a "NO UN-NEUTERED DOGS" policy. Judging by our experience and the number of Yelp posts about aggressive dogs in this park, discriminating against testicles has done nothing to reduce dog fights. I would theorize that because many owners believe that castrating their dogs is a substitute for discipline / obedience, this irrational rule is in fact enabling dog aggression. read more

So there are mainly 2 types of dog parks - the huge, multi-acre ones like the one at Marymoor that everyone raves about, then this type - closed, smaller, no frills dirt patch. In my review I'll attempt to compare/contrast the 2 types to give a good perspective on the pros/cons. While I like that the Marymoor one because it's huge, it's a little too huge. My dog runs like the devil's after her whenever she does get distracted by other dogs (and she is often distracted), and rushes off to go play with someone else's dog, leaving poor me to chase after her. While part of this may be training, breed, etc., it doesn't really matter - my point is that the park's so big I've lost her on multiple occasions, only to find her 5 minutes later being walked back by another owner, and having to profusely apologize for my dog's behavior. So while it's a great space, if your dog's got ADHD like mine, it's probably not the right place to go. At Jasper's, it's low key and with easy sight lines - lots of space to run around still, and with a few smaller "trail" areas in the back, a small agility area, and a separated small dog area too. I can easily see my dog without chasing after her the entire time or worry that she got into a fight with someone else's dog, or pooping somewhere I don't see and someone else accidentally stepping into it. I do have 2 big gripes about this park - it has no water at the facility, and it's all dirt. The water thing isn't too bad, most people bring enough for a couple dogs so if you forget to bring your dog's water, no need to worry. It's a pretty good community and people are happy to share treats/water with other pups. However the dirt thing gets me/my dog. While playing fetch, she'll often grab the tennis ball/frisbee/stick, and it's chock full of dirt/bark. One time when she came home she vomited, and it contained a bunch of the stuff. I wish there were more grass so at least it's easier for my dog to not swallow a bunch of the stuff. Then when it's rainy, the park turns into a giant mudpit, so not very usable. Overall despite its shortcomings, I like this park since it's a bit hidden and you see lots of regulars, and it's a good size while I can still keep an eye out on the pup. read more

The idea is really good - however because of the few times I've been here I've had to give this off-leash dog park 2 stars. The last time we were here at this park, we could barely enter the gates! The people here didn't read or maybe they couldn't read? I dunno but about 5 large dogs barricaded the entry gate. We had to push and ask a person the inside if they could get the dogs (large ones at that) away from the entry gate. Perhaps since dogs can't read - perhaps their humans should have - There has been aggressive dogs there - the last time I went was 1 week ago - there was an aggressive dog that followed my Golden around trying to "date" her (read humping) - and then growling and snapping at her when she tried to get away. This behavior continued mid-park range to about 10 feet from the gate. Poo bags - bring your own. Bring water. I know that there is garbage bin but not close by. People get a handle on your dogs! Also- I hate beating up on the only off-leash park in Kirkland- it's needed! read more
