Got a cup of coffee from Main Street Bellevue and started strolling to Meydenbaurer bay then continue strolling and made it to Medina park. It is a wonderful area with man made lake nice walk ways for exercise. Very relaxing and perfect for weekend morning walk. I've always loved coming here, but just had an upsetting experience. An unsupervised golden retriever came up to my friend and our two dogs and was harassing us. We were minding our business. The dog took my dog's ball and ran off. My dog was not a fan, so I leashed my dog and got the ball back. Sure enough, the dog came back. I said "no" as it tried to approach us. My dog was still leashed at this point because the dog was running around wildly. The owner came up to me and said "I don't know why you're in an off leash park if you're not okay with him approaching you." I told her that her dog was harassing us and that just because it's an off leash park doesn't mean we can't tell her dog to get away. She tried to argue and said that her dog hadn't even approached us--turns out she wasn't paying attention when her dog came over before. Her dog continued to go up to every single dog and run around far away from his owner. The rules clearly state that dogs are to be under voice control and should not bother other dogs or park users. The woman then proceeded to tell us "you must not be from around here, no one has ever talked to me like that." I am so disappointed. I felt very unwelcome and I'm fuming. It's sad that those who who live near the park thing it's private and no one else belongs there. Just be aware if you live elsewhere and you want to enjoy this space. You may not be welcomed by the "park regulars." read more

Gorgeous park. Parking lot & kids playground has construction going on right now (5/17/22). There are so many beautiful areas here that you'll find plenty to do even with the construction. You can park on street if the parking lot is still closed. There were tons of parking spots on a weekday. There are a few schools nearby so be aware that there will be a lot of kids/traffic when school gets out. read more

I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want it to become overcrowded, but Medina park is pretty nice. As the downtown Bellevue park and Meydenbauer Bay park get super crowded (even in COVID times), Medina park is about 5 minutes away and much more secluded. It's a pretty big park, with one side being more for dogs and the other with a playground and the bathroom. The only thing that irks me right now is that every time I've gone to this park in the summer, the bees keep following me and my food. Either I'm wearing something that attracts them, or they really want my chipotle. read more

Great park for kids and dogs. The off leash area is usually calm without many dogs. The water fountains are still turned off so bring bottled water and a bowl. The ponds have consistently tested negative for dangerous algae but it can make your dog smell like a swamp--make sure you bring a towel! Not enclosed so if your dog doesn't have great recall or is not cognisant of cars/roads, use a long line. read more

The park is a nice place to walk around and they have an area for dogs to run around as well. There is a playground for kids along with a small pond. The thing that puzzles me is why people are fishing at the pond. There is also a tennis court and a bocce ball court. If you play Pokemon Go, this park has a few Pokestops. There is a large tree that kids like to climb. 2 parking areas or you can park on the street. This is a nice little park in the middle of Medina. read more

Such a great and not crowded (yet) park! Love that there is ample space for the dogs to run around and a great pathway for family to walk. Medina Park was also thought out in which there are tables and chairs so you can sit while your doggo still runs around. Medina park is interesting in that it is split into two. What I mean by that is, one side is for off-leash dog park and the other side is much more family/elderly walking friendly as all dogs must be on leash beyond a certain point to ensure a safe walking area. As nice as this park is, there is a negative side, which is the cyanobacteria algae ponds that are NOT fenced off. This is quite dangerous for kids and doggos that cannot resist going into/drinking the water! Another thing is, due to covid, they have shut down the fountain for the dogs - so bring your own jug of water. Overall, a very nice park, just need to be careful in some areas. read more

This is a perfect place for children. The playground is great and very spacious. And it's also perfect place for four legged friends. On the other side of the playground is off leash area and it's a great place for your doggie to get some exercise. read more

I love coming here with my dog since it's off-leash and is oftentimes quiet. It's nice to just go there for some alone time, too, with a book, since not many people go here other than the Medina residents. The pathway around the park goes around the small ponds and is near the neighborhood. There are also dog bags and waste bins throughout the area, as well as a clean restroom towards the back of the park. read more

This is a great dog park. Right in the heart of Medina. For half of the year the entire park is entirely off-leash (the wetter half). And for the other half of the year, they limit the off leash area to the East half of the park. Not to fear though, you can still take your dog to the West side of the park - you just have to keep him/her on a leash at that point. This is probably because during those warmer months, the park is used a lot by families with small children and occasionally also as a meeting place for kids soccer teams and such. (seems fair enough. Don't want any dogs running down kids with soccer balls without being invited...) There are two big ponds here separated by a small stream. There's even a "launching area" on the Southern pond so that dogs and swim and fetch to their heart's content. This pond is ESPECIALLY popular with the dogs in the summer time when it gets warmer and they can all use a refreshing dip. And there are a couple of watering bowls, complete with water hose nearby, strategically placed throughout the park. Nice walking trail all around the park. And plenty of free poop-scoop bags with disposal cans all throughout the park. Nice touch. Best part about this park is that the dogs (and their owners) who come here are all really nice. Lots of really friendly people here. Plenty of locals - and it seems to be a real communal spot for a lot of the dogs. Rarely have I ever come across an unruly dog here - or unruly owner for that matter. And don't assume that because it's Medina you're only going to find tiny toy lap dogs yipping at the feet of Medina housewives. Nope - this park is the real deal. Big dogs abound. Lots of running room and fetching acreage. In fact, if I've ever seen any lap dogs - they pretty much keep to the perimeter. Great park. I'm a regular here. My dog loves it here. Awesome park in Medina! We come here for the off-leash dog area but I saw a fun playground for children as well. This park is very nicely maintained and landscaped - the grass is actually lush!Essentially looping around a couple of ponds, this isn't your traditional dog park. It's more like a traditional park where you can play with your dog without them being stuck on a leash. I could see some people having issues with it not being fenced off but my dogs loved it! They keep each other company and love running around the pond. The ponds are really nice and serene and even have ducks in them! We will definitely be coming back!! read more

I grew up near this park and twice I remember seeing an otter in the pond. Years later when I mentioned this to people they told me I was crazy. But now! After years of searching the internet for some proof of my sanity, I have found it! https://medina.civicweb.net/Documents/DocumentDisplay.aspx?ID=1348 2001: "announced the otter in Medina Park had been moved to Green River, due to numerous complaints about aggressive behavior." Thank you internet for being amazing and backing me up :) Now I'm not exactly sure why this is advertised as a dog park. It's not fenced in. At all. You can have your dog off leash in half or all the park depending on the time of year, but this isn't a place for dogs that might run into the street. (Dogs like that really shouldn't be off leash anywhere in public, but we all know people do it anyway.) So there's no otter, but it's a nice clean and pretty park anyway. Check it out! read more

A hidden gem and one of my all-time favorite parks in Washington. It's larger than it looks, so it's great for a stroll. The ponds with the trees make it a magical scenery. There are also tennis courts, a playground for kids, and an off-leash area for dogs. I had a photoshoot here with friends and the photographer loved the venue. Wouldn't really call this place a dog park. However there is adequate space for your dog to play and run freely! If your dog is the run into the street sort of dog then I wouldn't come here since it isn't fenced or at least keep them on a leash. Substantial sized parking lot here so that is great! The pond is honestly one of the greatest aesthetic additions to this park! Perfect for relaxing if you want to enjoy a view with water but you're not in the mood for a lake. Or a photoshoot or whatever your choice! There is an adequate playground too, perfect for your kids. This is one of my favorite none lakefront parks! I would refer this park to anyone wanting to enjoy a relaxing day. read more

It is a great park for walking dogs, or just walking, close to the freeway or centrally located if you live in the Medina/Clyde Hill area. Pro Tip: DO NOT FEED THE DUCKS! I tried to do this once with my sister, all full of childhood nostalgia, but the animals here are VERY aggressive and will not leave you alone, to the point of bitting. Great for dogs, great for walks, not great for kids trying to feed ducks. read more

My dog LOVES this park. She can swim, play with other dogs, swim some more, and walk the walk! The best part is it is off leash! Plus, most of the dogs are so well behaved, and the pup parents are friendly and considerate with one another. read more
