My concerns began when a PA associated with the practice recommended a colonoscopy without ever performing a physical exam. The lack of care continued with Dr. Cohen, who provided no instructions regarding my blood thinners. She failed to coordinate with my hematologist, and after the procedure, when I had bleeding issues, I still received no guidance on stopping my medication or when to restart my medication. I felt there was a disregard for my physical health. I made it clear before the procedure that I had an Achilles tendon injury that was almost healed. Despite this, I left the procedure with a new complication to that injury, requiring me to wear a boot for at least three weeks. When I expressed my concerns about all of these complications, I felt she completely shrugged them off. I left feeling unheard and disrespected. I would not recommend seeing this physician.

I was very sick in a 2.5 year flare and Dr. Cohen cured me!!! I was told by previous physicians my only solution would be surgery multiple times, but Dr. Cohen did her research and we tried another combination of therapies, that have been working so well! She tried these new combinations of therapies with very close monitoring. She is so smart and experienced but ensures she explains everything in patient friendly terms, very comprehensively, practicing shared decision making as well. Our first appointment we went through my whole medication/disease history to ensure she had all the information- so patient and comprehensive!! She is always very patient with all my questions and concerns, quick with follow up, and extremely comprehensive. She focuses on GI of course, but she also ensures I am update to date on all vaccines and exams (even more so than my pcp :) ), and takes the time to discuss non- GI related medical concerns with me as well. She checks in on mental health and nutrition and provides recommendations and referrals for all specialities. She immediately put me at ease. She gave me several openings in which to ask questions and at the end of the visit, she told me to email her if I had any questions before my procedure. I did end up having a question and it was answered promptly. There was also a video as well as several documents offering information concerning the Covid test, the preparation for the procedure and the procedure itself. The followup to make an appointment for the Covid test and procedure went smoothly. The Covid test was administered in her office where I felt very safe--all protocols were followed, there was only one other person in the large waiting room and I only had to wait very briefly. The day of the procedure, the staff and the doctor made me feel comfortable and were all very professional. The center seems very well-run. I was treated with such care and respect. I had great trepidation about having this procedure but Dr. Cohen gave me great confidence every step of the way.

HOWEVER, after my most recent experience with the office I will certainly NOT be going back. I was referred to him in the ER in 2020. I was in surgery for about 9 months (every 6 weeks). I have been trying to get in touch with him since Nov 2020 (exactly 3 years) and so far I have only been able to get connected to the office twice. I give up. Plenty of other qualified doctors in the area. There's no way he is this bad at maintaining a competent office staff and phone line department in 2023. A pigeon would have successfully arrived in 3 years with my request but not his office staff. Sidenote, I referred him to my husband who got through to his office on the first attempt (miracle) and scheduled a tele-appointment in 2021. We waited for 30 mins for him to get on the line just to find out that the office never informed us that he had decided to cancel appointments and go on a vacation. I had a very disappointing experience with this practice from start to finish…read more When I contacted the office regarding what I believed may have been a medication reaction, the office staff did not seem to know how to properly assist me or even how to ensure my message reached the doctor. That lack of communication and guidance was concerning. On the day of my procedure, the experience felt unnecessarily stressful. The anesthesiologist appeared to be rushing the nurse while my IV was being placed, which did not inspire confidence or comfort before the procedure. Afterward, the doctor immediately approached my bedside announcing he had "bad news," which caused significant anxiety. In reality, the procedure had simply been unsuccessful and nothing concerning or abnormal had been found. The delivery of that information felt unnecessarily alarming and lacked sensitivity. When I later called to reschedule the failed procedure, the office staff told me they would need to speak with the doctor and call me back. I never received a return call. After that experience and the poor follow-through, I chose not to return to the practice.

Did not get all the stones, put in a stent and never followed up. I got pancreatitis from his procedure and he had no idea!! The surgeon who removed my gallbladder ended up treated my pancreatitis. Was in the hospital for 10 days and Gupta had no idea. I saw Gupta about 10 after leaving hospital. Still no idea I was sick due to his procedure. His med tech actually took my BP while I was standing up!!!!!! Twice!! Run from here....
