    Seitan and tofu entree
    Kenneth K.

My fiancé was heading back to our apartment from the dentist and saw this truck parked right outside our apartment building and she asked me if I wanted to try it for dinner. They were very grateful for our business as they unfortunately did not have many customers. I wish our building management did a better job advertising or maybe put up signs on Georgia Ave to find it. We had lamb skewers, chicken satay, and seitan and tofu entrees. Unfortunately the seitan and tofu had peanuts which I'm allergic to but my fiancé loved it. I really loved the lamb and chicken, and the lamb was my favorite. The prices were very reasonable (about $10 per entree) and they came with a veggie spring roll and a spicy salad (the sauce burns your mouth). Indonesia is such a populous country and there's not much Indonesian food in the area or even in the US unlike cuisine native to smaller Southeast Asian countries. I ate had from another Indonesian food truck in downtown several years ago when interning and dined at an Indonesian restaurant a couple of years ago in Amsterdam (where it is a common cuisine), and they definitely beat both of them.

Absolutely estatic to see food from my region around dc area. Service was quick and courteous. I had beef rendang and asked for extra tempe, I offered to pay extra since tempe was not in included but it was given for free. Their beef rendang is delicious. They satisfy my craving for indonesian/malaysian food.

    Spicy beef rendang.

Friendly service. The other Indonesian food trucks have better corn fritters, but both their lumpia and pickled veggies were perfectly executed. Rice was nice and fluffy, there was a good amount of heat to the spicy sauce, and I like the garnish of crispy shallots, but the beef rendang itself was kinda tough. I'd give them another shot with their kari ayam or sate kambing, I think the former would be nice to sop up with the rice.

Chicken Satay with peanut sauce over fried rice. Steamed veggies and lumpia in smaller sections

I ordered the chicken satay with fried rice, steamed veggies (broccoli, string beans, mushrooms etc.) and veggie lumpia. Nice portion. Absolutely delicious. Would have been a perfect 5 star but 1 of lumpia were empty! I look forward going back to this truck. The chef is incredibly nice and let me sample the beef rendang. I'll get that next time or ask if I can have half chicken half beef rendang.

The beef rendang melted in my mouth and had all these ridiculously good, super duper yummy side dishes.

The restaurant is small and humble, more similar to a cafe style than full service. There was a server taking our order and bringing the food to us, but we grabbed our own waters and paid at the counter. RICE PLATTER (3 ITEMS) - 15.75 + rendang, grilled chicken, sweet & spicy anchovies and peanut Not a whole lot of "items" but an overwhelming amount of rice. The beef rendang was a bit oily, but flavorful and tender. The grilled chicken was incredibly dry and unappetizing. I loved the sweet & spicy anchovies and peanut, which was perfectly seasoned and crunchy. Overall, disappointed with the lack of protein. In this economy, the pricing was relative affordable with most entrees under $20. My friend got the NASI KUNING, which was only a few bucks more than my rice platter, but it had a lot more food and variety. The turmeric rice was fragrant, like a spiced jasmine-flavored rice. The rice chips she didn't want (that I helped eat) were great.

They specialize in Colombian street food, particularly empanadas and hot dogs. Service is quick and they make everything to order. They have a couple of tables and chairs in front of their set-up to enjoy the food. The perro caliente is the star of their menu; I've never had anything like it before coming here. In addition to your standard hot dog, they add mozzarella cheese and onions topped with pineapple sauce, mayoketchup, garlic mayo, and crushed potato chips. The combination sounds wild but the flavors cohesively come together for a delicious bite. I don't even like hot dogs but I was sold in the unique sweet and savory combination of sauces + the incorporation of potato chips. As for the empanada, you can't go wrong with any of their offerings. I've had both the chicken and beef and they were both so tasty. They fry them on the spot and the shell has the perfect crisp with every bite. It comes with a dipping sauce which I believe is one of their mayo sauces which definitely elevates the empanadas. They also offer frozen empanadas that you could take home! I wish I lived closer to enjoy their offerings on the regular. In the meantime, patiently awaiting the opportunity to come back and hopefully bring back a load of frozen empanadas!
