Had breakfast and lunch here and staff was very efficient and welcoming. For lunch, I had their chicken corn soup and it was very flavorful as was the cranberry turkey pecan salad with poppyseed dressing. The small salad was quite large. Large place with cool vibe. read more

I am only able to review the coffee and atmosphere at Java Jive, because I didn't try any food or treats. But both were excellent. It has a very authentic and comfortable atmosphere, free wi fi and TONS of seating. My Americano was great and my husband's shot in the dark was also very good. Prices are as expected. The location is terrific alongside the Mark Twain riverfront area of Hannibal. If I lived nearby I can see this being a favorite stop and great spot for a book club or meet up with friends or possibly even a casual business meeting. I'd make a point to return. read more

Finding a good place that serves gluten free options is often a challenge. This place has gluten free bread for sandwiches and makes salads and soups that are amazing. And of course, very nice coffees and their companions. I also was pleased with all of the stuff on site. Very nice people here. I would come back anytime time. read more

Such a great little shop! This is a must-stop if you are in Hannibal. It is the perfect start to any day, or pick up along the way. The staff is kind and helpful, and pretty fast too! There are a ton of little knickknacks and goodies to view while you wait. I had the chocolate cake (for breakfast...) and it was AMAZING. Stopped here fir quick lunch on road trip to Illinois. What a wonderful place. I had a great walnut, cranberry argula salad. It was served in large bowl. I am in Quincy Illinois on a business trip and decided to cross the border into Missouri and go to Hannibal. I decided to get on Yelp and located this little spot in downtown Hannibal's historic area. It is a deli and a bakery and it is what it says it is. They have different types of coffees, baked goods, desserts, salads, wraps and breakfast. They also offer sandwiches a create your own meal, sides and extras, ice cream and kids meals. This place is pretty eclectic in its food offering and it's style. I ordered the Italian salad, a large iced coffee and a coconut cream pie... All for under $20! The salad was fresh with mixed greens, tomatoes, croutons, peppers,salami and ham. The iced coffee was a good size...I had them add a touch of cream and a touch of vanilla for taste. The coconut cream pie came in an individual plastic container but it tasted as if it was just cut directly from the pie. Everything was very good I will be back tomorrow for round 2! This is truly a local haunt. I had a coupon for a free iced tea with purchase of a wrap or sandwich. I went with one of the artist-named wraps which I can't remember now, the soup of the day and iced tea. It it was very good. I also used the Wi-Fi and browsed the pottery/gifts section. I was impressed with the friendly staff, roominess of the place and very large menu. I wish I had had several days to hang out here and try some of their tasty drinks like the Milky Way Latte. read more

Oh my word!!!!! Soooo yummy! We had one of their special Thai salads with peanut sauce dressing... sooooo full of spring lettuce mix, with all kinds of goodness and variety like edamame, peanuts, carrots, and Chinese noodles. Soooo toothsome, so delicious. We also got a turkey wrap....it too was chock full of variety and goodness. It's always weird to review a place you've only been once, but I have to say that Java Jive completely exceeded my expectations. Driving from Chicago to KC on the reg will most likely bring you to Hannibal. After you realize that I-55 to I-70 is nightmarish, and that I-88 to I-80 to I-35 takes way too long, you will settle on I-55 to US 36 and you will be glad that you did. Pro Tip: There is nothing between Hannibal and Cameron, so you're gonna want to stop in Hannibal. When you stop in Hannibal, go here. I had a sticky bun and it was maybe the best sticky bun I've ever had. And I don't even like sticky buns. But it sat there, glistening, and looking so tempting that I ordered it. It was perfect. The roll was yeasty, not sweet. Which is what a sticky bun should be. The coffee was fine. But that sticky bun. Awesome. read more

OMG!!!! This place is so unique, fun, and tasty! I enjoyed it a lot. First off, this place is very unique in the furniture, decor, and the color of the outside of the building. Anyone that goes with those colors must be quirky. No joke, the colors on the outside are pink, yellow, and teal. If that doesn't scream quirky to you, then I don't know what does. Alright now onto the inside and the food and drinks. The inside is actually pretty spacious. It's kind of deceptive from the outside, but inside it is deep. Meaning the space they have to play with is huge. They also didn't cram like 500 tables into the space, but rather different size tables and chairs that are not on top of each other. It's set up more like a coffee shop/hang out area than a restaurant to me. The coffee here is definitely nothing I've had before. To me, it seemed more bit more bitter than other places or they don't go heavy on the flavors. I love me some flavor other than coffee and this place was not one of those. My drinks were good, but not something worth having my tastebuds experience again. Food wise, I love it. I had a chicken salad sandwich, which was delicious. I enjoyed every last bite of that sandwich and would recommend it to everyone. Really, chicken salad isn't one of my favorite things and I loved this. That is saying something. Best coffee shop in the area by far, I go to Hannibal frequently and I often go here for lunch and coffee. Most recently had a really good chai, cold brewed coffee and breakfast cookie ( that was soft, molassesy and satisfying). Friendly and helpful service. Interesting salad options for lunch that are worth a try too.(Quinoa black bean salad in Hannibal?! I'll take it!) Hard to find a place like this in Quincy/Hannibal/Palmyra area. read more

Java Jive is the only place I can get gluten free muffins and pastries , They are so good but you have to try the Gluten free Apple Oatmeal bar it is to die for!!!!! Where do I start? The people that work there are amazing. The girl who took my order was very sweet and helped me find something I would like. I don't know much about coffee but she was kind and understanding and patient with me. It is a very homey place and always is clean. The coffee is great and they have an amazing selection of desserts and also soups and sandwiches. Great place to go get coffee and read or go on a nice coffee date. The food was okay, the seating dangerous. Vintage chairs were wobbly and some felt like they would give out from under you.
